Assuming that for simple and medium-tight mounting of the teat, the inner diameter of its end portion should be about 90% to about 100% of the outer diameter of the container mouth in the unloaded state, the terminal part has an unloaded inner diameter of preferably about 15 to about 50 mm ( Claim 4). Es versteht sich, dass bei der Wahl dieser Länge nicht allein die axiale Länge des zu überdeckenden Mündungsteils zu berücksichtigen ist, sondern auch die zusätzliche Länge, welche durch die Angleichung an radiale Vorsprünge und Einschnürungen der Mündungsaussenfläche erforderlich ist. Die optimale Länge lässt sich in Vorversuchen bestimmen. Andererseits sollte der Basisabschnitt zwecks einfacher Handhabung und Materialeinsparung nicht unnötig lang sein und ist deshalb vorzugsweise höchstens ungefähr 35 mm lang (Anspruch 5). Somit lässt sich der Absatz 26 beim Aufsetzen des Trinksaugers 2a in die Flaschenmündung einführen und bewirkt eine radiale Ausrichtung des Trinksaugers bezüglich der Flasche. Claims (11)

  1. Teat for infants or the elderly, made of a soft-elastic material and having a hollow teat nipple (4) provided with an integrally adjacent hollow base portion (6) for being placed onto a beverage container (18), wherein the teat nipple is provided at an end portion (8) thereof with at least one drinking slit (10), characterized in that at least a terminal portion (12) of the base portion is outwardly reeled up in a direction towards the teat nipple and that the base portion is provided at the end thereof directed away from the teat nipple with a termination bulge (14).
  2. The teat according to claim 1, wherein the soft-elastic material is latex or silicone.
  3. The teat according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the teat nipple has a nipple wall thickness of 0.5 to 2 mm and wherein the terminal portion of the base portion has a base wall thickness of 0.1 to 0.5 mm.
  4. The teat according to one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the terminal portion has an unstressed inner diameter of about 15 to about 50 mm.
  5. The teat according to one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the terminal portion in the unrolled state thereof has a length of about 20 mm to about 35 mm.
  6. The teat according to claim 4 or 5, wherein the terminal portion has an unstressed inner diameter of about 18 to about 20 mm.
  7. The teat according to claim 4 or 5, wherein the terminal portion has an inner diameter of about 40 to about 45 mm.
  8. The teat according to one of claims 1 to 7, wherein the base portion (6) is provided at a central portion thereof with a cylindrical step (26) having an outer collar (28) pointing in an axial direction of the teat, to which collar the reeled up terminal portion (12, 14) is attached.
  9. Use of the teat according to one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the teat is applied onto a filled beverage container instead of the cap thereof.
  10. A method for applying a teat onto the throat of an open beverage container, the throat having a predetermined outer diameter, the method comprising the steps of:
    a) providing a teat according to one of claims 1 to 8 with the provision that the inner diameter of the terminal portion is about 90% to about 100% of the outer diameter of said throat;
    b) applying the teat onto the throat in such manner that the terminal portion is substantially concentric to the throat and that the teat nipple is directed away from the beverage container; and
    c) unrolling the terminal portion over the throat, whereby the terminal portion of the base portion sealingly surrounds the throat.
  11. The method according to claim 10, wherein the throat comprises an outer thread.
