Description

    1. Technical field of the invention
  • The field of the invention is that of printing paper roll enclosures, intended in particular to be arranged with thermal printers such as those used in payment terminals, fixed or mobile.
  • In particular, the invention relates to a device adapted for loading paper rolls of large size while limiting the size that can be generated by this loading phase.
  • 2. Technological background
  • The use of paper rolls for printers is well known. When the roll is empty or finished, it is necessary to replace it. Different types of mechanisms make it possible to meet this need.
  • So, US 2011/0268488 discloses a device for loading a paper roll into a printer that includes a link mechanism supporting an access cover for opening and closing the paper roll housing. This device comprises inter alia a paper roll loading module consisting of two side walls for fixing the axis of rotation of the paper roll when the access cover is closed. One of the walls is pivotable to a position in which, when the lid is open, a ramp is formed outside the device to guide the ejection of the used paper roll outside the loading device. In other words, at least a portion of the wall is exposed outside the loading device. Said device thus comprises a multitude of components paired with each other according to sometimes complex mechanisms, which result from numerous disadvantages such as cost and significant production lead times, increased difficulty of use of the device, complexity of maintenance, weakening of the device, or difficulties of recycling.
  • Other less complex processes make it possible to overcome this difficulty.
  • So, WO 2008/042969 discloses a towel paper dispenser comprising a lid and a housing, interconnected by a hinge which allows the lid to pivot between a closed position and an open position. JP 2000335791 discloses a roller loading device according to the preamble of claim 1. This invention thus provides a mechanism for easily replacing the paper roll.
  • However, the major disadvantage of the devices described above is the congestion they generate during the loading phase of the paper roll. Indeed, the use of pivot links to pair the roller receiving housing and the associated containment support requires the latter to be deployed entirely outside the housing. The user is therefore forced to free the space necessary for the deployment of this support during the loading phase of the roll.
  • 3. Objectives of the invention
  • The invention aims to overcome at least some of the disadvantages present in the state of the art.
  • In particular, the invention aims to provide a compact roller loading device, including during the loading phase of the roller, and can integrate a large roll.
  • The invention also aims to provide, in at least one embodiment, a loading device that is not very complex to implement and that does not depend on the judgment of the user.
  • The invention also aims to provide, in at least one embodiment, a loading device to reduce the risk of damage to the device, the printing system to which it can be paired or inconvenience that may be caused in its direct environment .
  • The invention also aims to provide, in at least one embodiment, a loading device implementing mechanisms that are not very complex. can easily be mounted at the factory or repaired.
  • The invention also aims to provide, in at least one embodiment, removable pairing means of the support to the housing.
  • The invention also aims to provide, in at least one embodiment, pairing means for facilitating and guiding the insertion of the support into the housing.
  • The invention also aims to provide, in at least one embodiment, secondary and independent pairing means for locking the device when it is in the use phase.
  • 4. Presentation of the invention
  • These and other objects, which will become more clearly apparent later, are achieved by a roller loading device comprising:
    • a housing comprising an enclosure defining an open cavity,
    • a roll holder.
  • According to the invention, the roller support is rotatably mounted in said cavity.
  • Throughout the text, the term "roller support" designates a room on which a roller can be adapted, through or not means of pairing. The term "casing" refers to a solid or empty body having a finite external surface around it. The term "cavity" refers to an unoccupied volume generated by a recess of this finished external surface. The term "enclosure" designates the portion of the finished external surface that delimits this cavity.
  • A loading device according to the invention makes it possible to limit the space that can be generated by the loading phase of a roll. Indeed, the rotational connection of the support in the enclosure allows during this loading phase to retain some or all of the support inside the enclosure. There is therefore no displacement of the entire support outside the enclosure such as in the case of pivot links connecting the support and the enclosure in the state of the art. In other words, the loading device such as described by the invention is more compact allowing the user to move the latter with greater ease and to arrange it in small spaces.
  • According to a particular feature, the roller support is adapted to be moved from a first position, said loading position, wherein said roller can be mounted on said support, to a second position, said position of use, wherein said supporting said roll in said cavity.
  • Thus, the loading device makes it possible to define, independently of the judgment of the user, two positions of the support respectively corresponding to the two modes of operation of the loading device and, by extension, of the printer to which this device can be paired. This additional feature improves the stability of the loading device by reducing errors due to mishandling of the user. In addition, the device is also less complex to implement by the user who does not need to use his own judgment to assess the conformity of the position of the support with the desired mode of operation.
