Definitions

  • the invention relates to a radial pneumatic vehicle tire with a radial carcass, a belt bandage comprising at least two belt plies and a bandage covering them and having a tread which is composed in the radial direction of two layers consisting of different rubber compounds, a tread cap and a tread base.
  • tread base shoulder side substantially in the radial direction extending lateral base flanks, which are overlapped on the outside by one side part, wherein in at least one tire shoulder in the tread base and optionally to the side part reaching a rubber insert is included, which consists of a rubber compound whose Rebound resilience is greater than that of the tread base, wherein the rubber component has a cross-sectional shape with continuously thinning and expiring sections, of which one in the direction tread center en tlang the bandage and the other to the edge of the bandage and the side part runs.
  • a generic pneumatic vehicle tire whose tread consists of a radially outer tread cap and a radially inner tread base.
  • the tread base is composed of a central, central portion and two lateral portions, the lateral portions having a greater thickness than the central portion.
  • the middle section consists of a rubber compound whose hardness is greater than that of the rubber compound in the lateral sections.
  • the ratio of the loss tangent of the rubber compound of the side portions to the loss tangent of the rubber compound of the middle portion is at most 2: 3.
  • the rolling resistance of the tire is to be improved by this special design of the tread base.
  • the EP 2 213 481 A1 relates to a tire for a two-wheeled vehicle with differently executed Tread.
  • the tread consists of an outer tread cap and a radially inner tread base also having a central central portion and two shoulder-side portions, the shoulder-side portions consisting of a rubber compound whose tan ⁇ is smaller than that of the central portion and the tread cap. Again, this measure serves to reduce the rolling resistance.
  • a variety of patent documents are concerned with the design of low rolling resistance radial tires for passenger cars.
  • a pneumatic vehicle tire having a tread base and a tread cap tread, the tread base comprising a central region of a first rubber compound and two regions of a second rubber compound adjoining each other axially outward.
  • the second rubber compound is harder and hysteresis richer than the first rubber compound.
  • a pneumatic vehicle tire with a tread cap and tread base tread is known in which the tread base is made of sections of different rubber compounds, the section in the central region of the tread base being made of a rubber compound whose hysteresis is higher than that of the rubber compound of the two lateral sections the tread base and the rubber compound of the tread cap.
  • This concept is intended to allow the tread cap to be heated by a high hysteresis base compound from within the tire to increase the flexibility of the tread cap and improve the winter performance of the tire through the higher operating temperature.
  • the invention has for its object to be able to achieve a reduction of the rolling resistance in a tire of the type mentioned, with the other properties of the tire or the tread, in particular the braking properties on wet surfaces and handling properties on dry roads, alike should stay.
  • the object is achieved according to the invention in that the rubber insert, which is contained in at least one tire shoulder in the tread base, surrounded by the rubber compound of the tread base and optionally of the rubber compound of the side part.
  • a rubber insert is arranged which consists of a rubber compound having a high resilience.
  • the cross-sectional area of the rubber insert part also plays a certain role in the reduction of the rolling resistance achievable with the invention.
  • the rubber insert should have a cross-sectional area between 8 mm 2 and 100 mm 2 , in particular up to 50 mm 2 .
  • the rubber mounting parts are positioned substantially at the lateral edge regions of the tread base. Positioning in which the rubber insert part is located radially outside the belt edge and has a side substantially following the course of the edge-side section of the belt or the bandage is particularly favorable. It is further advantageous if the rubber insert has a cross-section in the direction of the tread center and a direction radially inner end of the base flank becoming thin section.
  • the lateral edge portions of the tread base can be particularly well installed rubber mounting parts, which are essentially a triangle-like or rudbrund have designed cross-sectional area.
  • the rubber insert with a star-like cross-sectional area or in strip form.
  • All drawing figures show the tread area of a radial tire for passenger cars, of the usual components of the tire, a tread 1, a belt association consisting of a two belt layers 2a having belt 2 and a covering this bandage 3, a radial carcass 4, an inner layer 5 and 6 side parts are.
