Definitions

  • the invention relates to a siphon, in particular an odor trap for a urinal, a floor drain and / or a shower tray or the like, with a tubular inlet and at least one outlet, the outlet opening of which can be opened and closed by means of a valve opposite a connectable drain.
  • the EP 1 972 727 A1 discloses a waterless sanitary facility such as, in particular, a waterless urine system having a urinal basin or a urinal stand or a bowl as well as a drain or outlet, the opening of which on the pelvic side is largely covered by a cover, in such a way that the outflow of liquid from the basin or the bowl, takes place through openings, such as slots, grooves, pores and the like, in a collecting space formed under the cover.
  • a tubular, round housing is provided as the liquid outlet from the collecting space has at least one lateral opening which is arranged in the pipe wall and which is covered by a loose membrane or film lying on the outside of the pipe.
  • the EP 1 972 727 A1 a siphon for a waterless sanitary facility, which has a tubular housing as a liquid outlet pipe with at least one lateral opening in a pipe wall, the opening being covered like a valve by a flexible membrane or film.
  • Liquid introduced into the siphon from above, in particular urine, is divided by a roof-shaped housing part that includes the side openings and directed to the openings, where the liquid passes through the flutter valves formed by the membrane and drains off.
  • the flutter valves rest against the outside of the tubular housing and close the openings in an airtight manner.
  • U.S. 6,318,397 A a siphon with a central drain pipe that has side openings. The openings are to be closed with a flexible membrane.
  • the U.S. 743,986 shows a floor drain with a siphon, which is also closed by a valve.
  • the valve has a valve flap and a valve lever, the valve lever being connected at both ends in an articulated manner to a housing of the siphon and to the valve flap. A distance cam on the valve lever ensures a straight seat of the valve flap.
  • the invention is based on the object of creating a siphon of the type mentioned at the beginning, which can be reliably closed to avoid escaping odors.
  • a siphon in particular an odor trap for a urinal, a floor drain and / or a shower tray or the like, comprises a tubular inlet and at least one outlet, the outlet opening of which can be opened and closed by means of a valve opposite a connectable drain.
  • the valve comprises a valve lever which is articulated in the area of the inlet and has an associated valve surface, the valve surface closing the outlet opening in a form-fitting and / or force-fitting manner.
  • the tubular inlet does not have to have a round cross-section, but can be shaped as desired, for example rectangular. It can also be arranged or constructed on the circumference, for example on a shower tray, which can also be constructed flush with the floor.
  • the outlet opening can in particular be present in a circumferential surface. The invention preferably includes such arrangements in which the outlet opening is present below the bearing point of the valve lever or the valve flap, so that the valve flap closes the outlet opening essentially controlled by gravity.
  • the valve lever can be, for example, a one-armed valve lever which is arranged such that it can pivot in the area of the inlet is and, due to its weight, is in such a position that the outlet opening is effectively closed, that is to say in particular odor-tight, when no counterforce is acting, i.e. no liquid is flowing through the siphon.
  • the seal between the valve lever and the outlet with the outlet opening can only take place on the basis of the geometric design and / or a corresponding material pairing.
  • a corresponding design and arrangement of the valve lever which may also be deflected several times, it is not excluded to provide the outlet opening at the end or opposite the inlet.
  • the outlet with its outlet opening preferably points in a direction that is laterally aligned with respect to the inlet.
  • valve surface When no liquid is flowing through the siphon, the valve surface lies above the outlet opening in such a way that it is hermetically sealed so that no odor escapes through the siphon from a channel to which the siphon is connected.
  • the valve surface which has a contour adapted to the outlet opening or the outlet, is pressed tightly due to the force of weight, in particular of the valve lever, the position of the joint, the length of the valve lever and the weight distribution being suitably selected to generate a corresponding moment, in order to exert the greatest possible pressure on the valve surface and at the same time ensure an exit of liquid, even in the smallest amount, through the pressure of the liquid acting on the valve surface to open the outlet opening.
  • the sealing valve surface can be formed directly on the valve lever or assigned to a component connected to the valve lever.
  • the inlet can have a slotted or perforated cover be provided, which prevents the penetration of objects that could possibly lead to a blockage of the siphon.
  • the alignment of the outlet opening in a position of use of the siphon is expedient in terms of flow technology in order to drain off liquid.
  • a seal is arranged between the valve surface and a sealing surface of the outlet, which ring surrounds the outlet opening and is preferably made of an elastomer.
  • the seal can be arranged as an annular seal on the valve surface or the sealing surface.
  • valve surface and the sealing surface expediently have corresponding geometries, in particular the outer sealing surface and the inner valve surface or vice versa match.
  • valve lever and / or the valve cover is in an alternative embodiment by an actuator, in particular a spring, an electromagnet device, a piston-cylinder arrangement, for opening and / or closing the Outlet opening acted upon.