  • According to a particular characteristic, said support is adapted to conceal said cavity when said support is in use position.
  • Thus, the roll support, when in the position of use, isolates the roll within a closed structure, consisting of the enclosure and the same roll holder. These additional features make it possible in the first place to prevent any foreign body from penetrating inside the enclosure and coming into contact with the roll when the latter is in a position of use and therefore, likely to be set in rotation motion. These parasitic foreign bodies may for example be materialized by impurities present in the environment of the charging device and coming to be housed, via the enclosure, in the mechanism of a printer, deteriorating the latter. The additional features described above also limit the risk of injury to an external user in the vicinity of the loading device, such as an infant who, out of curiosity, would attempt to impede movement. of the roll, placing for example his finger in the enclosure. Isolation of the roller between the enclosure and the support also limits the propagation of noise generated by the movement of the roller while providing better protection of the device in case of shock.
  • According to a particular characteristic, the loading device comprises means for pairing said support with said housing.
  • Thus, the pairing means of the roller support to the housing make it possible to control the position of these two elements with respect to each other and consequently to reduce the risks of errors related to poor coordination in the housing. space of these last two. In particular, these pairing means reduce the risk of accidental release of the support outside the enclosure.
  • According to a particular characteristic, the pairing means comprise at least one lug, said rotation pin, cooperating with a rotation bearing.
  • Thus, a lug, cooperating with a rotational bearing, facilitates and secures the rotational movement of the roller support relative to the housing. In addition, a lug is a mechanical piece of little complex and robust that can be machined at lower cost, hence an obvious interest for reducing manufacturing costs, for the reliability of the pairing means and by extension, for stability of the loading device.
  • According to a particular characteristic, said support comprises at least one lug, said guide lug cooperating with guide rails, formed in said enclosure, comprising at least one circular portion.
  • Thus, the roller support, via at least one guide pin is guided around the axis defined by the rotation pin, which reduces the stresses exerted on the single rotation pin and thus to improve the stability of the system. Obviously, a system in which the guide pin and the guide rails would be respectively formed in the housing and the roller support would have the same advantages as those described above. This observation is verified in the rest of the text.
  • According to a particular characteristic, the loading device is characterized in that said guide rails comprise, in addition to a circular portion, a rectilinear portion oriented outwardly of said enclosure.
  • Thus, a rectilinear portion oriented towards the outside of the enclosure makes it easier for the user to insert the roller support into the housing, respectively guiding the guide pin and the rotation pin towards the circular part. guide rails and the rotation bearing.
  • According to a particular characteristic, said support comprises at least one lug, said locking lug in rotation, cooperating with two abutments formed transversely between said guide rails, each abutment delimiting respectively the loading position and the position of use of said support.
  • Thus, the two abutments formed transversely between the guide rails make it possible mechanically and independently of the judgment of the user, the roller support in the portion of the guide rails between these same stops. This additional feature therefore provides the advantages set out above and related to the adoption by the roll holder of two predefined positions. In addition, the machining of stops between the guide rails is inexpensive and uncomplicated to implement, hence a clear interest in reducing costs and manufacturing time.
  • According to a particular characteristic, said guide lug and said locking pin in rotation are merged.
  • A device that includes only a single lug for guiding and rotational locking functions is less complex technically, resulting in a reduction in manufacturing costs, an increase in the service life and easier maintenance of the device. loading.
  • According to a particular characteristic, at least one of said lugs is mounted on a base made of an elastic material.
  • Thus, when the user inserts the roll holder into the housing, the rotation pin and the rotational locking lugs abut respectively against the edges of the rotational bearing and the stops formed transversely between the guide rails, opposing the force exerted by the user a force of resistance. When the base of a pin is made of an elastic material, the latter tends to deform under the effect of this resistance force and move the associated pin towards the inside of the roller support. This displacement has several effects:
    • it allows the rotation pin to cooperate with the rotation bearing,
    • it allows the rotational locking lugs to overcome the abutments formed transversely in the guide rails,
    • it causes a thinning of the roll support, thus allowing the roll to be kept in compression in the support without resorting to additional fitting means,
    • it reduces the constraints exerted by the user on the rest of the loading device.