  • the belt layers 2a consist in a known manner of embedded in a rubber compound within each layer 2a parallel to each other steel cords, the bandage 3, which may be single or multi-layered, has embedded in rubber and in particular extending in the circumferential direction of strength, for example made of nylon, on.
  • the tread 1 is, as is also known, from a radially outer rubber layer, a tread cap 7, and a radially inner rubber layer, a tread base 8 constructed.
  • the tread base 8 has a thickness of about 2 mm to 3 mm and extends on the shoulder side to the two side parts 6.
  • the side parts 6 overlap on the outside substantially extending in the radial direction lateral base flanks 8a.
  • the tread 1 is profiled with grooves, cuts and the like, with only circumferential grooves 9 are shown in the drawing figures.
  • the two side parts 6 are either components - the radially outer portions - the side wall parts of the vehicle pneumatic tire or so-called wings of the tread cap 7, wherein wings usually consist of a deviating from the tread cap 7 rubber compound, in particular from the rubber compound of the sidewall parts of the tire.
  • the rubber compound for the tread cap 7 and the rubber compound for the tread base 8 may consist of a known rubber compound for cap and base parts of treads. In this case, the tread cap 7 has a lower rebound resilience than the tread base 8.
  • the high resilience is achieved in particular and, as is known, by a rubber compound which has a very high content of natural rubber and / or butadiene rubber and is rather low.
  • FIGS. 1 to 7 show different embodiments of shoulder-side rubber inserts 10, 10 ', 10 "and their preferred arrangements in the shoulder regions of the tire 16.
  • the rubber inserts 10, 10', 10" are positioned in the shoulder regions such that they do not wear to the tread at minimum tread depth reach to the running surface (ground contacting surface of the tread cap 7).
  • the built-in parts 10 are located in the shoulder-side edge portions of the tread base 8 and have an approximately triangular cross-section, wherein the longest side of the triangle substantially follows the course of the lateral edge portions of the bandage 3, another side substantially parallel to the base edge 8a and the third Side substantially in the axial direction.
  • the rubber insert 10 thus covers the region of the belt edges and runs at an acute angle between the bandage 3 and the side part 6 and towards the center of the tread.
  • the rubber insert 10 is embedded in the rubber compound of the tread base 8, wherein only a very thin layer of the tread base 8, in particular of the order of 0.5 mm thickness, is present on its sides facing the side part 6 and the bandage 3.
  • Fig. 2 shows a variant with a largely analogous to Fig. 1 executed, in cross-section approximately triangular rubber insert 10, which projects into the side part 6. There is a thin layer of the tread base 8 between the side of the rubber insert 10 and the bandage 3 running along the bandage 3.
  • the in the FIGS. 1 to 4 illustrated rubber parts 10 have a cross-sectional shape with continuously thinning and "leaking" sections, of which one runs in the direction of the tread center along the bandage 3 and the other to the edge of the bandage 3 and the side part 6.
  • a semi-circular cross-sectional shape of the built-in part 10 is possible.
  • the shoulder-side rubber mounting part 10 ' has a stem-like cross-section with a side running along the shoulder-side end portion of the bandage 3, with a thin layer of the tread base 8 between the bandage 3 and the mounting part 10'.
  • the rubber insert 10 ' may also be arranged in contact with the bandage 3.
  • a rubber insert 10 "in strip form is shown, which runs along the shoulder-side end portion of the bandage 3 and has a width of 1 mm to 2 mm (width less than base!).
  • the strip-shaped rubber insert 10" is positioned directly on the bandage 3 , like it Fig. 7 shows. However, there may also be a thin layer of the rubber material of the tread base 8 between the strip-like fitting 10 "and the bandage 3, as shown in FIG Fig. 6 is shown.
  • the shoulder-side rubber mounting parts 10, 10 ', 10 "shown in the figures have cross-sectional areas which are between 8 mm 2 and 100 mm 2 , in particular up to 50 mm 2 .
  • rubber inserts 10, 10 ', 10 "provided according to the invention can be arranged and designed in an analogous manner.
  • the rubber insert may also have other cross-sectional shapes, such as trapezoidal, ellipse-like and the like.
