Definitions
- Apparatus for storing and dispensing liquid and / or gaseous media under pressure and to a fuel energy conversion apparatus and method for assembling a device for storing and dispensing liquid and / or gaseous media under pressure
- the invention relates to a device for storing and dispensing of liquid and / or gaseous media under pressure comprising a medium receiving plastic media container, at least one connected to the media container valve connection element and at least one connectable to the valve connection element valve element, wherein the media container to a externally projecting collar having a collar outer wall and a Krangeninnenwandung.
- the upper end of the collar defines the free cross section of an opening of the media container, wherein the valve connection element is arranged in the region of this opening and the collar outer wall is enclosed by an inner wall of the valve connection element.
- Such a device is known for example from EP 2,115,343 B1.
- a portion of the valve element penetrates the opening and is enclosed by the collar inner wall.
- O-ring seals are provided between this section and the collar inner wall. Due to the deformation properties of the O-rings, leakage of the medium should be permanently prevented.
- the disadvantage here is that due to the dimensioning of the O-rings they achieve a seal between the portion of the valve element and the collar inner wall only in a very small, circular peripheral area.
- the disadvantage here is that the chamfer of the frustoconical portion and the chamfer of the inner wall of the collar must be matched very closely to each other to ensure sufficient tightness to the effect that the pressurized medium is not between the clamping ring and the inner wall of the valve connection element and consequently between the inner wall of the valve connection element and the collar outer wall diffuses past or flows past and exits from the media container. Achieving a permanent tightness is particularly difficult if it - as in the case of the liner described here - is a simple plastic media container. Due to the applied between the collar made of plastic and the truncated cone-like section shear / compressive stress tends this material to avoid the applied thrust / compressive stress.
- EP 0 821 194 B1 therefore further states that a highly elastic sealing means is provided for improving the sealing in the contact surface between the section of the clamping ring and the collar inner wall. Only then is it ensured that in particular the critical transition region between the frustoconical portion and the threaded portion of the clamping ring is permanently sealed.
- a disadvantage of the prior art is therefore that in particular for the permanent guarantee of a tightness between the valve connection element and the collar of the media container complex and in particular additional sealing element are necessary.
- the invention is therefore based on the object, a device for storing and dispensing of liquid and / or gaseous media under pressure in such a way that it ensures an improved and permanent tightness with a smaller number of sealing elements.
- This object is achieved according to the invention by a device for storing and dispensing liquid and / or gaseous media under pressure:
- valve connection element connected to the media container
- valve connection element which can be connected to the valve connection element
- the media container has an outwardly projecting collar with a collar outer wall of a collar inner wall, wherein the upper end of the collar defines the free cross section of an opening of the media container, wherein the valve connection element is arranged in the region of this opening and the collar outer wall is enclosed by an inner wall of the valve connection element, and wherein the valve element has a compression section which penetrates the opening and is enclosed by the collar inner wall, and wherein the outer diameter of the compression section before the valve element assembly is greater than the diameter of the collar inner wall, so that during the assembly of the valve element both between the compression section and the collar inner wall and between the collar outer wall and the inner wall of the valve connection element a permanent press fit e which seals the pressurized media.
- crosslinked thermoplastic material By providing a crosslinked thermoplastic material, the interference fit formed by the excess of the compression section relative to the inside diameter of the collar inner wall and the shear and / or compressive stress associated therewith are permanently retained, since such a crosslinked thermoplastic material has no or negligible flow processes (creep ) and behaves largely purely elastic.
- the use of crosslinked polyethylene has proved to be particularly advantageous.
- Crosslinking of the polyethylene under elevated temperature by radical-forming peroxides (PE-Xa) has proved to be advantageous as crosslinking in this case.
- PE-Xb radical-forming peroxides
- PE-Xc radiation crosslinking of polyethylene
- the degree of crosslinking of the thermoplastic or of the polyethylene can according to the present invention be 5% to 95%, preferably 15% to 90% and particularly preferably 50% to 85%.
- the valve element is also referred to as an on-tank valve (OTV for short).
- the pressurized medium may in particular be hydrogen (H 2 ).
- the device then serves to store and dispense liquid and / or gaseous hydrogen under pressure.
- the valve element can be constructed in several parts.
- the valve element may consist of several segments.
- the compression section can in particular be arranged on a separate first segment of the valve element.
- the separate first segment may in particular be sleeve-shaped.
- the multi-part structure is advantageous for the case of maintenance or repair of the device according to the invention, since possibly only a part or a segment of the valve element has to be replaced or maintained.
