Definitions
- the invention relates to methods and apparatus for removing mites, insects, microorganisms, allergens and / or fungi from upholstered articles and from filled bedding. It is described below how a targeted control of insects can also be done inside upholstery and fillings. Basically, several tasks are solved. On the one hand, solutions are created to destroy mites and other insects; Furthermore, fungal populations can be destroyed and furthermore allergens can be removed gently without causing further contamination in their environment. Resettlement and multiplication of pests is preventively prevented by biocenosis suppression and finely controlled biotic eco-factors.
- the preferred habitat for mites is the bed.
- Second is bedding (pillows, duvets), upholstery and other home textiles.
- a padded mattress dominate for the mite excellent Living conditions, due to the fact that the sleeper contributes to a high humidity and corresponding heat, which supports the biological climate and the reproduction of the pests.
- mold fungi especially the genus Aspergillus.
- mold also has a ubiquitous occurrence and spreads through spores, which are also highly allergenic carriers.
- the house dust mite feeds on dander, which the sleeper has spent on and through his movements in a mattress. These are digested by the mushroom enzymes and are thus more usable for the mite.
- EP 0047553 A1 describes a process with the active ingredient natamycin, which can be applied in the form of powder or a suspension. Further off WO 97/24484 A a biocide that works against house dust mites. Both active ingredients can only be superficially applied to a commodity and can not penetrate into the interior of the materials and act.
- DE 4333831 C2 the invention of a device for suction and with integrated UV light is presented, with which partially and superficially mites contaminated objects can be processed.
- DE 4344737 C2 a device is described which generates additional mechanical vibrations and can be superficially used on contaminated objects.
- fungicides and biocides in addition to a relatively simple application always harbors the dangers of adverse health effects; In addition, they are used in a highly sensitive area and possibly in households with persons who have previous illnesses and are sensitized anyway. They must be used repeatedly to achieve lasting effects. In the case of fungicides, there is also a great deal of concern about topical applications in the home, since they are inherently toxic substances. These agents also act only on the surface and can not penetrate into the deeper layers of padding.
- the invention is therefore based on the object as many mites and Hausstauballergene, and especially from the interior of upholstery to remove by selective access. What is desired is an effective and cost-effective solution that can be applied in a durable, practical and safe manner without potentially jeopardizing the health of those living in a household.
- the various embodiments of the invention a variety of uses should be possible.
- the object is achieved by providing the method according to claim 1, the device according to claim 7, as well as the padded article according to claim 12.
- Preferred embodiments are set forth in the respective subclaims.
- mites but also other insects, Deutonymphen (larvae), Eggs, fungi and fungal spores, microorganisms and their excretions, as well as all kinds of allergens, can be evacuated via this line or via this line system together with the previously introduced carrier material from the at least one body (A).
- these bodies (A) are already formed in the production of a commodity related to this invention.
- these bodies can already be poured into cushion cores, which consist for example of latex, or be provided during production in the form of cavities.
- a grate container which is fixed by a holder to the inner wall of the body (A) can advantageously be located in the bodies (A).
- the suction and / or blow pipe leads into the mesh container of the at least one body (A).
- the carrier material is introduced into the at least one body (A) or into the lattice container of the at least one body (A) by means of the ventilation means, wherein the mesh size of the openings of the body (A) or of the lattice container possibly arranged in it is smaller than that Carrier material is, so that the carrier material is securely retained by the body (A) or the mesh container and can not get into the surrounding cushioning material or filling material.
- the grate container provided according to one embodiment should preferably not touch the body (A), because it is desirable in this embodiment that on the inner wall of the body (A) still fungal colonies develop, the additional abiotic ecofactors, as prerequisites for survival of insects , just in these bodies (A) to suggest the willingness for a forced biological migration into these bodies (A).
- these bodies (A) form artificially created physiotopes in which a controlled biocenosis between insect (mite) and fungus takes place.
- the introduction of the carrier material into and the removal of the same from the at least one body (A) with the openings on its surface is carried out according to the invention with a ventilation means such.
- a ventilation means such.