  • actuator in particular a spring, an electromagnet device, a piston-cylinder arrangement, for opening and / or closing the Outlet opening acted upon.
  • valve surface is part of a valve flap connected to the valve lever.
  • the valve flap is coupled to a free end of the valve lever via a hinge in such a way that the valve flap extends on one side of the hinge between the valve lever and the siphon.
  • the joint can be designed in such a way that the valve flap and / or the valve lever can be exchanged.
  • the joint between the siphon and the valve lever and / or between the valve lever and the valve flap is designed as a hinge joint.
  • the stub axles can be rotatably mounted in corresponding fork-shaped clip receptacles.
  • At least one spacer cam effective for closing the outlet opening is arranged between the valve lever and the valve plate.
  • the one on that Spacer cam provided at a distance from the joint exerts pressure on the valve plate in the direction of the outlet opening.
  • the joint is expediently formed in the area of the inlet on a clamp which, in particular, engages the siphon with a force fit, the valve lever and the valve flap extending on the outside of the siphon.
  • the clip can simply be clipped on in the area of the inlet and is easily exchangeable.
  • the sealing surface is convexly curved in its longitudinal extension.
  • odor traps with a flat or straight sealing surface are also included.
  • Such a straight or configuration can be given, for example, in the case of an end-side outlet opening, in particular with a corresponding collar or a circumferential outlet opening of a pipe with a polygonal cross-section, for example a square pipe.
  • the valve flap or the valve lever then has a correspondingly planar course, at least in the area of its seals and / or sealing surface or valve surface.
  • the inlet is preferably formed by an opening at the end of a pipe which, in its further course, has at least one bend, the free end of which forms the outlet opening, which is preferably surrounded by the sealing surface. Accordingly, the siphon does not have a housing and the liquid flows through a pipe bend, as it were, which can be closed at the end by the valve. If several outlet openings are to be provided, it is possible to branch the inlet into a corresponding number of pipe bends.
  • the tube can also be constructed in several parts or from individual sections, such as Be composed of pipe sections and / or pipe bends. It is also possible to use a tube which is closed at the end in the outlet area and has at least one lateral, that is to say circumferential, outlet opening.
  • the pipe runs in a Y-shape.
  • the tube thus comprises an inlet and two approximately opposite outlet openings. It goes without saying that the design of further outlet openings which extend in the radial direction is also possible and lies within the scope of the invention.
  • the at least one outlet opening is preferably located in a flat pipe wall section.
  • the inlet is formed by an end-side opening of a pipe, the opposite end of which, from which a cone or a pyramid extends into the interior of the pipe, is closed, wherein at least one outlet opening is formed on the circumferential side in the area of the closed end face.
  • the inlet can also be provided with an angle piece and extend, for example, at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the further pipe run.
  • the inlet has a bulbous cross-section for the relatively quick discharge of a relatively large amount of liquid.
  • siphon is preferably used on an, in particular waterless, urinal or a floor drain or a bidet or a bathtub or shower or a wash basin.
  • odor trap can also be operated in connection with a liquid barrier layer without departing from the scope of the invention.
  • an adapter plate provided with markings and / or groove-shaped depressions is arranged on the top, in particular at the inlet, the markings and / or depressions serving as predetermined breaking points and / or aids for separating edge-side protrusions to reduce the size of the adapter plate.
  • Commercially available floor drains often have grid dimensions to which the respective adapter plate for installing the odor trap is to be adapted.
  • the adapter plate used in this context for a siphon which extends around the inlet and which is more or less centered in an installation housing of the floor drain is provided with the markings or groove-shaped depressions that represent cross-sectional weakening and make it easier for the craftsman to reduce the size of the adapter plate by cutting the adapter plate with scissors or a knife in the area of the depressions, for example, or by breaking the adapter plate along the depressions designed as predetermined breaking points.
  • a suitable lattice-shaped cover is often offered by a floor drain manufacturer, which is placed on the floor drain above the adapter plate of the siphon.
  • the siphon after the Figures 1 to 23 is installed, for example, as an odor trap in a waterless urinal and has a tubular inlet 1 and at least one outlet 2 pointing in a lateral direction, an outlet opening 3 of the outlet 2 being opened and closed by means of a valve 4 opposite a connectable drain of a sewer system.
  • the valve 4 essentially comprises a valve lever 6 with an associated valve surface 7 for sealingly closing the outlet opening 3, which is articulated via a first hinge joint 5 in the area of the inlet 1, i.e. in a position of use of the siphon above the outlet 2.
  • the valve surface 7 is a component a valve flap 9 which is connected to the valve lever 6 via a second hinge joint 8 and which has a seal 10 made of an elastomer.
