Stackable chairs are often used as row chairs for hall seating. These chairs are preferably equipped with connecting elements in order to mechanically detachably connect adjacent chairs. Such chairs are called row chairs.

This chair has on each side a bow-shaped inward and downward cross strut as a stacking aid, which when stacking two chairs in a space between the seat and the associated side part immersed until it rests on two cross struts of the seat part. The width of the free space is dimensioned such that the bow-shaped cross strut rests on the one hand on the seat surface and on the other hand on the side part and thus ensures a stable stack of chairs. Furthermore, the chair has a bow-shaped, outwardly directed connecting element on each side part, the connecting elements being complementary to one another in order to be able to connect two adjacent chairs laterally to form a fixed row of chairs.

The object of the invention is to further develop a stackable chair in such a way that simple but stable stacking of a plurality of chairs is ensured with as little effort as possible.

This object is achieved according to the invention in a chair of the type mentioned at the outset in that each side part has an armrest with a support web which merges into a downwardly directed support web on both sides, the respective cross strut being arranged between the two support webs.

A cross strut is provided on each side part, which is directed outward in the form of a bow, that is to say extends further outwards from above than the side part. When two chairs are stacked one on top of the other, the two arcuate bow sections of the respective cross struts of the upper chair encompass or enclose the two side parts of the lower chair. This creates a very stable stack of chairs, but stacking and unstacking is very easy. The respective cross strut is very easy to manufacture and also offers a visually appealing appearance.

The upper crossbar, which is shorter than the crossbar, serves as a stack support, ie the respective upper chair lies with its respective cross strut or the middle bracket section on the upper cross strut of the lower chair. With a suitable choice of the vertical distance between the cross strut and the upper cross strut, it is ensured that chairs stacked one above the other essentially only touch in the area of the cross struts, so that surface damage to the chair frames is reliably avoided. The cross struts are integrated into the armrests.

It is advantageously provided that the two supporting webs merge into the respective front or rear chair leg.

In terms of production technology, it is further provided that the armrest of each side part is formed in one piece with the respective front and rear chair legs. The respective side part can then e.g. can be made by bending from a metal pipe.

In order to enable stacking one on top of the other in a simple manner, it is provided that the distance between the front and rear chair legs of each side part increases from top to bottom.

Finally, it is very particularly preferably provided that the chair can be releasably connected to another chair on both sides to form a row of chairs. For this purpose, the chair frame can be designed roughly as it is made out of FR 1 333 136 A is known.

A stackable chair is generally designated 1 in the drawings.