- the suction and / or blowing unit can either be arranged within the objects or bedding items to be cleaned or be functionally assigned to the components of the system according to the invention as an external unit outside the objects or bedding. Mites and allergens, pollutants and carrier material are then removed via the blowing and / or suction function of this unit and preferably passed into an emptied container.
- the ventilating means which is preferably arranged outside the padded article or the bedding provided with contents, takes place, depending on the embodiment via a separate or one of several bodies (A) shared line of the type described above, as will be explained in more detail below.
- a separate or one of several bodies (A) shared line of the type described above as will be explained in more detail below.
- the invention can already be carried out successfully when in a body (A) only one line opens, which then by temporarily switching the ventilation means of suction / bubbles to bubbles / suction for introducing and discharging carrier material in or out of the body (A) is used, two lines can also lead into this body (A), so that the user only needs a suction or blowing function on the ventilation means.
- a preferred embodiment provides, in addition to each body (A) with the openings, a valve outside the unit, preferably a 2/3 way valve, in the suction and / or blowing line between each body (A) and the suction and / or to install blower unit.
- a valve outside the unit preferably a 2/3 way valve
- carrier material can be introduced or removed separately in each individual body (A).
- the 2/3 way valves are connected via a power line with the unit (ventilation), from where they are switched.
- a last activated body (A) receives a 2/2 way valve.
- the use of valves and their control greatly increases suction and blowing efficiency, and individual bodies can be filled and evacuated very efficiently with carrier material.
- a suction or blow-through process can be carried out selectively and in individual areas.
- each body (A) with the ventilation means over at least a separate (separate) line is connected. Accordingly, if the articles or bedding products have two or more bodies (A), they may be connected to the ventilation means via at least one of the number of separate conduits corresponding to the number of bodies (A).
- an air source in the form of an aggregate or ventilation means used according to the invention may be restricted to a sucking or blowing function if each body (A) is assigned both a conduit for introducing and a conduit for discharging carrier material, both of these Lines, preferably opposite, open into the body (A) or in the optionally present grid container and are particularly preferably connected to each other via a perforated area within the body (A) or within the lattice container.
- the effectiveness of the invention increasing is provided according to a further embodiment, in addition to the introduced into the cushion body first bodies (A) with openings which are connected via at least one tube designed as a tube with an aggregate (ventilation means), further second body ( B), namely to introduce UV transparent body in the padded objects, which preferably consist of flexible, the comfort of use positively influencing material, particularly preferably polymethylpentene, which is available under the brand name TPX ® on the market.
- UVA / B light means which are connected to the aggregate by means of a power line, are preferably emitted in a radiation range of 280-380 nanometers.
- This training has great advantages, as it supports the migration of the mites living in the upholstery into the first apertured bodies (A), from where they can then be removed in a targeted manner.
- Mites especially the Dust mite Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus, react negatively phototactically and can actively perceive light. This regularly triggers an escape response.
- Structural preference experiments have shown that mites can significantly find places that offer the best hiding and feeding conditions. Furthermore, molds and thus the food source of the mites are destroyed, with fungi still finding a protective area in front of the UV light inside the first body (A) and thus still being available as a symbiosis partner for the mites.
- a migration (migration) of mites in the first body (A) is additionally supported.
- the additional technique and incorporation of these body (B) elements per se creates a controlled, artificial habitat for mites, fungi and microorganisms, inside an object in places that are normally completely inaccessible, but now from a permanent one Subject to human control.
- a cyclic decontamination of an object is thus possible and desired. This can also be done manually by on-demand software, which takes into account factors such as ambient temperature, humidity, length of stay, season, and contaminants of the upholstered articles and bedding provided with fillings.
- a further embodiment of the invention provides to equip these second bodies (B) preferably with UVC light-emitting means in a radiation range of 100-280 nanometers, preferably with LEDs, which are connected by a power line to the aggregate, and additionally with the bodies (A). in upholstered articles and in bedding provided with contents.
- UVC radiation directly and effectively destroys the DNA and thus the life of mites and their brood, as well as microorganisms. Furthermore, molds and thus the food source of the mites can be destroyed and, as already executed, biological living conditions for the pests are destroyed.
