Die an den Spitzen verbleibenden Kunststoffresten führen zudem zu einer Abstumpfung der Spitzen, die mit der Zeit nicht mehr funktionsfähig wären. Entsprechend sind nun diese Kapseln meist weniger hoch als die Originalkapseln der Firma Nestle SA und bei der Extraktion gelangt wesentlich mehr Wasser in die Brühkammer der Maschine und umströmt somit die Kapsel. Erst wenn der verbleibende Raum zwischen der Kapsel und der Brühkammer vollständig gefüllt ist gelangt das weitere Wasser zwingend in die Kunststoffkapsel. Bei solchen konzentrischen Dichtlippen besteht immer die Gefahr, dass durch den Druck, mit dem der Rand der Brühkammer auf den Flansch drückt, die Dichtlippen vollständig umgeknickt werden, in der Folge zum Teil sogar überlappend zu liegen kommen und so die Dichtigkeit nicht mehr erreicht wird. Daher wird hier vorgeschlagen, dass der Bereich zwischen der Zentrierwulst 10 und der Seitenwand 2 auf der kopfteilseitigen Fläche 9 eine Vielzahl von nebeneinander angeordneten Vertiefungen 20 aufweist. Damit dieses nicht durch die Kapsel fliessende Wasser austreten könnte, müsste es durch die kopfteilseitige Dichtung 8 zwischen der Kapsel und dem mit Druck anliegenden Brühkammerrand hindurch fliessen, und gelänge es soweit, so müsste es den Zentrierwulst 10 umfliessen und dann zusätzlich noch auf der Unterseite durch die umlaufende membranseitige Dichtung 8' hindurch gepresst werden, bevor es im Bereich der Membran 6 zum Maschinenausguss gelangen könnte. Dies wird im Normalfall jedoch nicht geschehen. Sollte aber aus irgendeinem Grunde die Kapsel jedoch ungenügend duchströmt oder die Durchflusswege durch die Kapsel ungenügend geöffnet sein, beispielsweise dadurch, dass die Wassereintrittsöffnungen 11 durch eine Kunststofffilmbildung bei der Herstellung teilweise oder ganz verschlossen sind, wäre insbesondere die Dichtung 8 sehr hohen Belastungen ausgesetzt.
