  • the sealable coating layer on the lower part of the frame front wall 32 is brought into contact with the sealable coating layer on the inner surface of the box front wall 12 and the sealable coating layers are then heated so that the layers bond to each other to provide a hermetic seal between the frame front wall 32 and the box front wall 12.
  • the hinge lid 20 After assembly of the container 2 from the laminar blanks and the filling of the container with the bundle of smoking articles, the hinge lid 20 is closed so that the sealable coating layer on the inner surfaces of the hinge lid 20 is brought into contact with the sealable coating layer on the outer surfaces of the inner frame 30.
  • the sealable coating layers are then heated so that the layers bond to each other to provide a hermetic seal between the hinge lid 20 and the inner frame 30.
  • the consumer may grasp the pull tab 26 and pull the hinge lid 20 to break the hermetic seal between the hinge lid 20 and the inner frame 30 and to subsequently pivot the hinge lid 20 backwards towards the open position shown in Figure 1 .
  • a resealable adhesive is provided on at least the frame front wall 32 so that the hinge lid can be resealed in the closed position between uses, even after the hermetic seal provided by the coating layers has been broken.
  • the container 50 shown in Figure 3 is similar in construction to the container 2 shown in Figure 1 and comprises a hinge lid 20' connected to a box 10' for housing the smoking articles.
  • the hinge lid is hermetically sealed to the inner frame as a result of the bonding of the sealing coating layers, as described above for container 2.
  • a tear tape 52 is provided over the line of abutment between the free edges of the hinge lid 20' and the free edges of the box portion 10'.
  • the line of abutment is different to that of container 2, since it extends in a straight, horizontal line across the front wall and both side walls of the container.
  • the position of the hinge line 45 is above the level at which the free edges of the lid side walls meet the back wall of the container in the closed position of the hinge lid.
  • no pull tab or cut out are provided in the lid and box front walls.
  • the container 50 is shown in Figure 3 with the tear tape 52 partially removed.
  • the tear tape 52 In order to open the container 50 for the first time, the tear tape 52 must be fully removed from the container and the hermetic seal between the hinge lid 20' and the inner frame broken, as described above.

Claims (14)

  1. Behälter (2; 50) für Verbrauchsgüter, der Folgendes umfasst:
    eine Schachtel (10; 10') zur Aufnahme der Verbrauchsgüter;
    einen inneren Rahmen (30), der in der Schachtel (10) montiert ist und einen über die oberen Ränder (18) der Schachtel hinaus verlaufenden oberen Abschnitt hat; und
    einen Scharnierdeckel (20; 20'), der mit der Schachtel (10) entlang einer Scharnierlinie (45) verbunden und um die Scharnierlinie (45) zwischen einer offenen Position und einer geschlossenen Position klappbar ist, in der die Innenflächen des Scharnierdeckels (20) mit den Außenflächen des oberen Abschnitts des inneren Rahmens (30) in Kontakt sind;
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Innenflächen des Scharnierdeckels (20) und die Außenflächen des oberen Abschnitts des inneren Rahmens (30) wenigstens teilweise mit einer abdichtbaren Überzugsschicht aus einem abdichtbaren Material bedeckt sind, so dass die abdichtbaren Überzugsschichten auf den Kontaktflächen des Scharnierdeckels (20) und des inneren Rahmens (30) aneinander geklebt werden können, um vor dem ersten Öffnen des Scharnierdeckels (20) eine hermetische Abdichtung zu erzeugen.
  2. Behälter nach Anspruch 1, wobei das abdichtbare Material aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Polyolefin, PVDC und einem Klebewachs ausgewählt ist.
  3. Behälter nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, wobei wenigstens eine Wand des Behälters ein Innenpaneel (14a, 15a; 24a, 25a) und ein über dem Innenpaneel (14a, 15a; 24a, 25a) liegendes Außenpaneel (14b, 15b; 24b, 25b) umfasst, wobei die Kontaktflächen des Innenpaneels (14a, 15a; 24a, 25a) und des Außenpaneels (14b, 15b; 24b, 25b) von einer abdichtbaren Überzugsschicht aus dem abdichtbaren Material bedeckt werden und wobei die abdichtbaren Überzugsschichten auf den Kontaktflächen des Innenpaneels (14a, 15a; 24a, 25a) und des Außenpaneels (14b, 15b; 24b, 25b) zum Bilden einer hermetischen Abdichtung aneinander geklebt werden.
  4. Behälter nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, wobei der Scharnierdeckel (20) und die Schachtel (10; 10') aus einem oder mehreren laminaren Rohlingen (102, 130) gebildet sind und wobei die Innenflächen der ein oder mehreren laminaren Rohlinge (102, 130) von der abdichtbaren Überzugsschicht völlig bedeckt werden.
