At about an apex of the flight of the device 100, the frequency increases to between about 3600 Hz to 3500 Hz for about one second. Thus, for about the first two seconds of flight, the frequency generated by the whistle is from 3200 Hz to 3000 Hz and then for one second, the frequency is between 3600 Hz to 3500 Hz. It will be appreciated that this is a unique sound associated with an elastically hand-launched projectile. It follows that a user can create an air of festivity usually associated with fireworks. Recently, fireworks have become controversial because of safety issues and the often dramatic effects they can have on pets.

  • a user can store the device 100 in the receptacle 172 by first folding the vanes 150 so that the spigots 160 are received through the openings 166 and the locating formations 174 are received through the slots 162. It will be appreciated that it is not strictly necessary for the user to have the spigots 160 extending through the slots 162.
  • Simply folding the vanes 150 and inserting the device 100 into the receptacle 172 facilitates retention of the appropriate shape of the vanes 150 when the device 100 is withdrawn from the receptacle 172. This is enhanced by the offset described above, that serves to ensure that the vanes 150 are folded to facilitate a return to an appropriate position when the device 100 is withdrawn from the receptacle.
  • the locating formations 174 also serve to ensure that the vanes 150 are maintained in their optimal for orientation since the vanes 150 are not released from the formations 174 while the device 100 is being used.
  • the vane member 148 can be of a number of different materials.
  • the vane member 148 can be of a plastics material that carries a reflective coating.
  • the device 100 when used in sunlight, the device 100 can be particularly noticeable.
  • the LED when used at night and with the LED, the LED can shine onto the reflective coating creating an effect similar to fireworks. This coupled with the whistling sounds described above can impart a festive atmosphere and can enhance the enjoyment of the device 100

Claims (12)

