Claims (8)

  1. A chair comprising a support frame (12) configured as a skid-base frame and including a pipe structure which, with respect to a vertical chair longitudinal central plane, has a pipe element (14A, 14B) each on both sides which forms a lateral boundary of a seatsection (16) and a back rest section (18), where the pipe elements (14A, 14B) respectivelyextend continuously with an axially extending slot (24) running along the seat section (16) and the back rest section (18), into which a foldable surface material (20) with a welt (28) arranged on the edges has been inserted, wherein the seat section (16) and the back rest section (18) are formed from the surface material,characterised in that the pipe elements (14A, 14B) have an end piece (26) pushed into them at their upper ends, at which the surface material (20) is folded over downwards towards the back.
  2. The chair according to claim 1, characterised in that the end piece (26) is formed in two parts and in that the surface material (20) is clamped between the two parts of the end piece (26).
  3. The chair according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterised in that the pipe elements (14A, 14B) are each rectangular in cross-section.
  4. The chair according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterised in that the skids arranged on both sides of the pipe elements (14A, 14B) are connected with each other via a cross-member (15).
