Description

The present invention relates to an electrical connector for electrical conductor pieces, in particular for flexible electrical conductor pieces.

Known connectors for flexible electrical leads, such as flexible printed circuit boards or LED strips, are clamp-based and typically constructed such that an operator inserts an end of an electrical lead into a clamp and presses it against a resilient contact member by means of a rotatably mounted knob, such as it in the publication EP 0 773 608 B1 is described. Furthermore, connectors for flexible printed circuit boards are known in which the flexible printed circuit boards are fixed after being inserted into a connection area by means of a pressure means under a mounted cover, as described in the publication DE 10 2007 063 217 A1 and DE-A1-10065972 is described.

Clamp-based fasteners, however, require high clamping forces so that an electrical lead can not be unintentionally withdrawn. In addition, the fastening system must be constructed relatively stiff, which is expensive to manufacture.

In addition, plug and socket contacts can be used for attachment of electrical line pieces, which are soldered for example to a flexible circuit board. However, an additional strain relief is always necessary in order to avoid unintentional separation of the electrical contacts.

It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide an electrical connector with improved attachment characteristics.

This object is solved by the features of the independent claims. Advantageous forms of further development are the subject of the dependent claims, the drawings and the description.

The invention is based on the finding that the above object can be achieved by an electrical connector with a fastening mandrel. The fastening mandrel can For example, in an electrical line piece, for example, in a flexible circuit board or its substrate, penetrate and secure it against slipping out of the connector. For this purpose, the fastening mandrel can be found in a breakthrough of the electrical line piece, for example, a substrate recording. The breakthrough can either be prefabricated or produced by means of the fastening mandrel, which can be pointed thereto. In this way, the tracks of the line pieces are not damaged, so that they can be used further. For electrical contacting of the conductor tracks electrical connections, such as spring contacts, can be used.

According to one aspect, the invention relates to an electrical connector for electrical conductor pieces, in particular for flexible electrical conductor pieces, with a connection sleeve for receiving a first line piece, and a fastening element with a first fastening mandrel for form-fitting fastening of a first line piece in the connection sleeve. The fastening element can be placed on the connecting sleeve in order to fix the first line piece in a form-fitting manner by means of the first fastening mandrel in the connecting sleeve.

By the term of the positive fastening is meant any mechanical fastening which restricts a mobility of the electrical line piece with respect to the fastening mandrel.

As a result, flexible printed circuit boards or LED strips can be connected in the smallest of spaces. Furthermore, no soldering process is necessary for this. In addition, only small forces for contacting electrical traces of the electrical line piece are necessary because the strain relief is secured by the mounting pin. Due to the use of the mounting mandrel, the electrical lead is efficiently protected against being pulled out of the electrical connector. Thus, for example, LED strips or flexible printed circuit boards or generally flexible pipe sections connected by the electrical connector can be secured and held in the connector.
