- Water-bearing household appliance (1) comprising a water supply system (8, 9), a treatment compartment (2) for receiving items to be treated (7), a control device (12) and an atomisation device (19) which can be controlled with the control device (12),

- Method according to one of claims 13 and 14, characterised in that the mist is brought into contact with the items (7) prior to a washing cycle for the purpose of dissolving dirt.