  • According to a particular characteristic, said pairing means are reversible, allowing the mounting and dismounting of the support in the housing.
  • Thus, the reversibility of the pairing means makes the roll holder removable from the housing. This characteristic makes it possible inter alia to facilitate the maintenance of the loading device.
  • According to a particular characteristic, said support comprises reversible locking means of the support on the housing in the position of use via a clip.
  • Thus, the use of a clip secures independently the rest of the device reversible locking of the support on the housing in the use position, resulting in greater stability of the loading device.
  • 5. List of figures
  • Other characteristics, objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent on reading the following description which, by way of nonlimiting example, shows one embodiment of the invention, with reference to the appended drawings; in these drawings:
    • the figure 1 is a schematic perspective view of the housing, isolated from the rest of the loading device,

    6. Detailed description of an embodiment of the invention
  • In the figures, the scales and proportions are not strictly respected and this, for purposes of illustration and clarity. Throughout the detailed description which follows with reference to the figures, unless otherwise indicated, each element of the loading device is described as arranged when the seat of the housing is mounted horizontally and the rear facade is mounted to the vertical. This arrangement is particularly represented on the Figures 1 and 3 to 6 .
  • On the figure 1 , the housing 1 comprises a posterior front 2 plane mounted vertically on a base 3 horizontal and surmounted in connection by an upper box 4 which the seat 3 is parallel. The housing 1 also comprises two lateral cheeks 5, parallel to each other, which are connected to the elements of the housing 1 described above so as to form a cavity. The lateral cheeks 5 are characterized by a disc shape and comprise a rotation bearing 6 mounted in the center of the inner face of each of them.
  • According to another embodiment, the rear facade 2 also comprises means of pairing with an external printing system.
  • On the figure 2 , each of the lateral cheeks 5 comprises on its inner face an inner guiding rail 7 comprising a rectilinear portion 7a and a circular portion 7b. The circular portion 7b is coincident with the periphery of the rotation bearing 6. The rectilinear portion 7a is arranged in the extension of the circular portion 7b and is oriented towards the outside of the cavity in a direction substantially orthogonal to the rear facade 2.
  • Each of the lateral cheeks 5 also comprises on its inner face an outer guide rail 8 consisting of a rectilinear portion 8a and a circular portion 8b. The rectilinear portion 8a overcomes the inner guiding rail 7 to which it is substantially parallel and extends from a theoretical point x towards the outside of the cavity. This theoretical point x can be defined as the intersection between the rectilinear portion 8a of the outer guide rail 8 and the theoretical tangent to the rotation bearing 6 along the lateral cheek 5 and passing through the theoretical point x ' , the theoretical point. x ' being the distal end of the rotation bearing 6 included in the theoretical axis perpendicular to the rear wall 2 of the housing 1 and passing through the center of the rotational bearing 6. In other words, the rectilinear portion 8a of the rail external guide 8 is substantially perpendicular to the rear wall 2 of the housing 1. The rectilinear portion 8a and the circular portion 8b of the outer guide rail 8 are interconnected at the theoretical point x . The circular portion 8b of the outer guide rail 8 extends in rotation about the center of the rotational bearing 6 between the theoretical point x and a theoretical point y, the theoretical point y being the symmetric of x with respect to x '.
  • Each of the lateral cheeks 5 also comprises an opening stop 9, which extends from the external guiding rail 8 to the internal guide rail 7 along the axis connecting the theoretical point x to the center of the rotation bearing 6, as well as a closing abutment 10 which extends from the outer guide rail 8 to the inner guide rail 7 along the axis connecting the theoretical point y to the center of the rotation bearing 6. In other words, each stops are mounted transversely between the outer guide rail 8 and the inner guide rail 7.
  • On the figure 3 , the roller support 11 consists of two lateral panels 12 parallel to each other, of disc shape, characterized by dimensions substantially equivalent to those of the lateral cheeks 5 of the housing 1, and spaced apart from each other by a distance less than the distance separating the two lateral cheeks 5 between them, so as to be able to be housed between them. A cap 13 of rectangular shape interconnects the respective distal portions of each of the side panels 12 at an angle substantially equal to 180 ° with respect to the center of each side panel 12 and so that, when the housing 1 and the roller support 11 are paired, the hood 13 can hide in its entirety the cavity arranged in the housing 1.
