Description

The present invention is in the field of connection technology and relates to hinges which are used in particular in glass elements. These glass elements are used, among other things, in sanitary technology.

It is known that in shower cabins, the shower curtains are increasingly being replaced by glass. As partition walls, glass panes have the advantage that they are easier to clean, do not visually lock the cabin space and provide better protection against spray water from the shower. On the other hand, the properties and characteristics of glass in the handling and processing of glass require different conditions compared to shower curtains made of fabric or plastic. Among other things, weight, fragility and processing ability of glass are very different to those of fabric or plastic.

There are now a large number of mounting options for glass panels in shower cubicles. Thus, the glass sheets are provided with metal frames of, for example, aluminum and fixed with other means which are connected to the frame. Or glass sheets are fixed with clamps or clamps of similar means. These devices normally do not require post-processing of the glass of the slices by cutting or breaking. However, the prior art comprises connecting elements for glass panes which consist of several individual parts: a first element for holding the glass pane and a second element connected to the first element for mounting to the wall or to another glass element. The glass surface is more difficult to access at the edge due to the connecting elements that hold the glass pane. These fasteners clamp the glass sheet from both surfaces and thereby form a bump on the glass sheet. Likewise, screws that fix the connecting elements with the glass pane, visible from the outside and thus weather-prone and unaesthetic. The easy accessibility of the screws from the outside also reduces safety, as this provides the possibility of easily detaching and removing the connecting element from the glass pane. Such fasteners or fasteners are due to the number of Parts more expensive and complicated and complicate the other hand, the treatment and cleaning of glass, since they are no longer flat.

The object of the present invention is to overcome the aforementioned problems and to produce a low-cost and simple hinge which is flush with the glass element.

In particular, the present invention relates to an arrangement for the pivotal connection of two plate-shaped glass elements with a first and second hinge part, which are pivotally connected to each other; and two attachment means for attaching the hinge parts to each of the two glass elements, the arrangement being characterized in that the attachment means are each formed such that they are formed in the mounted state of the associated glass element flush with the two surfaces of the glass element.

Advantageously, the fastening means each enclose a cavity into which the associated hinge part at least partially extends and in which this is anchored.

Preferably, the fastening means consist of two plate-shaped parts, which are fastened around the cavity and clamped to the associated glass element.

Advantageously, the connection of the two plate-shaped parts by a screw connection.

Advantageously, the screw connection has two screws which extend parallel to the glass element through the cavity.

Vorteilhafterweise sind die Befestigungsmittel identisch ausgebildet.Advantageously, the fastening means are identical.

Furthermore, the present invention relates to a shower cubicle with at least one wall element consisting of glass and also made of glass existing door, which is pivotally connected to the wall element, wherein the shower cubicle is characterized in that the connection between the wall element and door by at least one, preferably more of the aforementioned arrangements.

Preferably, the wall element and the door have the same thickness.

The hinge 12 comprises a hinge joint 6, a right wing of a first plate-shaped part 2, a second plate-shaped part 3, two screws 4 and an adapter element 5, a left wing and is the hinge axis and the cross-sectional line AA, as in FIG. 4 shown symmetrically. The left wing includes the same components of the right wing. The right side of the hinge is shown in an exploded diagram, which shows the internal structure of the hinge and in particular the screws used. On the left side of the hinge, the first and second plate-shaped part are arranged flush with the surface and flush in a recess of the glass element.

The glass element 1 is at least a part of a glass pane, as used for example in a shower cubicle. Of course, instead of a glass pane also Plexiglas or another plastic can be used. The glass element 1 has a U-shaped recess on the edge. This recess extends through the entire thickness of the glass element 1 and preferably has a trapezoidal edge, i. The edge has a trapezoidal cross-section and tapers towards the middle of the recess. The center of the recess is in the center of strength of the glass element. Due to the trapezoidal shape, the hinge 12 can be firmly and stably mounted and fixed in the recess. The legs of the trapezoid preferably each have a 45 ° degree angle to the base of the trapezoid, the base corresponding to an imaginary line from the edge of the glass surface at the recess to the edge of the opposite glass surface at the recess. Of course, the legs can have different angles. Likewise, the cross section of the rim may have any other shape that tapers towards the center of the recess. Instead of straight legs, crooked ones can be used, for example.

The first plate-shaped part 2 comprises a flat plate, screw holders 10 for receiving the screws 4, and a cavity 9 adapted to receive a web 7 of the hinge joint 6.