- a sealing element preferably an O-ring is provided above the collar, which seals the valve tilan gleichelement against the valve element.
- the seal thus takes place between the valve connection element and the valve element and not between the valve connection element and the outer wall of the collar or between the valve element and the inner wall of the collar.
- the valve connection element and the valve element are formed from a metallic material. Such materials do not tend to creep at the operating temperatures of the device, so that an additional permanent seal is ensured by the direct sealing of this metallic valve connection element against the metallic valve element by means of a sealing element.
- the sealing element may be fixed in position by a supporting element (for example a support ring).
- the support element prevents a change in position of the sealing element into the gap between the valve element and the valve connection element during or during the use of the device.
- the support member may also prevent disengagement of the seal member from its seating (e.g., circumferential annular groove within the valve member) on the valve member.
- the support element is preferably located in the same receptacle as the sealing element.
- the sealing element is preferably arranged on a separate second segment of the valve element.
- the sealing element can then advantageously be easier to change or maintain.
- the quotient of the difference between the outer diameter of the crimping section and the diameter of the collar inner wall with respect to the diameter of the collar inner wall is in a range between 0.005 and 0.04, preferably between 0.01 and 0.025, more preferably between 0.013 and 0.018.
- This quotient which can be labeled as an oversize, has an optimized value for these areas.
- the compression section may have a cylindrical or frusto-conical geometry.
- a cylindrical geometry has proven to be particularly preferred in the manufacture of such devices, since the tolerances to be met here can be most easily realized and adhered to.
- a cylindrical geometry has a uniform interference fit and a uniform compressive stress distribution along the entire contact surface (sealing surface) between the compression section and collar inner wall.
- the respective outside diameter of the compression section before valve element mounting is greater than the respective diameter of the inside wall of the collar - in the assembled state then corresponding or then opposite one another.
- the valve connection element can have at least one defined irregularity.
- This irregularity causes a punctiform and / or linear increase of the compressive stress and allows a further improvement of the sealing effect.
- This irregularity may be, in particular, a surface irregularity.
- Exemplary of a defined surface irregularity are selectively set roughness values, a defined introduced herringbone pattern, ribs or other formations on the inner wall or recesses in the inner wall.
- the collar or the collar outer wall can also have at least one defined irregularity. This irregularity causes a punctiform and / or linear increase of the compressive stress and allows a further improvement of the sealing effect.
- This irregularity may in particular be a surface irregularity.
- Exemplary of a defined surface irregularity are selectively set roughness values, a defined introduced herringbone pattern, ribs or other formations or recesses on or in the collar outer wall and / or collar inner wall.
- the media container outside the region of the collar with the valve connection element is firmly connected.
- the media container by means of a
- Screw connection and / or by means of an adhesive layer with the valve connection element is firmly connected.
- the media container may be surrounded by a, preferably wound or braided, reinforcing layer.
- a reinforcing layer is absolutely necessary.
- the reinforcing layer may comprise filaments in the form of e.g. Having threads or fibers.
- the filaments can be formed from carbon, glass, polyamide, mineral materials or a combination of the aforementioned materials.
- Part of the invention is further a fuel energy conversion device with a fuel cell unit, at least one media connection line, at least one pressure reducer and at least one device according to the invention.
- the media connection line can connect the device to the fuel cell unit in a media-conducting manner
- the pressure reducer can be arranged in the direction of media flow in front of the fuel cell unit.
- part of the invention is a motor vehicle with a device according to the invention and a motor vehicle with a fuel energy conversion device according to claim 15.
- part of the invention is a method for mounting a device for storing and dispensing of liquid and / or gaseous media under pressure
- the device comprising: a medium receiving medium container made of a crosslinked thermoplastic, preferably crosslinked polyethylene, at least one valve connection element, at least one valve element connectable with the valve element, wherein the media container has an outwardly projecting collar with a collar outer wall and a collar inner wall and the upper end of the Collar defines the free cross-section of an opening of the media container, wherein the valve connection element arranged in the region of this opening and the collar outer wall of an inner wall de
- the valve element is umschlössen, and wherein the valve element has a compression portion which penetrates the opening and is enclosed by the collar inner wall, and wherein the compression portion is pressed due to an oversize in the opening, so that both between the compression portion and the collar inner wall and between the collar outer wall and the valve connection element creates a permanent press fit, which seals against the pressurized medium.

