Bei längsaxial fördernden Transporttrommeln werden die Produkte im Wesentlichen in Längsrichtung der Produkte abgefördert und in einem Übergabepunkt von einer queraxial abfördernden Transporttrommel übernommen. Eine längsaxial abfördernde Transporttrommel ist z.B. zur Übernahme der strangförmig zugeführten Produkte vorgesehen, welche in einem vorangegangenen Arbeitsschritt auf eine vorbestimmte Länge geschnitten sind. Eine solche längsaxial fördernde Transporttrommel wird aufgrund der Förderbewegung und der Anordnung der Hebelarme auch als "Spinne" bezeichnet. Die Führung bildet neben der Vorgabe der Sollposition der Wechselmulden außerdem eine Verdrehsicherung der Wechselmulden während des Betriebes der Transporttrommel. Da zum Umrüsten der Transporttrommel aufgrund der erfindungsgemäßen Lösung nur noch die Wechselmulden getauscht werden müssen, entfällt die kosten- und zeitintensive Demontage der Hebelarme insbesondere in dem Bereich der konstruktiv aufwendigen Anbindung an die Transporttrommel.