The plate has a U-shaped edge and a surface which is equal to or less than the area of the recess from the edge of the glass surface, and is suitable flush with the glass surface in a mounted state of the hinge. The flushness is achieved inter alia by the edge of the plate, which has the same angle as the leg of the recess of the glass element 1. Therefore, the cross section of the edge of the plate is preferably wedge-shaped. Of course, the edge of the plate may have any other structure corresponding to a mirror image of the edge of the recess. Due to the parallel surfaces of the edge of the recess and the edge of the plate creates a frictional connection of the surfaces.

On the surface of the plate of the first plate-shaped part 2, which is directed in the assembled state of the hinge to the plate of the second plate-shaped part 3 and parallel thereto, is an extension (or called elevation), which is a vertical wall to the plate of the part 2 and has a plane parallel to the plate of the part 2, flat surface. The extension is U-shaped and forms the cavity 9 between the legs of the 3, U '. When assembled, the entire surface of the extension evenly contacts the plate of the part 3, and the thickness of the glass element 1 is at least equal to the sum of the thickness of the plate of the part 2, the thickness of the extension and the thickness of the plate of the part 3, to a surface flush of Sometimes support the hinge and glass element. Preferably, the sum of the starches of the above ingredients is equal to the thickness of the glass member.

In the extension, the screw holders 10 are included, each corresponding to cylindrical recesses and their axes are each perpendicular to the wall of the extension. These cylindrical recesses are adapted to receive the screws 4. There is at least one recess per screw and at least one of these at least one recess comprises a thread to connect the screw 4 with the extension and thereby with the first plate-shaped part 2 or screw. The cavity 9 and the screw supports 10 are designed so that at least a portion of a screw screwed in is exposed and can interact with at least one fastening claw.

The second plate-shaped part 3 comprises a flat plate which corresponds in shape to the plate of the first plate-shaped part 2 and is mirror-inverted to it. In addition, the dough comprises 3 fixing claws 11, as in FIG. 6 to be shown.

There is at least one mounting claw for each of the plate-shaped part 3 for each of the two screws 4. The fastening claw 11 is adapted to connect with the bolt of the screw 4 exposed in the cavity 9. The fastening claw 11 comprises a rod which is perpendicular to the plate of the part 3 and tangentially contacts the screw 4, as in FIG. 6 shown, and a Hintergreifung, whereby the screw 4 can exercise on the rod on the part 3 force or hold in its mounted position. The Hintergreifung can form an eyelet, whereby the screw 4 can be performed or screwed into it. In one case, the Hintergreifung between the screw 4 and plate of the first part 2 is clamped so that the second part 3 can not move. In another case, the fastening claw clings to the screw 4, which is fixed in the first part 2, whereby the second part 3 also can not move.

The two screws 4 on one side of the hinge joint in the mounted state parallel to each other, each screwed to at least one thread of the first plate-shaped part 2 and connect the hinge joint 6 by means of the screw receptacles 8 to the first plate-shaped part 2. The screws 4 are perpendicular to the hinge axis assembled. The screws can only be screwed in or out when the hinge joint 6 is angled and makes the heads of the screws 4 accessible from the outside.

The hinge joint 6 further comprises a web 7, screw receptacles 8 and a fastener, wherein the joint may have an axis or two parallel axes.

The web 7 can be connected either fixedly and immovably to the fastening element or movably to the joint 6. In the first case, the web only serves as a lever arm for the joint 6 and attachment in the cavity 9 of the plate-shaped part 2. In the second case, the hinge can additionally pull out the web 7 when the hinge is angled, from the cavity 9. Preferably, the web 7 is pushed back by a spring in the cavity 9. In the non-angled state of the hinge, parts 2 and 3 may almost contact each other on the other side of the hinge, as in FIG FIG. 2 and 4 shown. When bent, an edge of part 2 or 3 is at the edge of the part corresponding part on the opposite side of the hinge axis almost in contact, as in FIG. 3 shown. Therefore, hardly any water can penetrate between the glass elements in each state. The web 7 is located in the cavity 9, is rectangular in shape and lies in the cavity 9 with its largest surface on the first plate-shaped part 2, as in FIG. 6 shown. The extension and the second plate-shaped part 3 do not come into contact with the web 7 in the cross section shown. Advantageously, the web 7 in the non-angled state of the hinge at most the length of the cavity 9, a width that has between the U-legs of the extension game, and a thickness between the first and second part 2 and 3 game. As in FIG. 5 Shown spacers can push from the second plate-shaped part 3, the web 7 against the first plate-shaped part 2 to limit the game of the web 7.

