Definitions
- the invention relates to an arrangement for connecting printed circuit boards by means of plug-in connections, comprising a first printed circuit board with at least one blade receptacle attached thereto and a second printed circuit board with at least one contact element which can be inserted into the blade receptacle.
- a printed circuit board (circuit board, board) is a support for electronic components and serves their mechanical attachment and electrical connection.
- Circuit boards are made of electrically insulating material with adhering, conductive connections (conductors). As insulating material fiber reinforced plastic is common.
- the tracks are usually etched from a thin layer of copper. The components are soldered to pads or pads. So they are simultaneously mechanically held and electrically connected.
- printed circuit boards are standardized, the usual thicknesses of the printed circuit boards are between 1 and 3 mm, for the present invention, in particular printed circuit boards with a thickness of 1.0 - 2.0 mm are used.
- Plug-in connections for example, plug-in sleeves made of metal, in particular flat plug-in sleeves, can be used.
- a blade receptacle has a conductor connection region for connecting the blade receptacle to an electrical conductor and a box-shaped receiving space for receiving and contacting a complementary contact blade.
- the receiving space usually has a running as a bottom plate first contact zone and two arranged on the longitudinal edges of the bottom plate side walls, the free edges above the Base plate are bent inwards. On the side walls further contact zones between the receiving space and contact blades may be provided.
- Blade receptacles are used in straight and angled design for a variety of types of electrical connectors.
- the DE 103 04 906 A1 describes a tab with contact blades for printed circuit boards, which is soldered to a circuit board and can then be plugged into tabs.
- the DE 200 19 485 U1 discloses an arrangement of two printed circuit boards which have contact bodies on a respective main surface. A connection of the two printed circuit boards takes place in that a spring element in the form of a double blade receptacle is pushed onto the contact body.
- the US2012 / 0264326 A1 discloses a connector for contacting an LED substrate with a network card.
- an arrangement comprising a first printed circuit board with at least one attached flat blade receptacle and a second printed circuit board with at least one contact element, which is inserted into the blade receptacle, wherein the second circuit board has a contact blade as a contact element, formed from the printed circuit board material of the second circuit board as a tab, which is positively inserted into the blade receptacle of the first circuit board for electrical contact between the tab and blade receptacle.
- each circuit board may have a plurality of tabs or tabs, so that a plurality of electrical lines can be performed separately from each other from one circuit board to the other circuit board.
- one and the same circuit board have both tabs and tabs and another circuit board corresponding complementary tabs and tabs to connect the two circuit boards together.
- a printed circuit board can also have tabs on several of its normally four edges, so that other printed circuit boards can be connected with their flat receptacles at several edges.
- the blade receptacle has a receiving space for the tab, which is formed from a bottom plate with two side walls whose free edges are bent over the bottom plate inwards.
- the blade receptacle encloses an angle with the plane of the first circuit board to which it is attached.
- first and second printed circuit boards can be arranged not only in one plane but also at an angle to one another, which saves space in the plane of the first printed circuit board.
- the angle can be 90 °, the two circuit boards are then arranged normal to each other. This has the advantage that the blade receptacle can then be attached particularly easily to the first circuit board.
- the tabs are preferably provided with one or more extensions which engage in corresponding holes in the first circuit board.
- an extension can be provided which consists in a planar extension of the bottom plate (or a part thereof) of the flat receptacle.
- the blade receptacle could then be supported with the lower edges of the side walls on the first circuit board and protrude at right angles from the circuit board.
- the extension could also be bent relative to the bottom plate (and the side walls preferably bevelled accordingly), so that there is a sharp or obtuse angle between the blade receptacle and the first circuit board.
- a contact region projecting into the interior of the tab receptacle can be provided in the bottom plate of the receptacle. This contact region may be approximately an embossing of the bottom plate or a spring tongue cut out of this bottom plate.
- tab and blade receptacle can be connected to each other only by positive engagement without further attachment, it can be provided that the distance between the free edge of the side plates and the bottom plate of the receptacle corresponds at most to the thickness of the tab.
- the thickness of the tab corresponds to the thickness of the remaining second printed circuit board. So only the contour of the PCB has to be cut accordingly. However, it would also be conceivable that the thickness of the tab is reduced compared to the circuit board in order to use about standard flat receptacles.
- the width of the tab is smaller than the width of the receiving space of the blade receptacle. If the tab were as wide as the receiving space, but this would contribute to the positive connection between the tab and blade receptacle.
- the length of the tab may correspond to or exceed the length of the receiving space of the blade receptacle. If the tab is longer than the receiving space, then the tab would in any case abut the front side of the first printed circuit board and could support itself and the second printed circuit board on the first printed circuit board. If the tab is the same length as the recording room, then the Support second circuit board at the free end of the blade receptacle.
- a blade receptacle 3 which can be used for the present invention. It has an approximately rectangular bottom plate 6, in the middle of which the inwardly into the receiving space 5 curved contact area 11 can be seen.
- the bottom plate 6 merges into side walls 7 on both sides.
- the bottom plate 6 and the two side walls 7 form the receiving space 5 for the tab.
- the receiving space 5 has the same length (in the drawing plane from top to bottom measured) as the side walls 7.
- the extension 9 is formed by an extension of the bottom plate 6, wherein the extension is less wide (measured horizontally in the plane of the drawing) than that Base plate 6. The lateral edges of the extension 9 are bent in the same direction as the side walls 7.
- Fig. 2 the same blade receptacle 3 is shown from the other side, so that in the interior of the receiving space 5 can be seen.
- FIG. 3 shows two tabs 3 before plugging into the holes 10 of the first circuit board 1.
- the two holes 10 are formed as slots and lie on a straight line.
- the dimensions of the holes 10 are selected so that the extension 9 can be inserted through the hole 10 in each case.
- the length of the extensions 9 are chosen so that they protrude on the other side of the first circuit board 1 on the circuit board, so that they can be fixed there by soldering to the circuit board.
- With the underside of the side walls 7 are the tabs 3 on the first circuit board 1 and form a right angle with this.
- the two tabs 3 are already firmly connected to the first circuit board 1.
- a second printed circuit board 2 is approximated with two tabs 4 at right angles to the first circuit board 1. These are adapted to the shape of the receiving space 5 of the blade receptacle 3 and have an approximately rectangular shape, wherein the two free corners are rounded.
- the tabs 4 have the same thickness as the second circuit board 2.
- the tabs 4 are provided at least on that side with a conductive layer, with which they rest on the contact portion 11 of the tab 3, so here on the back.
- conductive layer is for example a laminated copper layer in question.
- FIG. 5 are the two circuit boards 1, 2 already connected to each other by the tabs 4 of the circuit board 2 are pushed up to the stop in the tabs of the circuit board 1.
- the tab 4 is supported with its end face on the first circuit board 1, the second circuit board 2 is supported by the edge regions located next to the tabs 4 on the upper side of the flat receptacle 3, more precisely on its side walls 7.
- the compound of the invention can thus be readily separated and also restored by the tabs 4 are pulled out of the tabs 3 and inserted again.
- the material for the flat receptacles must be suitable for the production of electrical contacts, so must well have a good electrical conductivity, it can e.g. Be spring bronze.
- the width of the blade receptacle should be a multiple of the thickness of the second circuit board 2 or the tab 4, for example at least three times. If the thickness of the second Printed circuit board 2 here in the example 1.6 mm, then the width of the blade receptacle 3 and the tab 4 should be at least about 4.8 mm.
