Description
The invention relates to a connector comprising an insulating body, a contact carrier, a shielding device and a plurality of contacts, which are intended to be arranged in the contact carrier, wherein the shielding device is pivotally supported on the insulating body.
Such a connector is used for example in the field of industry and telecommunications.
A disadvantage of such a connector is that it consists of several parts, whereby the handling during installation is relatively expensive.
The present invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a connector whose assembly cost is relatively low.
This object is achieved in that the shielding device has first guide means, which are in operative connection with second guide means of the contact carrier, so that the contact carrier is insertable by a pivoting movement of the shielding device in the insulating body or attachable to the Isolierköper.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.
The invention is a connector which, although made in several parts, is in one piece, i. in the form of composite items, can be delivered to a user. After manual insertion of contacts, e.g. Socket or pin contacts, in the contact carrier can be pivoted with a single movement, the shield device on the insulator, thereby introducing the contact carrier in the insulator or attached to the insulator, thereby fixed the contacts in their final position in the connector, the shield device on the insulator or on Locked contact carrier and thereby the contact carrier can be fixed in or on the insulating body.
This is particularly advantageous because the assembly effort is thereby reduced. The related items are already pre-assembled to the user and thus pre-sorted together and do not have to be put together by the user laboriously and assembled.
In particular, for assembly, the user only needs to insert the cable-connected, e.g., crimped, contacts into the contact carrier and depress the shield device, i. to pivot over the insulating body to mount the connector cable side, which is a significant reduction in the assembly cost over the prior art.
Furthermore, the dismantling is simplified. By pivoting back the shielding device it is unlocked again, the fixation of the contact carrier on the insulating body is released and the contact carrier is automatically pulled out again by the said operative connection from the insulating body. As a result, the fixation of the contacts is canceled, whereby they are removed again.
Furthermore, it is particularly advantageous if the insulating body has at least two preferably circular holes or recesses and the shielding device has at least two pivot pins which engage in the holes or recesses of the insulating body, because thereby the shielding device is pivotable about the pivot pins.
In a further advantageous embodiment, the insulating body has at least two pivot pins, and the shielding device has at least two circular holes or recesses which surround the pivot pin of the insulating body, so that the shielding device is pivotable about the pivot pins. As a result, such an arrangement can also be manufactured with little effort.
Furthermore, it is advantageous if the insulating body has at least two hinge windows and the shielding device has at least two hinge straps has, which engage in the hinge window, the insulating body, so that the shielding device is pivotally supported on the insulating body.
It is particularly advantageous if the first guide means of the screen device in at least one guide slot or at least one guide groove and the second guide means of the contact carrier consist in at least one guide pin which engages in the guide slot or in the guide groove of the screen device, wherein during the pivoting movement of the screen device the guide pin is guided along the guide slot or the guide groove, being moved by the shape of the guide pin in the direction of the insulating body and the contact carrier is inserted into the insulator or attached to the insulator, because such an arrangement with little effort to manufacture and works stably ,
In an advantageous embodiment, the shield device, which consists in particular of a zinc die-cast part, has several, preferably two, retaining lugs which advantageously prevent the contact carrier from being pushed out of the insulating body. The retaining lugs can advantageously be designed to be resilient in order to press the contact carrier and / or the insulating body over corresponding latching contours, for example via positively-locking pockets, into a fixed seating position and fix it there.
In a preferred embodiment, the shielding device can be locked on the insulating body and / or on the contact carrier. In particular, the insulating body and / or the contact carrier may have a latching nose on which the screen device engages, preferably with a first end of its guide slot or its guide groove, or with a specially provided opening. This has the advantage that the introduced into the insulating body or attached to the insulating contact carrier is fixed in or on the insulating body.
It is particularly advantageous if the contacts in their final positions in the connector can be fixed to the insulating body by insertion, in particular by insertion, of the contact carrier into the insulating body or by attaching the contact carrier. Such an embodiment will be described below. In this case, the insulating body on first through holes. The contact carrier has second through-holes for receiving the contacts, e.g. the pin or socket contacts, on. At one end of the second through-holes, the contact carrier has lamellae which comprise the received contacts. The first through-holes of the insulating body, preferably adjacent to the contact carrier, each have a funnel-shaped area. When inserting or attaching the contact carrier equipped with contacts in or on the insulating body, the contacts are at least partially inserted into the first through-holes thereof and the blades of the contact carrier are compressed by the funnel-shaped regions. This fixes the contacts in their final position in the connector.
Preferably, the insulator in the funnel-shaped portion of its first through-holes have special recesses, and the lamellae may have matching wing-like projections which engage in the special recesses and are compressed by the insertion of the contact carrier in the insulating body and thereby compressing the slats and thus the effect or at least support final fixation of the contacts in the connector.

Thus, ultimately, only by a single movement, namely the pivoting of the

This connector 1 'comprises an insulating body 2', a contact carrier 3 ', a shielding device 4', a plurality of contacts, which are designed as pin contacts 5 ', and a shield cap 6', preferably made of sheet metal.
The shielding device 4 'is preferably manufactured in a zinc die-casting process. Alternatively, the shielding device 4 'could also consist of a plastic with a shielding coating or also of a plastic without a shielding coating. In the latter case, however, the shielding device 4 'would have no electrically shielding properties.
The screen device 4 'has at one end two curved hinge plates 43' and two guide slots 42 '. The contact carrier 3 'has two guide pins 31' and two locking pins 33 ', of which only one can be seen in the drawing, because the other is covered by the contact carrier 3'.
The insulating body 2 'has at one end two hinge windows 24' and on two opposite sides in each case a screen window 27 '. The shield cap 6 'has two contact springs 61' on each side. Furthermore, the shield cover 6 'has a plurality of latching windows 62'. The shield device 4 'has matching locking lugs 47'. As a result, the shielding hood 6 'is suitable for being pushed over the otherwise completely assembled connector 1' for better shielding and fixed there. By the contact springs 61 ', which engage in the assembled state through the screen window 27' of the insulating body 2 ', a mating connector, for example, the connector 1 described in the first embodiment, with its

The guide pin 31 'is located within the guide slot 42', at a first end of this guide slot 42 '.
It is readily apparent that by pivoting the shielding device 4 ', the contact carrier 3' is insertable into the insulating body 2 'by pivoting the