- the aforementioned as well as other lighting means may also be provided without body (B).
- body (B) Through the use of LEDs, which are mounted and connected in series on a band in sequence, a flexible installation and the largest possible, effective illumination within a decontaminated object is possible.
- the presently mentioned carrier material may be selected from the group consisting of particulate, tissue-like, fibrous, textile materials or objects, wherein a carrier material of fabric or fibrous substances or substances is preferred. If the carrier material is particulate, the smallest particles should preferably have a diameter of at least 0.3 mm.
- a gas as a carrier material is not intended according to the invention.
- the skilled person is in principle not limited in the selection of its support material, if it is suitable, after a certain residence time in the bodies (A) together with mites, other insects, microorganisms, allergens and / or fungi or fungal spores from these bodies (A) be discharged into an area outside the padded items or the bedding provided with products.
- support material is sex pheromones, preferably 2-hydroxy-6-methoxybenzaldehyde provided and subsequently spent in body (A). This can be done via the leading into this body line by the material is blown or sucked depending on the embodiment, or by hand by moving into the body (A) or in the lattice containers possibly present in them.
- body (A) preferably 2-hydroxy-6-methoxybenzaldehyde
- the alternatives have been described previously. It is known that the large lateral and dermal opisthosomal glands of house dust mites produce pheromones that serve primarily as transient messengers and lead to positively controlled behavioral changes within a single species (releasing effect). Pheromones thus form intraspecific carriers of communication, which index under an mite species.
- the alarm pheromones trigger an escape initiated by these messenger substances, which occurs as desired in the bodies (A) according to the invention. It is envisaged to use this method with a combination of different pheromones, which emerge, for example, by means of partially perforated air ducts at several locations inside bedding and upholstered articles.
- the present invention relates to a device which, if appropriate only partially, can be introduced into padded articles or into bedding provided with fillings.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to methods and apparatus for removing mites, insects, microorganisms, allergens and / or fungi from upholstered articles and from filled bedding.
The emergence of allergies in the modern industrial nations is showing an increasing trend. In particular, asthma (bronchial asthma), but also rhinitis allergica, conjunctivitis allergica, up to irreversible lung diseases (pulmonary emphysema), are very often due to allergens in house dust. This is mainly due to allergen producers in our domestic areas. Almost 10% of all allergic persons in Central Europe suffer from an allergy to house dust.
The preferred habitat for mites is the bed. Second is bedding (pillows, duvets), upholstery and other home textiles. In a padded mattress dominate for the mite excellent Living conditions, due to the fact that the sleeper contributes to a high humidity and corresponding heat, which supports the biological climate and the reproduction of the pests.
In the area of the bed, however, there are also optimal conditions for the growth of mold fungi, especially the genus Aspergillus. Like mites, mold also has a ubiquitous occurrence and spreads through spores, which are also highly allergenic carriers. There is a symbiosis between house dust mites and mold fungi. Thus, the house dust mite feeds on dander, which the sleeper has spent on and through his movements in a mattress. These are digested by the mushroom enzymes and are thus more usable for the mite. After consumption by the mite, in the gastrointestinal tract passes, the fungal conidia germinate there and get through the excretions of the animals (mite faeces) back outward and thus into the interior of a cushion object or a bedding. This circumstance explains the common occurrence and explosion of mites and molds in mattresses and upholstery, pillows and duvets.
The excrements of house dust and bed mites, about twenty small Kotbällchen that excretes a single animal daily, are about 30 microns in size and contain the highest allergenic substances. Considering that these excretions, deep inside a padded object, disintegrate into very fine particles and are then only a few microns in size, a solution to the removal of these allergens seems almost impossible. Many attempts have been made in this field to at least partially tackle the problem.
Developments that are used to destroy mites are found in almost every household. Especially in so-called allergic households, where not infrequently several family members, very often infants and toddlers, may be affected by house dust allergies, agents for combating allergens are urgently desired.
On the market mattress pads and covers for upholstery and mattresses are available, which regularly washed at least achieve partial success in mite prevention.

