  • Referring to FIGS.1 and 2, an insulation and strength reinforcement structure for a sliding window 100 according to the present invention includes: a window frame 110 having a plurality of indoor and outdoor rails 111a and 111b disposed along the longitudinal direction thereof, a pair of indoor window sashes 120 slidingly coupled to the indoor rails 111a in such a manner as to be open and closed, and a pair of outdoor window sashes 130 slidingly coupled to the outdoor rails 111b in such a manner as to be open and closed, wherein a profile P1 constituting the window frame 110 has a heat insulating material 210 inserted into the indoor side of the internal portion thereof and a metal reinforcing material 220 inserted into the outdoor side of the internal portion thereof.
  • Hereinafter, an explanation on the configuration of the insulation and strength reinforcement structure for the sliding window 100 according to the present invention will be in more detail given.
  • First, the window frame 110 is formed of a rectangular frame through a plurality of profiles P1 made by means of extrusion molding. In this case, each profile P1 has a plurality of space portions S1 and S2 formed at the internal portion thereof. The heat insulating material 210 and the metal reinforcing material 220 are inserted into the space portions S1 and S2 in such a manner as to be spaced apart from each other at the indoor and outdoor sides of the profile P1.
  • Referring in more detail to FIG.3, the heat insulating material 210 is insertedly mounted into the first space portion S1 formed at the indoor side of the profile P1 constituting the window frame 110, thereby improving the insulation performance and wind resistant performance of the window 100. In this case, preferably, the heat insulating material 210 has a honeycomb structure having a plurality of holes formed in the longitudinal direction of the profile P1. The heat insulating material 210 having the honeycomb structure is made of any one of paper, ceramic, synthetic resin, and aluminum.
  • Further, the honeycomb structure is generally made in an extrusion molding way. Each hole of the honeycomb structure does not need a hexagon shape necessarily, and may have a polygonal shape such as a square shape and so on. The honeycomb structure has some advantages in that the surface is large, the weight is light, and the anisotropy of the mechanical strength is high. Accordingly, the honeycomb structure is generally used for the heat insulating material and light weight structure material.
  • The metal reinforcing material 220 is insertedly mounted into the second space portion S2 formed at the outdoor side of the profile P1 constituting the window frame 110, thereby improving the sagging and bending prevention and wind resistant performance of the window 100. In this case, preferably, the metal reinforcing material 220 is formed of a bar having the length corresponding to the horizontal and vertical sizes of the profile P1. The metal reinforcing material 220 is made of any one of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • So as to improve the heat insulation performance and wind resistant performance, on the other hand, the indoor window sashes 120 and the outdoor window sashes 130 have different reinforcing materials inserted into the interiors of the profiles P2 and P3 constituting the frames thereof.
  • For example, the profiles P2 constituting the indoor window sashes 120 have a first reinforcing material 310 made of fiber reinforced plastic FRP insertedly mounted into the internal portions thereof. The FRP is made by combining thermosetting resin like unsaturated polyester, epoxy resin and so on with aromatic nylon fibers like glass, carbon, Kevlar and so on. The FRP has some advantages in that it is stronger than iron and lighter than aluminum, it is not rotten, and it is easy in machining process.
  • Further, the profiles P3 constituting the outdoor window sashes 130 have a second reinforcing material 320 made of a metal material insertedly mounted into the internal portions thereof. In this case, preferably, the second reinforcing material 320 is made of any one of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • That is, the indoor window sashes 120 are generally brought into contact with the indoor space side. Accordingly, the first reinforcing material 310 made of the FRP is applied to improve the heat insulation performance of the indoor window sashes 120.
  • Contrarily, the outdoor window sashes 130 are generally brought into direct contact with the external air of the outdoor space side, and thus, they need relatively high wind resistant performance. Accordingly, the second reinforcing material 320 made of the metal material is applied to improve the wind resistant performance of the outdoor window sashes 130.
  • Referring to FIG.4, the first reinforcing material 310 is applied to the four profiles P2 constituting the indoor window sashes 120, respectively, but the present invention is not limited to the preferred embodiment. For example, the first reinforcing material 310 may be restrictedly inserted into the horizontally disposed profiles P2 having relatively lower load than the vertically disposed profiles P2. That is, the first reinforcing material 310 made of the FRP is inserted into the horizontal profiles P2 having relatively lower necessity in structural reinforcement than the vertical profiles P2, and the second reinforcing material 320 made of the metal material is inserted into the vertically disposed profiles P2.
  • Under the above-mentioned structure, the sliding window 100 to which the insulation and strength reinforcement structure for a sliding window according to the present invention is applied can be selectively adopted and used at the places where high insulation performance and wind resistant performance are needed. Especially, after considering the climate of the area to which the window 100 is installed and the wind pressure caused by the height of the building at which the window 100 is installed, appropriate reinforcing materials are differently applied to the window frame 110, the indoor window sashes 120 and the outdoor window sashes 130, thereby providing the window 100 having the optimized insulation performance and wind resistant performance.
  • [Example 1]
  • Hereinafter, the heat insulation and air tightness performance of the window to which the present invention is applied will be in more detail explained with reference to tests. FIGS.5 to 10 are test reports of the sliding window to which the insulation and strength reinforcement structure for a sliding window according to the present invention is adopted.
  • As shown in FIGS.5 to 10, test methods are based on window insulation (KS F 2278:2008) and air tightness (KS F 2292:2008).
  • The heat transmission coefficient of the window 100 is 0.934W/(m2ㆍK) after the test environment where a temperature is 23.0±5.0℃ and humidity is 50±10%R.H.(For your reference, the heat transmission coefficient is a calorie passing through a unit surface material (wall, window and the like), and the lower the coefficient is, the better the heat insulation performance is).
  • Further, the air tightness of the window 100 is 0.40m3/(hㆍm2) after the test environment where a temperature is 23.4±0.3℃ and humidity is 49±1%R.H. Accordingly, it can be appreciated that first grade is assigned to the window to which the present invention is applied in view of the energy consumption efficiency grade and the air tightness performance.
  • While the present invention has been described with reference to the particular illustrative embodiments, it is not to be restricted by the embodiments but only by the appended claims. It is to be appreciated that those skilled in the art can change or modify the embodiments without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention.