Description
Vorrichtung zur Speicherung und Abgabe von flüssigen und/oder gasförmigen Medien unter Druck sowie Kraftstoffenergieumwandlungsvorrichtung und Verfahren zur Montage einer Vorrichtung zur Speicherung und Abgabe von flüssigen und/oder gasförmigen Medien unter Druck Apparatus for storing and dispensing liquid and / or gaseous media under pressure, and to a fuel energy conversion apparatus and method for assembling a device for storing and dispensing liquid and / or gaseous media under pressure
The invention relates to a device for storing and dispensing of liquid and / or gaseous media under pressure comprising a medium receiving plastic media container, at least one connected to the media container valve connection element and at least one connectable to the valve connection element valve element, wherein the media container to a externally projecting collar having a collar outer wall and a Krangeninnenwandung. The upper end of the collar defines the free cross section of an opening of the media container, wherein the valve connection element is arranged in the region of this opening and the collar outer wall is enclosed by an inner wall of the valve connection element.
Such a device is known for example from EP 2,115,343 B1. In this case, a portion of the valve element penetrates the opening and is enclosed by the collar inner wall. In order to prevent the liquid and / or gaseous medium from escaping under pressure from the interior of the media container made of plastic, it is provided that in the region of this section O-ring seals are provided between this section and the collar inner wall. Due to the deformation properties of the O-rings, leakage of the medium should be permanently prevented. The disadvantage here is that due to the dimensioning of the O-rings they achieve a seal between the portion of the valve element and the collar inner wall only in a very small, circular peripheral area. It can therefore be seen from the document that, to increase this sealing surface, at least one second O-ring is required in order to ensure permanent media tightness. The O-rings also seal against the collar inner wall of the media container, so that a permanent tightness of the O-rings must be ensured compared to a plastic material whose long-term deformations are highly likely to lead to leaks. The document EP 0 821 194 B1, on the other hand, proposes that a clamping ring can be screwed into the valve receiving element, which merges into a frustoconical section. The latter frusto-conical portion then presses the inner wall of the neck portion of a media container, which is provided with a bevel corresponding to the portion, against the inner wall of the valve receiving member. The disadvantage here is that the chamfer of the frustoconical portion and the chamfer of the inner wall of the collar must be matched very closely to each other to ensure sufficient tightness to the effect that the pressurized medium is not between the clamping ring and the inner wall of the valve connection element and consequently between the inner wall of the valve connection element and the collar outer wall diffuses past or flows past and exits from the media container. Achieving a permanent tightness is particularly difficult if it - as in the case of the liner described here - is a simple plastic media container. Due to the applied between the collar made of plastic and the truncated cone-like section shear / compressive stress tends this material to avoid the applied thrust / compressive stress. This is referred to as the so-called flow or creep of the plastic. This has the consequence that the compression is gradually relaxed (relaxed) and thus inevitably leads to a leak. EP 0 821 194 B1 therefore further states that a highly elastic sealing means is provided for improving the sealing in the contact surface between the section of the clamping ring and the collar inner wall. Only then is it ensured that in particular the critical transition region between the frustoconical portion and the threaded portion of the clamping ring is permanently sealed.
A disadvantage of the prior art is therefore that in particular for the permanent guarantee of a tightness between the valve connection element and the collar of the media container complex and in particular additional sealing element are necessary.