It has to be said that current solutions are not just beneficial. The problem remains in this context, the extraction of allergens, the dead animals, their excrement and the molds, by suction through a device. Even the slightest amount of allergens, which are released into the air of a living space by the exhaust air of a suction device, are questionable. In addition, mites with their tentacles cling firmly into the fibers of a tissue and are very difficult to aspirate. Mites still remain on the surface and even more so in deeper layers of contaminated objects. They continue to multiply there, continue to grow, lay their eggs and produce their allergens. The suction power of the devices, which anyway only act on the surface, would have to be increased, which also brings with it claims to the filtering.
Additional risks exist in the case of thermal variants due to the risk of fire, especially significant when used in a sensitized area. It should be remembered that especially mites are very temperature resistant and long time must be exposed to a temperature of over 60 degrees to die off. Furthermore, high energy costs and emissions arise in the form of moisture, which in turn is undesirable discharged into the environment and creates favorable conditions for the house dust mites in the mattress. Thus, these solutions are also counterproductive, unless one spends the utensils to another place outside closed rooms, which is a considerable expense. Allergens are not removed by these measures, on the contrary, new populations arise and form in the objects ever more massive and new residues.
The use of fungicides and biocides in addition to a relatively simple application always harbors the dangers of adverse health effects; In addition, they are used in a highly sensitive area and possibly in households with persons who have previous illnesses and are sensitized anyway. They must be used repeatedly to achieve lasting effects. In the case of fungicides, there is also a great deal of concern about topical applications in the home, since they are inherently toxic substances. These agents also act only on the surface and can not penetrate into the deeper layers of padding.
According to scientific rules, it should be noted that according to previous findings, no effects, either by dehydration, or by supposedly mite-proof mattresses etc. are known, which would achieve an improvement in their complaints in allergy sufferers.
The invention is therefore based on the object as many mites and Hausstauballergene, and especially from the interior of upholstery to remove by selective access. What is desired is an effective and cost-effective solution that can be applied in a durable, practical and safe manner without potentially jeopardizing the health of those living in a household. The various embodiments of the invention, a variety of uses should be possible.
The object is achieved by providing the method according to
Depending on the physical nature of the carrier material, a grate container which is fixed by a holder to the inner wall of the body (A) can advantageously be located in the bodies (A). In this case, the suction and / or blow pipe leads into the mesh container of the at least one body (A). The carrier material is introduced into the at least one body (A) or into the lattice container of the at least one body (A) by means of the ventilation means, wherein the mesh size of the openings of the body (A) or of the lattice container possibly arranged in it is smaller than that Carrier material is, so that the carrier material is securely retained by the body (A) or the mesh container and can not get into the surrounding cushioning material or filling material. The grate container provided according to one embodiment should preferably not touch the body (A), because it is desirable in this embodiment that on the inner wall of the body (A) still fungal colonies develop, the additional abiotic ecofactors, as prerequisites for survival of insects , just in these bodies (A) to suggest the willingness for a forced biological migration into these bodies (A). Thus, these bodies (A) form artificially created physiotopes in which a controlled biocenosis between insect (mite) and fungus takes place. The use of several bodies (A) within a padded object even creates a complex system such that these ecotopes (biological habitats) can interact with neighboring ecotopes (other bodies (A)), which then function as eco-hosts (several ecotopes) their entirety form a kind of ecozone. If no granular, but relatively soft such. B. tissue-like support material is used without appreciable abrasive properties, can be dispensed with the lattice container, since the beneficial for supporting the biological effect fungal colony remains on the inner wall of the body (A). It should be noted, however, that the presence of a mesh container within the body (A), even when using an abrasive carrier material, is not an essential feature of the present invention.
