    in that arranged in the housing (7) of the monitoring device (4) is a communication device (17) comprising at least one transmitter unit (15) which is arranged and embodied so as to be suitable for communicating with externally arranged devices.

    in that the communication device (17) comprises a receiver device (16) for receiving data from externally arranged sensing devices and storing said data in the memory unit (5).
  11. Train coupling (20) or train front end (21) according to one of Claims 1 to 10,
    characterized
    in that arranged in the housing (7) is a real-time clock (18) which is coupled to the process and/or memory unit (5) in such a way that the individually acquired variables are provided with a timestamp.
  12. Train coupling (20) or train front end (21) according to one of Claims 1 to 11,
    characterized
    in that the monitoring device (4) comprises devices for acquiring actual values of at least one variable from the group mentioned below
    - a variable which at least indirectly describes a state of the surroundings of the train coupling component or train front end component
    - a variable which at least indirectly describes a mode of operation of the rail vehicle.
  13. Train coupling (20) or train front end (21) according to one of Claims 1 to 12,
    characterized
    in that the at least one sensing device (8) is embodied as an element of the group mentioned below:
    - electrical sensor
    - binary sensor
    - radio-based sensor.