The invention is therefore based on the object, a device for storing and dispensing of liquid and / or gaseous media under pressure in such a way that it ensures an improved and permanent tightness with a smaller number of sealing elements. This object is achieved according to the invention by a device for storing and dispensing liquid and / or gaseous media under pressure:
- einen das Medium aufnehmenden Medienbehälter aus einem vernetzten thermoplastischen Kunststoff, vorzugsweise aus vernetztem Polyethylen, a medium receiving medium container of a cross-linked thermoplastic, preferably of cross-linked polyethylene,
- mindestens ein mit dem Medienbehälter verbundenes Ventilanschlusselement, at least one valve connection element connected to the media container,
Der mehrteilige Aufbau ist vorteilhaft für den Fall einer Wartung oder Reparatur der erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung, da ggf. nur ein Teil bzw. ein Segment des Ventilelements ausgetäuscht oder gewartet werden muss. at least one valve element which can be connected to the valve connection element, wherein the media container has an outwardly projecting collar with a collar outer wall of a collar inner wall, wherein the upper end of the collar defines the free cross section of an opening of the media container, wherein the valve connection element is arranged in the region of this opening and the collar outer wall is enclosed by an inner wall of the valve connection element, and wherein the valve element has a compression section which penetrates the opening and is enclosed by the collar inner wall, and wherein the outer diameter of the compression section before the valve element assembly is greater than the diameter of the collar inner wall, so that during the assembly of the valve element both between the compression section and the collar inner wall and between the collar outer wall and the inner wall of the valve connection element a permanent press fit e which seals the pressurized media. By providing a crosslinked thermoplastic material, the interference fit formed by the excess of the compression section relative to the inside diameter of the collar inner wall and the shear and / or compressive stress associated therewith are permanently retained, since such a crosslinked thermoplastic material has no or negligible flow processes (creep ) and behaves largely purely elastic. In this case, the use of crosslinked polyethylene has proved to be particularly advantageous. Crosslinking of the polyethylene under elevated temperature by radical-forming peroxides (PE-Xa) has proved to be advantageous as crosslinking in this case. In addition, a silane crosslinking of polyethylene (PE-Xb) or radiation crosslinking of polyethylene (PE-Xc) can also be used. The degree of crosslinking of the thermoplastic or of the polyethylene can according to the present invention be 5% to 95%, preferably 15% to 90% and particularly preferably 50% to 85%. In principle, the valve element is also referred to as an on-tank valve (OTV for short). The pressurized medium may in particular be hydrogen (H 2 ). The device then serves to store and dispense liquid and / or gaseous hydrogen under pressure. The valve element can be constructed in several parts. The valve element may consist of several segments. The compression section can in particular be arranged on a separate first segment of the valve element. The separate first segment may in particular be sleeve-shaped. The multi-part structure is advantageous for the case of maintenance or repair of the device according to the invention, since possibly only a part or a segment of the valve element has to be replaced or maintained.
As an advantageous embodiment of the invention can be provided that a sealing element, preferably an O-ring is provided above the collar, which seals the valve tilanschlusselement against the valve element. Advantageously, the seal thus takes place between the valve connection element and the valve element and not between the valve connection element and the outer wall of the collar or between the valve element and the inner wall of the collar. This is particularly advantageous when the valve connection element and the valve element are formed from a metallic material. Such materials do not tend to creep at the operating temperatures of the device, so that an additional permanent seal is ensured by the direct sealing of this metallic valve connection element against the metallic valve element by means of a sealing element. The sealing element may be fixed in position by a supporting element (for example a support ring). The support element prevents a change in position of the sealing element into the gap between the valve element and the valve connection element during or during the use of the device. The support member may also prevent disengagement of the seal member from its seating (e.g., circumferential annular groove within the valve member) on the valve member. The support element is preferably located in the same receptacle as the sealing element.
In the case of a multi-part construction of the valve element, the sealing element is preferably arranged on a separate second segment of the valve element. The sealing element can then advantageously be easier to change or maintain. Preferably, the quotient of the difference between the outer diameter of the crimping section and the diameter of the collar inner wall with respect to the diameter of the collar inner wall is in a range between 0.005 and 0.04, preferably between 0.01 and 0.025, more preferably between 0.013 and 0.018. This quotient, which can be labeled as an oversize, has an optimized value for these areas. These optimized values ensure acceptable assembly forces of the valve element with a permanent tight fit. Due to the formation of a permanent press fit during assembly of the valve element both between the compression section and the collar inner wall and between the collar outer wall and the inner wall of the valve connection element, no separate sealing element can be provided in the region of the compression section and / or the collar outer wall. Advantageously, can be completely dispensed with by the inventive training of the device in this area on an additional sealing element, in contrast to devices of the prior art.
The compression section may have a cylindrical or frusto-conical geometry. In particular, a cylindrical geometry has proven to be particularly preferred in the manufacture of such devices, since the tolerances to be met here can be most easily realized and adhered to. In addition, a cylindrical geometry has a uniform interference fit and a uniform compressive stress distribution along the entire contact surface (sealing surface) between the compression section and collar inner wall. In the case of a frusto-conical geometry, the respective outside diameter of the compression section before valve element mounting is greater than the respective diameter of the inside wall of the collar - in the assembled state then corresponding or then opposite one another. The valve connection element can have at least one defined irregularity. This irregularity causes a punctiform and / or linear increase of the compressive stress and allows a further improvement of the sealing effect. This irregularity may be, in particular, a surface irregularity. Exemplary of a defined surface irregularity are selectively set roughness values, a defined introduced herringbone pattern, ribs or other formations on the inner wall or recesses in the inner wall. Alternatively or in combination, the collar or the collar outer wall can also have at least one defined irregularity. This irregularity causes a punctiform and / or linear increase of the compressive stress and allows a further improvement of the sealing effect. This irregularity may in particular be a surface irregularity. Exemplary of a defined surface irregularity are selectively set roughness values, a defined introduced herringbone pattern, ribs or other formations or recesses on or in the collar outer wall and / or collar inner wall. Preferably, the media container outside the region of the collar with the valve connection element is firmly connected. In order to obtain the advantage of an as far as possible compressive press fit, it is particularly advantageous to realize the connection between the media container and the valve connection element only outside the region of the collar. For this purpose, it can be provided that the media container by means of a
Screw connection and / or by means of an adhesive layer with the valve connection element is firmly connected.