The introduction of the carrier material into and the removal of the same from the at least one body (A) with the openings on its surface is carried out according to the invention with a ventilation means such. B. with a suction and / or blowing unit to which the at least one body (A) is connected via at least one pipe designed as a tube. In principle, the suction and / or blowing unit can either be arranged within the objects or bedding items to be cleaned or be functionally assigned to the components of the system according to the invention as an external unit outside the objects or bedding. Mites and allergens, pollutants and carrier material are then removed via the blowing and / or suction function of this unit and preferably passed into an emptied container. According to the invention, if a plurality of bodies (A) are used, their respective connection to the ventilating means, which is preferably arranged outside the padded article or the bedding provided with contents, takes place, depending on the embodiment via a separate or one of several bodies (A) shared line of the type described above, as will be explained in more detail below. Although the invention can already be carried out successfully when in a body (A) only one line opens, which then by temporarily switching the ventilation means of suction / bubbles to bubbles / suction for introducing and discharging carrier material in or out of the body (A) is used, two lines can also lead into this body (A), so that the user only needs a suction or blowing function on the ventilation means.
A preferred embodiment provides, in addition to each body (A) with the openings, a valve outside the unit, preferably a 2/3 way valve, in the suction and / or blowing line between each body (A) and the suction and / or to install blower unit. As a result, carrier material can be introduced or removed separately in each individual body (A). The effect of the suction and / or blowing power increases noticeably without the unit requiring a greater power for this purpose, which regularly makes demands on a higher and finer filter performance, which in turn adversely affects a suction power. This is counteracted here. The 2/3 way valves are connected via a power line with the unit (ventilation), from where they are switched. A last activated body (A) receives a 2/2 way valve. The use of valves and their control greatly increases suction and blowing efficiency, and individual bodies can be filled and evacuated very efficiently with carrier material. A suction or blow-through process can be carried out selectively and in individual areas.
According to a further preferred embodiment can be dispensed with a complex assembly of valve technology, if each body (A) with the ventilation means over at least a separate (separate) line is connected. Accordingly, if the articles or bedding products have two or more bodies (A), they may be connected to the ventilation means via at least one of the number of separate conduits corresponding to the number of bodies (A). According to a further preferred embodiment, an air source in the form of an aggregate or ventilation means used according to the invention may be restricted to a sucking or blowing function if each body (A) is assigned both a conduit for introducing and a conduit for discharging carrier material, both of these Lines, preferably opposite, open into the body (A) or in the optionally present grid container and are particularly preferably connected to each other via a perforated area within the body (A) or within the lattice container.
Further, the effectiveness of the invention increasing, is provided according to a further embodiment, in addition to the introduced into the cushion body first bodies (A) with openings which are connected via at least one tube designed as a tube with an aggregate (ventilation means), further second body ( B), namely to introduce UV transparent body in the padded objects, which preferably consist of flexible, the comfort of use positively influencing material, particularly preferably polymethylpentene, which is available under the brand name TPX ® on the market. In these second bodies, UVA / B light means, which are connected to the aggregate by means of a power line, are preferably emitted in a radiation range of 280-380 nanometers. This training has great advantages, as it supports the migration of the mites living in the upholstery into the first apertured bodies (A), from where they can then be removed in a targeted manner. Mites, especially the Dust mite Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus, react negatively phototactically and can actively perceive light. This regularly triggers an escape response. Structural preference experiments have shown that mites can significantly find places that offer the best hiding and feeding conditions. Furthermore, molds and thus the food source of the mites are destroyed, with fungi still finding a protective area in front of the UV light inside the first body (A) and thus still being available as a symbiosis partner for the mites. As a result, a migration (migration) of mites in the first body (A) is additionally supported. The additional technique and incorporation of these body (B) elements per se creates a controlled, artificial habitat for mites, fungi and microorganisms, inside an object in places that are normally completely inaccessible, but now from a permanent one Subject to human control. A cyclic decontamination of an object is thus possible and desired. This can also be done manually by on-demand software, which takes into account factors such as ambient temperature, humidity, length of stay, season, and contaminants of the upholstered articles and bedding provided with fillings.
A further embodiment of the invention provides to equip these second bodies (B) preferably with UVC light-emitting means in a radiation range of 100-280 nanometers, preferably with LEDs, which are connected by a power line to the aggregate, and additionally with the bodies (A). in upholstered articles and in bedding provided with contents. UVC radiation directly and effectively destroys the DNA and thus the life of mites and their brood, as well as microorganisms. Furthermore, molds and thus the food source of the mites can be destroyed and, as already executed, biological living conditions for the pests are destroyed. In a further development, it is proposed to open a conduit into this second body (B) which is connected to the unit (ventilation means). Through this line, air can be blown into the second body (B) for cooling via the unit. This considerably extends the life of the lamps, in particular of UVC lamps.
