Definitions

  • the invention relates to an injection device for injecting a medium, in particular for injecting fuel into the exhaust gas line of an internal combustion engine for regeneration of a particle filter, having the features of the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such an injection device comprises an injection valve and a valve holder for receiving the injection valve.
  • the valve holder is penetrated by a bore into which the injection valve can be inserted.
  • the valve holder further forms a cavity surrounding the bore, which can be supplied with compressed air via a compressed air connection to assist the injection and to cool the injection valve.
  • the application of compressed air causes a fine atomization of the medium and thus a spray optimization. If the medium is, for example, fuel, compressed air-assisted fuel injection can result in better atomization of the fuel and thus more efficient particle filter regeneration, which promotes compliance with steadily increasing requirements with regard to permissible exhaust emissions.
  • the compressed air can be used to cool the injector. Cooling has so far been achieved by water cooling, as is often the case with fuel injectors, cooling by means of compressed air can replace water cooling.
  • the publication EP 1 008 732 A1 describes a device for post-treating exhaust gases of an excess-pressure internal combustion engine, the device comprising a metering device for the controlled introduction of reducing agent into an exhaust gas line upstream of a reduction catalytic converter and means for cooling the metering device.
  • the metering device has an injection valve, which is surrounded by a directly connected to the exhaust pipe double-walled valve receiving body, wherein for cooling the injector compressed air via a compressed air generating device in an air gap between an outer wall and an inner wall of the valve receiving body is blown.
  • an injection valve a conventional low-pressure gasoline injector is used.
  • the valve receiving body is firmly connected, for example welded, to the exhaust pipe. From the US 2009/0000605 For example, a regeneration arrangement for injecting fuel into the exhaust tract is known, which has a heart device.
  • the present invention seeks to provide an injection device, which can be used variably and also easy and inexpensive to produce.
  • the proposed injection device for injecting a medium in particular for injecting fuel into the exhaust line of an internal combustion engine, comprises an injection valve and a valve holder, wherein the valve holder is penetrated by a bore for receiving the injection valve and forms a bore surrounding the cavity, which in support of Injection and cooling of the injector via a compressed air connection with compressed air is chargeable.
  • the cavity is formed as an annular space arranged concentrically to the bore, which is limited on the exhaust gas side by a cooling plate with at least one compressed air outlet opening, wherein the cooling plate is fixedly connected to the valve holder.
  • the valve holder and the injection valve together form a modular injection device which is suitable both for injecting fuel and for injecting a reducing agent into the exhaust gas line of an internal combustion engine.
  • the injection device is thus versatile.
  • the valve When used as a fuel injection valve, the valve is preferably designed as a passive valve, which can be controlled via an applied control pressure.
  • the modular design of the injector allows the replacement of the valves, so that other types of valves can be used.
  • the cooling plate is cup-shaped and forms an approach with which the injection device can be inserted into a housing part or an exhaust pipe. This means that the cooling plate has a bulge to the outside and thus projects beyond the stop surface.
  • the cup shape of the cooling plate allows insertion of the injection valve deep into the exhaust pipe, so that a good spray distribution is effected. If the injection device comprises a sealing unit which is guided at least partially over the cooling plate, the shape of the sealing unit is largely adapted to form a constant air gap between the cooling plate and the sealing unit of the shape of the cooling plate.
  • the formation of the cavity as an annular space simplifies the manufacture of the valve holder.
  • the annular space is introduced on an end face of the valve holder by a material removing process, such as drilling or milling, or by a shaping process.
  • the closing of the annulus is done by placing the cooling plate.
  • the valve holder is formed in a flange and has at least one bore for receiving a fastening screw, by means of which the valve holder can be fixed to a housing part of the internal combustion engine or to an exhaust pipe connected to the internal combustion engine.
  • the valve holder can therefore be flanged to a housing part or exhaust pipe and fastened by means of the screw in a simple manner.
  • the valve holder has in the region of a stop surface a sealing unit, which is guided at least partially over the cooling plate, so that an insulating air gap is formed between the cooling plate and the sealing unit.