  • valve flap 9 corresponds to that of a sealing surface 11 which surrounds the outlet opening 3 and which can, for example, be part of a housing 12 of the siphon.
  • the two hinge joints 5, 8 can be clipped on and comprise fork-shaped recesses 13 into which a hinge pin 14 is inserted.
  • the valve flap 9 is mounted on the valve lever 6 in such a way that it runs essentially between the valve lever 6 and the siphon.
  • a spacer cam 15 arranged on the valve lever 6 is supported on the valve flap 9 on the side opposite the hinge joint 8 the acting torques and weight forces closes the outlet opening 3 in a sealed manner.
  • an actuator acting on the valve lever 6, which is embodied in the present case as a spring 22, can be arranged which has a causes increased locking force, whereby the spring 22 does not have to be absolutely necessary in every case.
  • the cup-shaped inlet 1, which has a bulbous cross section, is formed by an opening at the end of a tube 18 which has an arc 19 which opens into the outlet opening 3 surrounded by the sealing surface 11.
  • the recesses 13 of the hinge joint 5 supporting the valve lever 6 can be formed directly on the siphon or on a bracket 16 to be fixed on the siphon in the area of the inlet 1.
  • the clamp 16 is fastened to the siphon by a simple plug-in connection which, for example, can have additional retaining pins 20 which protrude radially from the siphon and engage in corresponding openings 21 on the clamp side.
  • the course of the tube 18 can, as in Fig. 7 shown, also be Y-shaped, so that the siphon has an inlet 1, which branches into two outlets 2 with corresponding outlet openings 3, to which, of course, two valves 4 are assigned.
  • Figures 8-14 show essentially different, non-inventive variants of the valve 4, the valve surface 7 being formed on the valve lever 6 or the valve flap 9 and the hinge joint 8 arranged between the valve lever 6 and the valve flap 9 being positioned differently.
  • Figures 15, 16 , 19 and 20 show a relatively slim design of the siphon in which two opposing valve levers 6 for closing the outlet openings 3 of the pipe 18 having the inlet 1 on the top are pivotably mounted with two bends 19 for the outlets 2, each via two retaining pins 20 attached to the housing 12 of the siphon . It is of course also possible to form the retaining pins 20 on the valve levers 6 and to provide recesses for the retaining pins 20 in the housing 12.
  • valve levers 6 Due to the arrangement and the design of the valve levers 6, torques act which cause the outlet openings 3 to be closed when there is no fluid pressure in the pipe 18 causing the outlet opening 3 to open.
  • the valve levers 6 are, for example, mounted opposite one another on the housing 2 and tapered in cross section in the shape of a shell and in the direction of their free end.
  • the housing 12 is tubular in cross section and tapers in the direction of its free end and thus the valve surface 7 is also curved in the area of the outlet opening 3.
  • seals can be arranged between the valve levers 6 and the housing 12, which either rest on the inner surfaces of the valve levers 6 or protrude beyond the outer contour of the valve levers 6.
  • the siphon can be inserted into a collar 23 with peripheral lips 24, which is provided with a cover 25.
  • the collar 23 is in particular fixed directly in the urinal and enables the siphon to be held in an exchangeable manner. After the cover 25 has been lifted off, a fragrance stone can be inserted into the collar 23 or the siphon.
  • the flap-like valve levers 6 are provided with integrated finger-shaped seals 10 which, in the closed state, rest on the housing 12, either essentially linearly or flat.
  • valve levers 6 are pivotably mounted, which close the associated outlet openings 3 by means of their valve surfaces 7.
  • the valve levers 6 are designed and mounted in such a way that, due to the effective torques, they close the associated outlet openings 3 so effectively and tightly that no odor can escape from the duct and, at the same time, the opening of the outlet openings 3 when there is a liquid pressure by a corresponding pivoting of the Valve lever 6 is ensured.
  • An adapter plate 26 which centers the siphon with respect to the floor drain 27 and has markings 28 and groove-shaped depressions 29 extends around the inlet 1. Above the adapter plate 26 there is a lattice-shaped cover plate, not shown, which rests on a shoulder of the floor drain 27 and is flush with this on the top in a known manner. The cover plate is accessible.
  • the adapter plate 26 is provided with the depressions 29 which weaken the cross section of the cover plate 26 and which are formed in the form of grooves and serve as predetermined breaking points or cutting aids in order to attach the adapter plate 26 to the Adjust the size of the floor drain 27.
  • the depressions 29 can also be perforated, after which the separation of excess protrusions is further simplified.
  • the recesses 29 in the adapter plate 26 can run rectangular, in particular square, and / or circular, in particular concentric, around the center of the adapter plate 26.
  • the markings 28 are also intended to facilitate the cutting of the adapter plate 26.