According to an alternative embodiment, the aforementioned as well as other lighting means may also be provided without body (B). Through the use of LEDs, which are mounted and connected in series on a band in sequence, a flexible installation and the largest possible, effective illumination within a decontaminated object is possible.
The presently mentioned carrier material may be selected from the group consisting of particulate, tissue-like, fibrous, textile materials or objects, wherein a carrier material of fabric or fibrous substances or substances is preferred. If the carrier material is particulate, the smallest particles should preferably have a diameter of at least 0.3 mm. The use of a gas as a carrier material is not intended according to the invention.
The skilled person is in principle not limited in the selection of its support material, if it is suitable, after a certain residence time in the bodies (A) together with mites, other insects, microorganisms, allergens and / or fungi or fungal spores from these bodies (A) be discharged into an area outside the padded items or the bedding provided with products.
In one embodiment, support material is sex pheromones, preferably 2-hydroxy-6-methoxybenzaldehyde provided and subsequently spent in body (A). This can be done via the leading into this body line by the material is blown or sucked depending on the embodiment, or by hand by moving into the body (A) or in the lattice containers possibly present in them. The alternatives have been described previously. Even the lowest concentrations of pheromones are known to be recognized by the mites. This embodiment of the method according to the invention is particularly effective, since by using the sexual pheromone 2-hydroxy-6-methoxy-benzaldehyde, perceptions of the mites can be influenced in a targeted manner. By transferring these pheromones via a line into a mattress, it is possible that male house dust mites of the genus Dermatophagoides feel attracted by these messenger substances and go specifically into the body (A). There they can be removed again with the described alternatives (suction, blow-out). Reproduction of the mites, insofar as they are still possible by means of individual male specimens of the house dust mite remaining in a padded article and in bedding provided with contents, is prevented. In addition to the sex hormones, the use of so-called aggretation pheromones and alarm pheromones is also an option within the scope of the invention.
Accordingly, according to a further preferred embodiment, at least one line which is connected to the suction and / or blowing unit and which in cushioned articles and in bedding provided with filling, especially in mattresses, leads, spent alarm pheromones in an air mixture. For this purpose, the substances 2-hydroxy-6-methylbenzaldehyde, preferably a mixture of (Z) -6 and (Z) -7-tetradecene and pentadecene, and (Z) -5-tridecene, particularly preferably derivatives such as geranial and Nerylformiat, completely particularly preferably isopiperitenone, mixed with the injection or intake air and introduced into the object to be cleaned. Within this object, the alarm pheromones trigger an escape initiated by these messenger substances, which occurs as desired in the bodies (A) according to the invention. It is envisaged to use this method with a combination of different pheromones, which emerge, for example, by means of partially perforated air ducts at several locations inside bedding and upholstered articles.
According to a further aspect, the present invention relates to a device which, if appropriate only partially, can be introduced into padded articles or into bedding provided with fillings. This device for removing mites from cushioned articles and provided with filling bedding comprises at least one body (A) with openings on its surface and a suction and / or blowing unit, wherein the at least one body (A) is adapted for receiving a carrier material and for at least one pipe designed as a tube for introducing and removing the carrier material into or out of the at least one body (A) is connected to the suction and / or blowing unit. According to a preferred embodiment, the device comprises two or more bodies (A) which are connected to the suction and / or blowing unit via at least one common line or via at least one number of separate lines corresponding to the number of bodies (A). Preferably, two lines each lead to the separate introduction and removal of carrier material into a body (A). Furthermore, it may be preferred that the device further comprises at least one light source. According to a further embodiment, the common line between the suction and / or blowing unit and the two or more bodies (A) has a number of valves corresponding to the number of bodies (A) so that the carrier material is introduced into each body (A) separately and / or can be dissipated separately from each body (A).
