Dies ist auch darauf zurückzuführen, dass innerhalb von Leuchten die LED-Lichtquellen üblicherweise in spezieller geschützter Weise angeordnet werden müssen. Ein Grund hierfür ist, dass die LEDs möglichst vor so genannten ESD-Schäden, also Schäden die auf eine elektrostatische Entladung zurückzuführen sind, geschützt werden sollten. Ferner hat sich herausgestellt, dass ein effizienter LED-Betrieb insbesondere bei Spannungen im Hochvoltbereich, also bei etwa 220V erzielt werden kann. Dementsprechend liegen an den LED-Platinen in diesen Fällen Spannungen an, die bei einer versehentlichen Berührung zu einem elektrischen Schlag führen können, der sich durchaus gesundheitsschädlich auswirken kann. In der Freigabestellung hingegen wirken die Vorsprünge des Verriegelungselements lediglich noch mit den entsprechenden Rastelementen des Leuchtmittel-Moduls zusammen.
