Description
- The present invention relates to a dispenser of liquids (in particular, of at least one beverage, and more in particular, drinking water) and a use of a container device.
- In offices, canteens, and normal dwellings there is increasing spread of dispensers of liquids, in particular drinking water, in which pre-filled refill reservoirs are used.
- In such dispensers a full refill is inserted when a previous refill is exhausted, i.e., when all the water contained therein has been used. Obviously, the previous empty refill is removed from the dispenser, before insertion of a new refill full of liquid.
- Typically, dispensers of this sort comprise a containment chamber within which the water present in the refill reservoir is supplied by gravity.
- In some cases, the containment chambers can be cooled and/or heated so as to enable the user to draw off hot water and/or cold water according as needed. A dispenser according to the preamble of
claim 1 is known fromEP 0 581 491 A1 . - Drinking-water dispensers of a known type have various drawbacks, amongst which the fact that cleaning and hygiene of the containment chamber/chambers can be obtained only through very frequent maintenance and cleaning operations. These operations are extremely complex, problematical, and long and consequently require long periods in which the dispenser cannot in actual fact be used.
- It should be noted that the quality of the water that is drawn off and then drunk by users is indissolubly linked to the hygiene and cleanliness of the containment chamber. Consequently, a non-frequent maintenance and/or cleaning of the dispensers can lead to waters with bad tastes and/or high bacterial charges (with consequent evident risks for health).
- The aim of the present invention is to provide a dispenser of liquids (in particular, of at least one beverage; more in particular, drinking water) and a use of a container device that will be free from the drawbacks described above and, at the same time, will be convenient and economically advantageous to produce.
- The present invention relates to a dispenser according to appended
claim 1 and the use of a container device according to appendedclaim 10. Specific embodiments are covered by the dependent claims. - The invention is described in what follows with reference to the annexed drawings, which illustrate some non-limiting examples of embodiment thereof and in which:
-
Figure 1 is a schematic illustration of a container device, use of which is in accordance with the present invention; -
Figure 2 is a schematic illustration of a dispenser, which, when combined with the container device ofFigure 1 , defines a dispenser according to the present invention; -
Figure 3 illustrates a web from which a sac forming part of the container device ofFigure 1 can be obtained; and -
Figure 4 is cross-sectional view of the web ofFigure 3 . - In
Figure 2 designated as a whole by 1 is a dispenser of liquids (in particular, of at least one beverage; more in particular, drinking water). Thedispenser 1 comprises: acontainment chamber 2 for the beverage; a delivery device 3; and aconnection device 4 for enabling installation of areplaceable refill reservoir 5 on thedispenser 1 and for setting thedispenser 1 in fluid communication with therefill reservoir 5. - The delivery device 3 is designed to enable or prevent outlet of the beverage from the
containment chamber 2 so as to enable a user to draw off the beverage from thedispenser 1. Typically, the delivery device 3 comprises a tap. - According to the shown embodiment, the
dispenser 1 comprises afurther containment chamber 6 connected to afurther delivery device 7. Thecontainment chambers containment chamber 2 is cooled by means of acooling device 9, whereas the beverage present in thechamber 6 is heated by means of heater means (not illustrated - typically, electrical resistors). - The
cooling device 9 comprises acooling element 10 set within thecontainment chamber 2 and jutting out from an inner surface of thechamber 2 itself. - An
opening 11 sets thecontainment chambers - The
connection device 4 comprises aseat 12, set within which is apointed sleeve 13 and mounted in which, in use, is a neck 14 (oriented downwards) of therefill reservoir 5. In particular, when therefill reservoir 5 is mounted on thedispenser 1, the sleeve 13 (which is hollow and open at the ends) extends within thereservoir 5 so as to enable passage of the beverage from thereservoir 5 to thechamber 2. - The
dispenser 1 further comprises acontainer device 15, which in turn comprises acontainer 16. Thecontainer device 15 is set within thechamber 2. Thecontainer device 15 is designed to enable passage of the beverage from theconnection device 4 to thedelivery device 7 without the beverage itself coming into contact with the inner surface of thecontainment chamber 2. In this way, the possibility within thechamber 2 of creation of deposits (for example, lime) and/or of development of bacteria and/or of onset of other problems of a hygienic nature is limited in a practically total way. In this regard, it should be emphasized that thecontainer device 15 can be removed and replaced easily whenever desired so as to maintain a high quality of the beverage delivered by thedispenser 1. Advantageously, thecontainer device 15 is of the disposable type and, once used, does not need to be washed, but can be directly thrown away (after being replaced by another "new" container device 15). - Advantageously, the
container 16 comprises (more in particular, is) a (substantially) limp sac, i.e., a sac that has a different shape when it is empty and when it is full (filled with a fluid). In particular, the volume of a (substantially) limp sac when full (i.e., filled with a fluid) is several times (at least three times) greater than that of the same sac when it is substantially empty. It should be noted that the (substantially) limp sac has numerous advantages as compared to a rigid container. For example, the (substantially) limp sac is relatively simple and inexpensive to produce, light, and manageable. -