  5. Behälter nach einem vorherigen Anspruch, wobei die Verbrauchsgüter in eine Innenauskleidung eingeschlagen sind, die eine oder mehrere eine Öffnungslasche definierende Sollbruchlinien aufweisen, wobei die Öffnungslasche auf eine Innenfläche des Scharnierdeckels (20; 20') geklebt ist, so dass eine Bewegung des Scharnierdeckels (20; 20') in die Öffnungsposition eine Trennung der Öffnungslasche vom Rest der Innenauskleidung bewirkt, um eine Zugangsöffnung in der Innenauskleidung zu erzeugen.
  6. Behälter nach einem vorherigen Anspruch, wobei die Verbrauchsprodukte in eine Innenauskleidung eingeschlagen sind, die wenigstens teilweise mit der Schachtel (10; 10') in Kontakt ist, wobei die Außenfläche der Innenauskleidung und die Innenfläche der Schachtel (10; 10') wenigstens teilweise von einer abdichtbaren Überzugsschicht aus dem abdichtbaren Material bedeckt sind und wobei die abdichtbaren Überzugsschichten an den Kontaktflächen der Innenauskleidung und der Schachtel (10; 10') aneinander geklebt sind.
  7. Behälter nach einem vorherigen Anspruch, der ferner eine Schicht aus einem mehrfach klebbaren Klebstoff umfasst, der auf die abdichtbare Überzugsschicht in einem oder mehreren Bereichen auf der Außenfläche des inneren Rahmens aufgebracht ist, wobei der mehrfach klebbare Klebstoff den Scharnierdeckel (20; 20') in der geschlossenen Position lösbar abdichtet.
  8. Behälter nach einem vorherigen Anspruch, wobei die Frontwand (22) des Scharnierdeckels (20; 20') eine Ziehlasche (26) umfasst, die sich vom freien Rand (28) der Frontwand (22) erstreckt.
  9. Behälter nach einem vorherigen Anspruch, der ferner ein klebendes Reißband (52) umfasst, das vor dem ersten Öffnen des Scharnierdeckels (20') über einem oder mehrerem der freien Ränder des Scharnierdeckels (20') aufgebracht ist, um den Scharnierdeckel (20') in der geschlossenen Position abzudichten.
  10. Behälter nach einem vorherigen Anspruch, wobei die Abdichtkraft der Bindung zwischen der abdichtbaren Überzugsschicht auf der Innenfläche des Scharnierdeckels (20; 20') und der abdichtbaren Überzugsschicht auf der Außenfläche des inneren Rahmens (30) zwischen 4 Newton und 7 Newton liegt.
  11. Behälter nach einem vorherigen Anspruch, der ferner ein klebendes Etikett umfasst, das über den freien Rändern des Scharnierdeckels (20; 20') vorgesehen ist und den Scharnierdeckel (20; 20') mit dem Schachtelabschnitt (10; 10') vor dem ersten Öffnen des Behälters (2; 50) verbindet, wobei das Etikett eine Sollbruchlinie aufweist, die mit einem freien Rand des Scharnierdeckels (20; 20') im Wesentlichen zusammenfällt, so dass das Etikett entlang der Sollbruchlinie getrennt wird, wenn der Scharnierdeckel (20; 20') zum ersten Mal in die offene Position bewegt wird.
  12. Behälter nach einem vorherigen Anspruch, der einen Schnitt aufweist, der von gegenüberliegenden Enden der Scharnierlinie (45) über die Rückwand zum benachbarten Seitenrand der Rückwand des Behälters verläuft, wobei sich jeder Schnitt über maximal 2 mm vom Seitenrand erstreckt.
  13. Hermetisch abgedichtete Rauchartikelpackung, die einen Behälter (2; 50) nach einem vorherigen Anspruch mit mehreren im Schachtelabschnitt (10; 10') untergebrachten Rauchartikeln umfasst, wobei die Bindung zwischen den abdichtbaren Überzugsschichten auf der Innenfläche des Schachteldeckels (20; 20') und der Außenfläche des inneren Rahmens (30) intakt ist, um eine hermetische Abdichtung zu erzeugen.
  14. Verfahren zum hermetischen Abdichten eines Behälters (2; 50) für Verbrauchsartikel nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 12, das Folgendes beinhaltet: Bereitstellen einer abdichtbaren Überzugsschicht auf den Innenflächen des Scharnierdeckels (20; 20') und den Außenflächen des inneren Rahmens (30); Bereitstellen der Verbrauchsartikel im Schachtelabschnitt (10; 10'); Bewegen des Scharnierdeckels (45) in eine geschlossene Position; und Kleben der abdichtbaren Überzugsschichten der Kontaktflächen des inneren Rahmens (30) und des Scharnierdeckels (20; 20'), um eine hermetische Abdichtung zu erzielen.