  • the sealing unit comes to lie in the attachment of the valve holder to a housing part or on an exhaust pipe between the stop surface and the housing part or the exhaust pipe and thus seals the gap between these two components.
  • the sealing unit at least partially is guided over the cooling plate away, so this projects in the radial direction relative to the valve longitudinal axis, an air gap between the cooling plate and the sealing unit is formed, which serves as insulation.
  • the sealing unit which is at least partially guided over the cooling plate, can be used to guide the compressed air flow.
  • the injection valve inserted into the valve holder at least slightly surmount the cooling plate.
  • the cooling plate viewed from the exhaust pipe, lies behind the injection valve.
  • the exiting the cooling plate compressed air can capture in this way the entire spray cone of the medium to be injected, so that a fine atomization is achieved.
  • the compressed air preferably mixed outside of the injection valve and outside of the valve holder with the medium to be injected.
  • the injection valve for releasing at least one injection opening has an outwardly opening valve closing element.
  • an outwardly opening valve closing element reliable opening of the valve is permanently ensured since any deposits in the opening area are blown up with each opening stroke of the valve closing element.
  • the cooling plate has a plurality of compressed air outlet openings, which are arranged annularly, preferably at the same distance from each other and / or at the same distance from the injection valve.
  • the in the Fig. 1 schematically illustrated injection device serves to inject fuel into the exhaust line 1 of an internal combustion engine. It comprises an outwardly opening injection valve 2, which is received in a bore 4 of a valve holder 3 and connected via the valve holder 3 with a housing part 10 of the internal combustion engine.
  • the valve holder 3 is formed for this purpose flange-shaped and has holes 9 for receiving fastening screws, by means of which the valve holder 3 on the housing part 10 can be fixed.
  • the injection device further comprises a sealing unit 12 which is placed between the stop surface 11 and the housing part 10.
  • the injection valve 2 receiving bore 4 is surrounded by a formed in the valve holder 3 annulus 5, which is fed via at least one compressed air connection 6 with compressed air.
  • a compressed air connection 6 with compressed air.
  • only one compressed-air connection 6 can be provided or the other connection - if present, for example when using a valve holder 3, which can alternatively be connected to a water-cooling circuit - be shut down.
  • the annular space 5 extends to the exhaust gas side end face of the valve holder 3 and is covered by a cooling plate 7 to the exhaust line 1 out.
  • the cooling plate 7 is fixedly connected to the valve holder 3 and has a plurality of compressed air outlet openings 8 which are arranged in an annular manner around the injection valve 2 received in the bore 4.
  • the cooling plate 7 is cup-shaped, so that it forms over the stop surface 11 projecting lug 14, which projects into the exhaust system 1 of the internal combustion engine.
  • the cooling plate 7 is also still dominated by the injection valve 2 in such a way that a valve closing element 15 of the outwardly opening injection valve 2 - seen from the exhaust line 1 from - comes to rest in front of the cooling plate 7. In this way, the complete, over at least one injection port (not shown) exiting spray is detected and atomized by the compressed air, whereby a good spray treatment is ensured.
  • sealing unit 12 is guided over the cooling plate 7 away, so that between the cooling plate 7 and the sealing unit 12, an air gap 13 is formed, which acts insulating, so that in the air gap 13, a lower temperature than prevails in the exhaust line 1.
  • the sealing unit 12 is shaped such that it directs the compressed air in the direction of the spray jet.
  • the flow profile of the compressed air outlet openings 8 flowing compressed air is indicated by an arrow with the reference numeral 16 in the Fig. 2 shown.
  • the compressed air impinges in the exhaust line 1 on the spray jet or spray cone 17, which is characterized by a spray angle ⁇ .
  • the injection angle ⁇ depends inter alia on the specific design of the at least one injection opening (not shown).
  • the position of the compressed air outlet openings 8 in the cooling plate 7 and their number n is adapted to the requirements. The same applies to the diameter d of the compressed air outlet openings 8, which are designed here as throttle bores.
  • the injection device according to the invention can also serve for the injection of another medium, for example a reducing agent.
  • the device is attached to an exhaust pipe connected to the internal combustion engine. Further, possible modifications may relate in particular to the specific configuration of the cooling plate and / or the sealing unit.