The media container may be surrounded by a, preferably wound or braided, reinforcing layer. In particular for the realization of pressures of the medium within the medium container in the typical range of several hundred bar, a reinforcing layer is absolutely necessary. Fig. 1). Fig. 1).
Fig. 3) vorgesehen. FIGS. 1 to 3 show an axial longitudinal section through a device according to the invention before and after assembly of the valve element 3. The device according to the invention for storing and dispensing liquid and / or gaseous media under pressure in this case has a medium-receiving media container 1 made of plastic. The medium container 1 is preferably made by a blow molding method or a rotary method or a thermoforming method. With the media container 1, a valve connection element 2 is connected. The device furthermore has a valve element 3 that can be connected to the valve connection element 2 (see FIG. 1). The media container 1 has an outwardly projecting collar 4 with a collar outer wall 5 and a collar inner wall 6. The upper end 7 of the collar 4 defines the free cross-section of an opening 8 of the media container. The valve connection element 2 is arranged in the region of this opening 8 and the collar outer wall 5 is enclosed by an inner wall 9 of the valve connection element 2. The valve element 3 has a compression section 10. This is intended to penetrate the opening 8 and to be enclosed by the collar inner wall 6. The media container 1 consists of a crosslinked thermoplastic, in this embodiment of crosslinked polyethylene of the type PE-Xa. The outer diameter D of the compression section 10 is greater than the diameter d of the collar inner wall 6 before the valve element assembly (see Fig. 1). During or after the assembly of the valve element 3 (see Fig. 2 and Fig. 3) thus arises both between the compression section 10 and the collar inner wall 6 and between the collar outer wall 5 and the inner wall 9 of the valve connection element 2, a permanent interference fit, the pressurized medium seals. Above the collar, a sealing element 11 in the form of an O-ring 11 is provided, which seals the valve connection element 2 against the valve element 3. The O-ring 11 is fixed in position by a support ring (not shown here). The support ring prevents in pressing the O-ring 11 in the gap between the valve element 3 and the valve connection element 2 or a falling out of the O-ring from its circumferential annular groove within the valve element. 3 The support ring is located in the same circumferential annular groove. The quotient (Dd) / d of the difference (Dd) of the outer diameter D of the crimping portion 10 and the diameter d of the collar inner wall 6 with respect to (= division by) the diameter d of the collar inner wall 6 is in a range between 0.013 and 0.018. In the region of the compression section 10 and in the region of the collar outer wall 5, no separate sealing element is provided. The compression section 10 has a cylindrical geometry. Above the collar 4, a screw connection 12 is provided between the valve element 3 and the valve connection element 2 (see Fig. 3). The inner wall 9 of the valve connection element 2 has a defined irregularity in the form of a herringbone pattern (not shown in detail here). The media container 1 is fixedly connected to the valve connection element 2 outside the region of the collar 4. In this case, the media container 1 is fixedly connected to the valve connection element 2 by means of a screw connection 13a and by means of an adhesive layer 13b. The media container 1 is surrounded by a wound or braided reinforcing layer 14. The polishing layer 14 has filaments of threads or fibers, for example. The filaments are formed in this embodiment of carbon. Conceivable further materials of the filaments are glass, polyamide, mineral materials or a combination of all the aforementioned materials. The valve element 3 shown in Figures 1 to 3 is integrally formed of a metallic material. The passages leading through the valve element 3 out of the medium container 1 to the outside are outside the axial sectional plane of FIGS. 1 to 3, so that they are not recognizable here. In principle, the valve element 3 is also referred to as an on-tank valve (OTV for short).
A method of assembling a device shown in Figures 1 to 3 comprises a device for storing and dispensing liquid and / or gaseous media under pressure, the device comprising:
