Abstract

A winder unit 10 includes a winding unit main body 16 adapted to form a package 30 by winding a yarn 20, an upper-yarn catching member 26 adapted to suck and catch the yarn 20 from the package 30 and to guide the yarn 20, and a unit control section 50 adapted to control the upper-yarn catching member 26 to perform a catching operation at a catching region R1 to suck and catch the yarn 20 from the package 30, a standby operation to be under standby at a standby region R2 that is further away from the package 30 than the catching region R1, and a guiding operation to guide the yarn 20 to a yarn joining region R3, and adapted to adjust the standby operation according to a diameter of the package 30 and/or a length of a defect included in the yarn 20.