  • Each of the side panels 12 of the roll holder 11 also comprises in the center of its outer face a lug, said rotational lug 14, which can match in rotation with a rotational bearing 6 of the housing 1. A lug, said guide pin 15, is also mounted on the outer face of each of the side panels 12 near the rotation pin 14, so as to cooperate with the guide rails 7 and 8 and be housed against the opening stops 9 and closing 10, when the rotation pin 14 is paired with the rotational bearing 6.
  • The entire loading device is made of a plastic material by an injection process because of its low production costs, low density and cold warping capabilities. The choice of another material in the composition of the loading device can however be considered in the following detailed description, without the characteristics of the device, other than those intrinsic to the material that composes it, are modified.
  • The rotation pins 14 and the guide pins 15 are mounted on a base 16 partially cut in the side panel 12, so that the base 16 is connected to the remainder of the side panel 12 in a single direction. This feature accentuates the lateral displacement of this base 16 in response to a force that can be exerted longitudinally on one of the lugs.
  • A male clip 17 is arranged at one of the ends of the cover 13, so as to cooperate with a female clip 18 arranged in the upper box 4 of the housing 1.
  • In so-called insertion phase and as represented by the figure 4 the roll holder 11 is placed by the user in a so-called loading configuration, in which the cover 13 of the roll holder 11 is oriented towards the inside of the cavity formed in the housing 1, with the male clip 17 of the roller support 11 positioned substantially in the plane defined by the seat 3. The roller support 11 is then moved in a translation movement towards the housing 1, so that the guide pin 15 comes s' between the guide rails 7 and 8. The movement is continued by the user until the guide pin 15 and the rotation pin 14 respectively come into contact with the stop 9 and the rotation bearing 6 , thus characterizing, by their position, the initial conformation of the device for the so-called interlocking phase, as represented by the figure 5 .
  • According to another embodiment, the guide rails 15 and the rotational bearing 6 can be formed in the outer face of at least one of the side panels 12 of the roll holder 11 while the guide pin 15 and the rotation pin 14 are formed in the inner face of at least one of the lateral cheeks 5 of the housing 1.
  • According to another embodiment, the female clip 18 is arranged in the seat 3 of the housing and the straight portion 8a of the outer guide rail 8 is positioned below the rotational bearing 6. When the roller support 11 is placed in position. loading configuration, the male clip 17 of the roll holder 11 is then positioned substantially in the plane defined by the upper box 4.
  • The interlocking phase is divided into two stages, respectively corresponding to the pairing of the rotation pin 14 with the rotation bearing 6 and the crossing of the opening stop 9 by the guide pin 15.
  • At first, a compression force F c is exerted by the user on the roller support 11. The force F c is directed along an axis substantially parallel to the theoretical axis perpendicular to the rear wall 2 of the housing 1, and is oriented towards the inside of the cavity formed in the casing 1. The force F c is exerted on the rotational bearing 6 by means of the rotation pin 14 and causes an elastic deformation of the rotation bearing 6 which is characterized by an inclination of the periphery of the latter to the rear wall 2 of the housing 1. According to another embodiment, the inclination of the contours of the rotational bearing 6 are the result of a geometry defined during the manufacturing phase of the loading device. In response to the force F c , the level of rotation 6 exerts a reaction force of the support whose tangential component causes a rectilinear displacement of the rotation pin 14 towards the inner face of the side panel 12 on which it is mounted. This displacement is facilitated by the use, in the composition of the bases of the lugs, of an elastic material which has a better ability to deform than ordinary material. The base of the rotation pin 14 being located substantially in the center of the side panels, the deformation of the internal face of the side panels 12, generated by the displacement of the pin, is maximum at this location. When the center of the roll is arranged in the center of the inner face of the side panels 12, the roll is then kept rotated about the axis perpendicular to the side panels 12 and passing through the rotation bearing 6. Rolls of different sizes can therefore be arranged in the device without this feature affecting the positioning of the roller and, more generally, the operation of the device.
  • The process ends when the displacement of the rotation pin 14 is sufficient to allow the latter to cross the periphery of the rotation bearing 6 and to mate with it.
  • In a second step, a process analogous to that described for the pairing of the rotation pin 14 with the rotation bearing 6, allows the guide pin 15 to pass through the opening stop 9.