  1. Appareil de divertissement (10 ; 100) qui comprend
    un corps allongé (12) qui inclut une partie avant (14) et une partie arrière (16) ;
    caractérisé en ce que l'appareil de divertissement (10 ; 100) comprend
    un composant sifflet (22) dans la partie avant (14), le composant sifflet (22) ayant une paroi avant (48 ; 120), un plancher (44 ; 122), une paroi arrière (46 ; 124), une paire de parois latérales (28 ; 128) et un plafond (42 ; 126) qui définissent ensemble une chambre de sifflet (24 ; 118), une partie avant (130) du plafond (42 ; 126) se terminant au niveau d'un bord tourné vers l'arrière (34 ; 134) et une partie arrière (132) du plafond (42 ; 126) se terminant au niveau d'un bord tourné vers l'avant (36 ; 136), les bords (34, 36 ; 134, 136) définissant une ouverture de sifflet, en tant que fente (26, 138) s'étendant entre les parois latérales, en communication avec la chambre de sifflet (24 ; 118), le bord tourné vers l'arrière (34 ; 134) de la partie avant (48 ; 130) du plafond (42 ; 126) étant une distance prédéterminée plus proche d'une paroi de fond du corps de sifflet que le bord tourné vers l'avant (36 ; 136) de la partie arrière (132), l'ouverture de sifflet (26 ; 138) et la chambre (24 ; 118) étant configurées de telle sorte que le composant sifflet (22) soit capable de générer au moins deux sons différents de type sifflement à des vitesses respectives différentes de l'appareil de divertissement (10 ; 100) ; et
    un stabilisateur de vol (68) agencé sur une partie arrière (16) du corps (12), le stabilisateur de vol (68) incluant une paire d'ailettes (70) qui s'étendent depuis la partie arrière (16) du corps (12) et sont configurées de telle sorte que l'appareil (10) tourne dans l'air alors que l'appareil (10) descend après avoir atteint un sommet après le lancement, le corps allongé (12) étant configuré de telle sorte qu'un utilisateur puisse lancer l'appareil (10) à une vitesse suffisante pour que le dispositif d'émission de son génère le son de type sifflement.
  2. Appareil de divertissement (10 ; 100) selon la revendication 1, dans lequel la partie avant (14) du corps (12) est généralement de forme cylindrique avec un diamètre entre environ 10 mm et 30 mm, la partie avant (14) du corps (12) comprenant une paire de structures en partie cylindriques sous forme de dispositif de retenue de sifflet (102) pour retenir le composant sifflet (22) et un dispositif de retenue de batterie (52 ; 104), le composant sifflet (22) et le dispositif de retenue de batterie (52 ; 104) étant reliés l'un à l'autre avec une charnière longitudinale (106) qui relie de manière pivotante les dispositifs de retenue de sifflet et de batterie (52 ; 102, 104) et avec un mécanisme de fixation (62 ; 108) agencé sur les structures pour permettre aux dispositifs de retenue d'être fixés l'un à l'autre de manière amovible.
  3. Appareil de divertissement (10 ; 100) selon la revendication 2, dans lequel le bord tourné vers l'arrière (34 ; 134) est entre environ 0,2 mm et 0,7 mm plus proche du plancher (44 ; 122) que le bord tourné vers l'avant (36 ; 136).
  4. Appareil de divertissement (10 ; 100) selon la revendication 2, dans lequel le volume de la chambre de sifflet (24 ; 118) est entre environ 0,7 cm3 et 1,8 cm3.
  5. Appareil de divertissement (10 ; 100) selon la revendication 4, dans lequel la hauteur totale de la chambre de sifflet (24 ; 118) est entre environ 8 mm et 15 mm, la longueur totale de la chambre de sifflet (24 ; 118) est entre environ 15 mm et 25 mm, une largeur de la chambre de sifflet (24; 118) est entre environ 5 mm et 13 mm, un rayon défini par le plancher (44 ; 122) et la paroi avant (48 ; 120) est entre environ 3 mm et 5 mm, un rayon défini par la paroi avant (120) et la partie avant (48 ; 130) du plafond (42 ; 126) est entre environ 3 mm et 5 mm, la paroi avant (120) est formée de telle sorte qu'une distance entre les deux rayons est entre environ 1 mm et 3 mm, un rayon défini par le plancher (44 ; 122) et la paroi arrière (46 ; 124) est entre environ 2 mm et 4 mm et un rayon défini par la paroi arrière (46 ; 124) et la partie arrière (42 ; 132) est entre environ 2 mm et 4 mm.
  6. Appareil de divertissement (10 ; 100) selon la revendication 5, dans lequel la partie avant (48 ; 130) du plafond (42 ; 126) a un parmi un profil plat et un profil convexe arqué avec un rayon entre environ 8 mm et 18 mm, la partie arrière (132) du plafond (42 ; 126) a un profil convexe arqué avec un rayon entre environ 40 mm et 45 mm, et la partie arrière (132) du plafond (42 ; 126) forme un angle généralement par rapport au plancher (44 ; 122) pour définir un angle inclus entre environ 20° et 35°.
  7. Appareil de divertissement (100) selon la revendication 2, dans lequel les dispositifs de retenue de sifflet et de batterie (102, 104) définissent des formations de montage complémentaires pour permettre de monter un élément d'absorption des chocs (114) sur une extrémité avant de la partie avant (14), l'élément d'absorption des chocs (114) correspondant avec la partie avant (14) et ayant une tête (115) et une tige (117) s'étendant depuis la tête, la tige (117) étant configurée pour être fixée entre les dispositifs de retenue de sifflet et de batterie (102, 104) avec la tête (115) faisant saillie de l'extrémité avant.
  8. Appareil de divertissement (100) selon la revendication 7, dans lequel la tige (117) est configurée pour fixer un circuit entre la tige (117) et le compartiment de batterie (142) lorsque les dispositifs de retenue de sifflet et de batterie (102, 104) sont fixés l'un à l'autre.
  9. Appareil de divertissement (10) selon la revendication 2, dans lequel le mécanisme de fixation comprend un élément d'assemblage (108) agencé de manière pivotante sur un parmi le dispositif de retenue de sifflet et le dispositif de retenue de batterie (102, 104), à l'opposé de la charnière, l'autre parmi le dispositif de retenue de sifflet et le dispositif de retenue de batterie (102, 104) ayant une formation d'assemblage (110) configurée pour mettre en prise l'élément d'assemblage (108) de manière amovible de sorte que les dispositifs de retenue de sifflet et de batterie (102, 104) puissent être assemblés l'un à l'autre ou désassemblés l'un de l'autre en deux mouvements indépendants.
  10. Appareil de divertissement (10 ; 100) selon la revendication 1, dans lequel les ailettes (150) sont définies par un élément d'ailette allongé, sensiblement plat (148) composé d'un matériau de type feuille avec un degré de malléabilité et ayant une partie centrale (168) interposée entre une paire de parties d'extrémité (170), les parties d'extrémité (170) étant décalées de manière angulaire, dans des directions opposées dans le plan de l'élément d'ailette (148).
  11. Appareil de divertissement (10 ; 100) selon la revendication 10, dans lequel la partie arrière du corps allongé est configurée de sorte que l'élément d'ailette (148) puisse être plié sur une ligne centrale transversale pour mettre en prise la partie arrière (16) au niveau du pli avec les parties d'extrémité capables d'être repliées vers la partie arrière (16) de sorte que le décalage des parties d'extrémité soit orienté pour imprimer une rotation à l'appareil de divertissement (10 ; 100) à mesure qu'il tombe après avoir été lancé vers le haut.
  12. Appareil de divertissement (10 ; 100) selon la revendication 1, dans lequel le dispositif de retenue de batterie (52 ; 104) est configuré pour loger une alimentation électrique sous la forme d'au moins une cellule de batterie (54) et un circuit associé pour une LED (58 ; 144), un interrupteur (65 ; 146) étant mis en prise de manière fonctionnelle avec le circuit de sorte que la LED (58 ; 144) puisse être mise en marche et en arrêt et le dispositif de retenue de batterie (52 ; 104) comprenant une ouverture (64) à travers laquelle l'interrupteur (65 ; 146) peut faire saillie de sorte que la LED (58 ; 144) puisse être allumée et éteinte lorsque le couvercle est dans sa position fermée.
