Abstract

The device consists of a bowl (1) which presents a perimeter edge (2) in which are arranged a set of pointed lugs (3) and a series of securing holes (4).
For its part, a hoop (5) presents a set of guide holes (6) coinciding with the pointed lugs (3), and a series of through holes (7) coinciding with the securing holes (4).
Once the bowl (1) is secured to the ground, an impermeable fabric (8) is spread over it and is pressed down, so that the pointed lugs (3) traverse it and become visible. The hoop (5) is positioned by introducing the pointed lugs (3) into the guide holes (6) and locating the screws (9) which traverse the through holes (7) of the hoop (5) and become firmly tightened in the securing holes (4) of the perimeter edge (2), permitting the hoop (5) to clasp the impermeable fabric (8). Finally, part of the impermeable fabric (8) is detached along the cutting line (10) in order to allow the passage of water.

Description

  • This invention relates to a device for securing impermeable fabrics used in water evacuation systems. Its field of application is that of auxiliary construction materials.
  • The use of impermeable fabrics in water evacuation systems has the aim of collecting the water coming from the overflow of a drainage siphon and that collected by means of the impermeable fabric. The latter rests on a perimeter edge of a bowl which channels the water as far as a drainage pipe. Although the evacuation systems can differ slightly one from another, in the context of this document we shall regard the bowl as being any element of an evacuation system intended to channel the water collected by an impermeable fabric.
  • The design of a typical evacuation system can be seen in document ES 1071660 U from the actual applicant, which describes an improved bowl permitting automatic adjustment of the vertical distance between the drainage siphon and the bowl. The impermeable fabric is spread over the bowl once the latter has been fixed to the ground, and is then cut and folded towards the side walls thereof which extend down below the perimeter edge. Although the latter usually has a groove for gripping, the securing by friction and folding of the impermeable fabric is minimal.
  • With the aim of solving this problem, a hoop has been incorporated which clasps the impermeable fabric against the perimeter edge of the bowl under the action of some fastening screws. The difficulty is that, when the impermeable fabric is spread over the bowl, we cover the securing holes, so we do not precisely know what their position is.
  • Consequently, one of the objectives of this invention is to provide a securing device for impermeable fabrics in water evacuation systems that will allow the hoop to be positioned automatically, even if the securing holes for the perimeter edge of the bowl cannot be seen.
  • In order to achieve the proposed objective, a device has been conceived in which a set of pointed lugs are provided on the upper surface of the perimeter edge of the bowl, which likewise incorporates securing holes. For its part, the hoop presents a set of guide holes where the pointed lugs of the perimeter edge of the bowl are introduced, and a set of through holes which are coincident with the securing holes of the perimeter edge and permit the corresponding securing screws to pass through.
  • In this way, and once the impermeable fabric has been spread over the bowl, we will press on the fabric until the impermeable fabric is pierced by the pointed lugs serving as a guide for the hoop. The through holes provided in the hoop will be left automatical facing the securing holes of the perimeter edge.
  • The advantages of this solution are important:
    • It permits quick and easy fitting of the hoop.
    • It eliminates time lost due to sizing up.
    • It does away with the possibility of errors.
    • It permits perfect immobilisation of the impermeable fabric.
  • In order to complement the foregoing description, and with the aim of aiding a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, a detailed description is going to be made of a preferred embodiment, on the basis of a set of drawings accompanying this descriptive specification and in which the following has been represented in an illustrative and non-limiting basis.
    • Figure 1 shows a plan view of the bowl and hoop combination, constituting the inventive device.
    • Figure 2 shows a cutaway view in cross-section along the line II-II of figure 1.
  • In the above figures, the numerical references refer to the following parts and elements:
    • 1- Bowl
    • 2- Perimeter edge
    • 3- Pointed lugs
    • 4- Securing holes
    • 5- Hoop
    • 6- Guide holes
    • 7- Through holes
    • 8- Impermeable fabric
    • 9- Screws
    • 10- Cutting line
  • As can be seen in figures 1 and 2, the inventive device consists of a bowl (1) which presents a perimeter edge (2) in which are provided a set of pointed lugs (3), along with a series of securing holes (4).
  • For its part, a hoop (5) presents a set of guide holes (6) coinciding with the pointed lugs (3), and a series of through holes (7) coinciding with the securing holes (4).
  • In this way, once the bowl (1) is secured to the ground, the impermeable fabric (8) is spread over it and is pressed down, so that the pointed lugs (3) traverse it and become visible. It simply remains to place the hoop (5) by introducing the pointed lugs (3) into the guide holes (6) and locating the screws (9) which traverse the through holes (7) of the hoop (5) and become firmly tightened in the securing holes (4) of the perimeter edge (2) of the bowl (1), permitting the hoop (5) to clasp the impermeable fabric (8). Finally, part of the impermeable fabric (8) is detached along the cutting line (10) in order to allow the passage of water.
  • It will be evident to an expert in the field that there is a series of modifications and variants which, though respecting the essence of the invention, adapt the execution to the design and to the means of production. So, the securing holes (4) will advantageously permit self-tapping of the screws (9) but they can equally be threaded previously, they can incorporate a metric nut, or any equivalent solution.
  • In the preferred embodiment, a perimeter edge (2) has been represented, which presents a broken section in order to improve the grip of the impermeable fabric (8), though it can present a straight section or any other appropriate shape.
  • In terms of materials, any formulation suited to be intended use will be able to be employed.