The fastener is connected to the hinge 6 and comprises the screw receptacles 8. The fastener has at least the same thickness as the extension. In the assembled state, the fastening element with the extension terminates at the edge to the joint. For this purpose, the plate-shaped part 2 comprises an extra recess for the fastening element. In addition, the protruding cylinders of the screw receptacles 8 can be inserted into the screw holders 10. The protruding cylinders are not necessary, but stabilize the mounting of the fastener in the recess of the part 2.

The adapter element 5 is arranged between the edge of the recess of the glass element and the edge of the first and second plate-shaped part 2 and 3, respectively. The adapter element 5 is preferably constructed of rubber or another plastic. Of course, also sheet metal, metal, light metal or steel can be used. These materials can also be used for the other components of the hinge 12. The adapter element 5 has the same trapezoidal profile as the edge of the recess of the glass element or the edge of the composite plate-shaped parts 2 and 3 of the hinge 12, as in FIGS. 5 and 6 shown. As a result, it fits both on the edge of the hinge and on the edge of the recess of the glass element. By a curvature in the adapter element 5 and in the edge of the first plate-shaped part 2, the adapter element 5 is clipped onto the part 2 and thus fixed. In addition, the adapter element 5 is equal to any Differences in size between the plate of a plate-shaped part and the recess of the glass element. The adapter element 5 is not necessary if the plate of the hinge fits exactly on the recess. If it is made of rubber or the like, the adapter element 5 helps to keep any moisture away from the inside of the hinge.

FIG. 2 shows an arrangement FIG. 1 wherein the hinge 12 is not angled. Both the glass element and the second plate-shaped part 3, which is evident from the hinge 12, are flush and level. Both sides to the vertical axis of symmetry are flush and level. Likewise, the adapter element 5 can be seen. The hinge 6 of the hinge and the screws 4 are not visible from the outside.

FIG. 3 shows an arrangement FIG. 1 or 2 , where the hinge is angled. In this state, not only the glass element 1 and the second plate-shaped part 3, which are flush with each other, can be seen, but also the hinge joint 6, as well as their screw receptacles 8. In this state of the hinge, the screws 4 are accessible by means of tools and can from the Hinge 12 are removed.

FIG. 4 shows a plan view of an arrangement, wherein the hinge is not angled. The arrangement shows the glass element 1 and the second plate-shaped part 3, the hinge joint 6 and the adapter element 5. In addition, two mutually perpendicular cross-sectional lines AA and BB are shown, whose cross-sections in more detail in the FIGS. 5 and 6 to be discribed. The cross-sectional line AA runs directly along the cavity 9 starting from the center of the hinge joint 6. The cross-sectional line BB is parallel to the hinge axis.

FIG. 5 shows a first cross section of the arrangement FIG. 4 , in particular the cross-sectional line AA. It is shown the glass element 1, the first plate-shaped part 2, the second plate-shaped part 3, the adapter element 5, the web 7, the cavity 9 and the hinge joint 6. Preferably, the surfaces of the two Parts 2 and 3 parallel to each other, flush and flush with the edge to the glass element. 1

FIG. 6 shows a second cross section of the arrangement FIG. 4 , in particular the cross-sectional line BB. It shows the glass element 1, the adapter element 5, the first and second plate-shaped part 2 and 3, the web 7 of the hinge joint 6, the cavity 9, the screws 4 and fastening claws 11 of the second plate-shaped part 3. The fastening claws 11 are respectively on the Side of the screw lying opposite the other screw. Preferably, the fastening claws extend perpendicularly from the plate-shaped part 3 and contact the screws on the side and at the point between the screw and the first plate-shaped part 2. As in FIGS. 5 and 6 can be seen, the web 7 is thinner than the extension of the first plate-shaped part. 2

FIG. 7 shows nine different arrangements in plan view, wherein the hinges have different shapes. All arrangements are symmetrical both along the hinge axis, which is shown as a dashed line in each arrangement, and perpendicular to the hinge axis, equivalent to the cross-sectional line AA. According to the plate-shaped parts and the indentation or notch is formed in the glass element. Preferably, all plate-shaped parts are initially formed perpendicular to the edge of the glass element. This gives better fixation and stabilization of the hinge in the glass element.

The arrangement A corresponds to the arrangement of FIG. 1 , where the hinge is rectangular with rounded corners.

The arrangement B is oval shaped, wherein the plate-shaped parts 2 and 3 each comprise a vertical section from the edge into the respective glass element.
