- the primer mixture is an explosive lead styphnate blended with non-corrosive fuels and oxidizers which burns through a flash hole formed in the rear area of the cartridge case and ignites the propellant stored in the cartridge case.
- the primer produces an initial pressure to support the burning propellant and seals the rear of the cartridge case to prevent high-pressure gases from escaping rearward. It should be noted that it is well known in the industry to manufacture primers in several different sizes and from different mixtures, each of which affects ignition differently.
- the primary objective of the cartridge case is to hold the bullet, primer, and propellant therein until the gun is fired.
- the cartridge case Upon firing of the gun, the cartridge case seals the chamber to prevent the hot gases from escaping the chamber in a rearward direction and harming the shooter.
- the empty cartridge case is extracted manually or with the assistance of gas or recoil from the chamber once the gun is fired.

- the slope of the tapered portion 306 approximately matches the slope of the overlap portion 222 so the two can slide over each other to engage the upper 200 and lower 300 components.
- the tapered portion 306 ends in a flat seat 307.
- the seat 307 can have a thickness Ts which is about equal to the thickness of the wall and/or sleeve. This allows the bottom end 228 of the sleeve to sit on the seat 307 when the upper 200 and lower 300 components engage. This prevents the bottom end 228 of the sleeve 230 from being exposed. This could allow the gases to exert pressure on the bottom end 228 that can separate the upper 200 from the lower 300 component.
- the lower component 300 in this further example is now much longer and comprises most of the propellant chamber 340.
- the tapered portion is now replaced with an outer tapered portion 342.
- the outer tapered portion 342 slides over the underskirt portion 240 so the two can be joined together as noted above.

Claims (8)
- Munition subsonique à base de polymère de résistance élevée, comprenant :un corps de cartouche, comportant une première extrémité (210) et une seconde extrémité opposée (304), moulée à partir d'un polymère, ledit corps de cartouche comprenant un composant (200) pourvu de ladite première extrémité (210) et pourvu de ladite seconde extrémité (304) ;caractérisée en ce que la munition comprend de plus :une embouchure (208) à une extrémité d'un col (206) qui forme une transition par rapport à un épaulement conique (204), l'ensemble étant disposé en correspondance de la première extrémité (210) ;ledit composant (200) enfermant un volume d'une chambre à propulseur (340) comprenant une première paroi interne ayant une première inclinaison et une seconde paroi interne ayant une seconde inclinaison ;un insert (400) raccordé à la seconde extrémité (304), ledit insert (400) comportant un évent (418) disposé en correspondance de la seconde extrémité (304) ;ladite seconde extrémité (304) comportant un trou (312) reliant l'évent (418) à la chambre à propulseur (340) ;la première inclinaison se prolongeant entre l'épaulement (204) et la seconde paroi interne ; la seconde inclinaison se prolongeant entre la première paroi interne et l'évent (418) ;la première inclinaison n'étant pas égale à la seconde inclinaison, les première et seconde inclinaisons réduisant un volume de la chambre à propulseur (340) contenant le propulseur propulsant la balle (50) à des vitesses subsoniques ; et une balle (50), ayant un poids standard, se mettant en prise de façon amovible avec l'embouchure (208).
- Douille de munition subsonique à base de polymère de résistance élevée selon la revendication 1, dans laquelle l'embouchure (208) comprend également : une extension (242) se mettant en prise à l'embouchure (208) ; et une amorce (244) se mettant en prise avec une extrémité de l'extension opposée à l'embouchure (208), dans laquelle l'amorce (244) se déforme élastiquement lorsque la cartouche est tirée.
- Douille de munition subsonique à base de polymère de résistance élevée selon la revendication 1, comprenant de plus un adhésif disposé entre la balle (50) et l'embouchure (208).
- Douille de munition subsonique à base de polymère de résistance élevée selon la revendication 3, comprenant de plus : un premier diamètre de la première paroi interne ; et un second diamètre de la seconde paroi interne, dans laquelle le premier diamètre est supérieur au second diamètre.
- Douille de cartouche à base de polymère de résistance élevée selon la revendication 3, comprenant de plus : un premier diamètre de la première paroi interne ; et un second diamètre de la seconde paroi interne, dans laquelle le premier diamètre est inférieur au second diamètre.
- Procédé de fabrication d'une douille de cartouche à base de polymère de résistance élevée pour une munition subsonique selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend les étapes de :mouler un corps de cartouche, à partir d'un polymère, comportant une première extrémité (210) et une seconde extrémité opposée (212) ;disposer de façon amovible une balle au poids conventionnel (50), pour un calibre de la balle, dans la première extrémité (210) ;former un insert (400) se mettant en prise avec la seconde extrémité (212) ;mouler une partie d'épaulement (204) à proximité de la première extrémité (210) ;prolonger une première paroi interne, ayant un premier diamètre, dans le corps de cartouche ;prolonger une seconde paroi interne à partir de la première paroi interne à proximité de l'insert,mouler un second diamètre de la seconde paroi interne différent du premier diamètre ;mouler une inclinaison linéaire disposée entre le premier diamètre et le second diamètre ;former une chambre à propulseur (340) à partir des première et seconde parois internes, l'inclinaison entre les premier et second diamètres réduisant un volume de la chambre à propulseur (340) contenant le propulseur propulsant la balle (50) à des vitesses subsoniques.
- Procédé selon la revendication 6, dans lequel le moulage du second diamètre comprend l'étape consistant à mouler le premier diamètre supérieur au second diamètre.
- Procédé selon la revendication 6, dans lequel le moulage du second diamètre comprend l'étape consistant à mouler le premier diamètre inférieur au second diamètre.