  • According to the embodiment described, the length of at least one of the lugs is always greater than the distance separating the lateral cheeks 5 of the casing 1 of the lateral panels 12 of the roller support 11, so that the compression force of the lateral cheeks 5 on the lug allow, throughout the various phases of operation of the device, maintaining compression of the roller between the lateral cheeks 12.
  • According to this same embodiment, the technical characteristics of the lugs, the rotation bearing 6 and the opening stop 9 are defined so that the force F c necessary for the completion of the interlocking phase corresponds to a power that can be deployed by an adult user while offering a resistance to enhance the stability of the device of loading.
  • According to another embodiment, the pairing of the rotation pin 14 with the rotation bearing 6 and the crossing of the opening stop 9 by the guide pin 15 are carried out simultaneously. The value of the force F c necessary for the completion of the interlocking phase is then greater than that required according to the embodiment described.
  • According to another embodiment, the roll holder 11 has a lug only on one of its side panels 12. This conformation increases the risk of tearing of the roll holder 11 from the housing 1.
  • Following the interlocking phase, the rotation pin 14 is paired with the rotation bearing 6 while the guide pin is paired between the inner guide rails 7b and 8b, between the opening stop 9 and the closure stop 10 which respectively define the so-called loading position and the so-called position of use of the loading device.
  • When the roll support is moved to the loading position, as represented by the figure 6 , the opening of the roll holder 11 on the outside of the loading device is sufficient for a roll of 62 mm in diameter can be arranged in the same support.
  • When the roll holder 11 is moved to the use position, as represented by the figure 7 , the entire cavity formed inside the housing 1 is concealed by the same support. The male clip 17 is then paired with the female clip 18 and reversibly locks the loading device in the use position.
  • According to another embodiment, the loading device does not comprise a guide pin 15. The positions of opening and use of the loading device are then respectively defined by the conformation of the base 3 with respect to the roller support 11 and the conformation of the upper box 4 relative to the same support. The stability of the loading device is however reduced, especially because of the risk of deterioration of the components of the latter when put in contact with each other.
  • To initiate the disengage phase, the roll holder 11 is first moved to the loading position. According to a process similar to that described for the interlocking phase, a traction force F t , directed in a direction substantially parallel to the compression force F c but oriented in a contrary direction, is exerted by the user in the the purpose of detaching the rotation pin 14 of the rotation bearing 6 and allow the guide pin 15 to cross the opening stopper 9. The roller support 11 can then be removed from the housing 1.
  • The invention proposes a novel approach, according to which the receiving housing of the roller has guiding elements, for example in the form of a snail (having an arcuate portion extending by a substantially rectilinear portion), for mounting, the kinematics and retention of the roll.
  • In particular, the invention also relates to a paper roll printer, comprising a housing for receiving said roll, characterized in that it comprises, on at least one of its lateral walls, guide elements capable of cooperating with elements complementary means formed on said roller, so as to guide the latter during its establishment in said housing and control the rotation of said roller.
  • The invention also relates to payment terminals, equipped with such a printer.
  • The invention also relates to the rollers for such a printer, characterized in that they comprise complementary elements capable of cooperating with the guiding elements of said printer.
  • Such a roller may also include a closure cap portion of the receiving housing.
  • Finally, the invention relates to the method of setting up a paper roll in such a printer. This method may comprise in particular the following steps, implemented using said complementary elements:
    • inserting said roll by translation;
    • rotating said roll so as to place said roll in its nominal position.
  • This roll can be a large diameter roll (60 mm for example, but it is not restrictive), and can be integrated in a volume and a reduced design. To ensure the strength of the printer assembly, it is composed of two parts.
  • The use of such a snail-shaped system can in particular make it possible to perform the following functions:
    • assembly guidance;
    • rotation of the roll holder without additional axis to be inserted into the roll;
    • adjustment and control of the optimal opening of the roller support.
  • Thus, the invention allows, in a simple and efficient way, the integration of a printer with a large roll in a small footprint is solved by this invention. In fact almost a skin is made around the roller.
  • The invention therefore provides a mechanism for mounting, kinematics and retention of these various roll sizes in a small footprint.
  • The assembly is simplified, and does not require special tools. As shown above, it is indeed not necessary to use tools or additional mounting system. This gives a gain in productivity. By the elastic tabs, the roll holder is easily removable, for example with a lever.
