Definitions
- the present invention relates to a slurry and a method for producing an aluminum diffusion layer.
- diffusion layers are also used in which chemical elements diffuse into the metallic surface to be protected and / or deposit on the surface in order to achieve an enrichment of the corresponding element on the surface to be protected.
- the diffused element then provides, together with the alloy constituents of the base material, corresponding properties in order to be able to operate the component at the desired high temperatures.
- a corresponding aluminum diffusion layer can be produced by the application of a slurry containing aluminum - containing powder particles which provide the aluminum for the diffusion process, wherein after drying and / or hardening of the slurry on the surface to be treated, the aluminum in the subsequent Diffusion annealing from the dried slurry layer diffused into the material.
- the application of such a slurry by brushing, dipping or spraying is very simple, so that such a method for producing an aluminum diffusion layer is technically interesting. In particular, components can also be easily repaired by the simple application.
- slips for carrying out an aluminum diffusion process have, in addition to aluminum-containing powder particles, a binder which essentially provides the liquid phase for forming the slip.
- a binder which essentially provides the liquid phase for forming the slip.
- such a slurry must also be designed to that effect be that the aluminum - containing powder is not oxidized by the binder as possible, so that the subsequent diffusion process is not complicated by the presence of alumina.
- additional oxides such as silica, or chromates, dichromates or phosphates in the aqueous and acidic binders.
- chromates have been used in the past, on the one hand to increase the corrosion resistance of the corresponding treated metallic component and on the other hand also to inhibit the oxidation of the metallic aluminum in the slurry.
- chromium (VI) compounds are extremely toxic and detrimental to health, so there is an increasing tendency to replace these components in the slip compositions.
- Examples are in the EP 2 060 653 A2 . US Pat. No. 7,896,962 B2 . WO 2010/134918 A1 , US 7,270,852 B2 . US 6,036,995 or WO 93/023247 A1 described. Further examples are in EP 1,505,176 A1 and EP 2,014,785 described.
- the silicon-aluminum alloys as particle constituents in a slurry and the use of glycols as organic binders to produce stable slips for the production of aluminum diffusion layers, which are free of toxic and harmful Cr (VI ) - get along connections.
- the silicon as an alloying component of the aluminum-containing powder and as an admixture in the form of silicon dioxide in particular a passivation function attributed to the metallic aluminum components.
- the slip should be easy to prepare and use.
- the invention proposes to provide a slip in which the stability of the slip composition and in particular of the aluminum metallic parts is increased by the fact that the aluminum - containing powder used in the slip to provide the aluminum has at least partly powder particles which coated with silicon.
- the proportion of silicon-coated powder particles can range from small proportions in the single-digit percentage range of the proportion of aluminum particles up to 100% proportion of the aluminum particles.

Description
EP 2 060 653 A2 ,US 7,896,962 B2 ,WO 2010/134918 A1 .US 7,270,852 B2 ,US 6,036,995 oderWO 93/023247 A1 EP 1,505,176 A1 andEP 2,014,785 beschrieben.
