Description

Wärmetauscher mit formschlüssig festgelegtem  Heat exchangers with positively fixed
Sammlerkasten  collector's box
The invention relates to a heat exchanger with a form-fitting fixed collector box according to the preamble of claim 1.
From the practice of building heat exchangers, for example coolant radiators for a motor vehicle, it is known to fix collector boxes in a form-fitting manner at a bottom of a soldered block of pipes and ribs, for example by means of corrugated-slot flange. In this case, a u O-ring seal between the collector box and the bottom is inserted, wherein the bottom is formed as a formed sheet metal part with punched passages.
It is the object of the invention to provide a heat exchanger with a form-fitting fixed collector box, which is easily adaptable to different sizes.
This object is achieved according to the invention for a heat exchanger mentioned above with the characterizing features of claim 1. As a result of the at least partial formation of the floor as an extruded profile part, a simple change can be made, for example, by a number of flat tubes, without the need for elaborate molding tools, such as those required for trays made of sheet metal. The formation of a peripheral holding structure is particularly easily possible by suitable shaping of the extruded profile part, for example by an area correspondingly thin for the purpose of a bend.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the holding structure comprises a plurality of retaining troughs which rise on the edge above the ground. The crenellated design ensures a simple bending and a uniformly distributed holding force on the collector box. In addition, this shaping can be achieved by simple machining measures such as partial sawing or else complete sawing of an extruded profile.
In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the base comprises a plurality of segments each formed as extruded profile part, wherein the segments and the flat tubes are alternately stacked on each other. Such a design of the floor as a package system allows in a simple way the construction of the floors of standardized common parts, which is particularly advantageous for small batches. In addition, depending on the requirements, a contact surface between the flat tube end and the side surface of the base segments can be designed to be particularly large and thus mechanically strong and leakproof.
In an alternative or supplementary embodiment, the portion of the bottom has a plurality of passages for respectively receiving the flat tubes. Such passages can be introduced by punching, milling, sawing or other suitable means in a base of an extruded profile part.
The flat tubes are generally advantageously designed as extruded profile parts, but depending on the requirements, they can also be formed as folded sheet metal parts. In an alternative embodiment, the flat tubes are each composed of several components, in particular rods and cover plates, assembled ("bar-and-plate" flat tubes).
In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the flat tubes in a narrow-side edge region have a solid cross section, wherein the cross section forms part of a sealing surface. This is especially in a training of the floor of several separate segments (package system) against a simple and effective sealing of the collector box against the ground. In a preferred detailed design, the cross section in a depth direction has a diameter of between approximately 1 mm and approximately 5 mm, in particular between approximately 2 mm and approximately 4 mm. This ensures a sufficient sealing surface.
Generally, the flat tubes preferably have a narrow diameter between about 1.5 mm and about 10 mm. In particular, the heat exchanger may be a coolant radiator or an intercooler of an internal combustion engine, with a charge intercooler regularly opening slightly wider tubes, e.g. between 4 mm and 10 mm, and a coolant cooler regularly includes slightly narrower tubes between about 1, 5 mm and about 4 mm.
In a particularly preferred detailed design of the invention, a fixedly applied seal is provided between the collector box and the bottom. Such seals are also referred to as "Formed In Place Gaskets" (FIPG), which may be a paste-like, completely or partially curing sealant which is preferably applied automatically by means of a robotic arm Profile as ground against, as can be dispensed with a circumferential sealing groove for insertion of an O-ring seal. In general terms, an embodiment according to the invention may comprise a lateral end plate parallel to the stack of flat tubes, wherein the end plate likewise has a holding structure for the form-fitting retention of the collector box. Thus, the collector box can be kept circumferentially, namely the longitudinal side by the edge-side support structure of the soil and narrow side by the support structures of the end plates.
Further advantages and features of the invention will become apparent from the embodiments described below and from the dependent claims.
Hereinafter, several embodiments of the invention will be described and explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

The heat exchanger shown in Fig. 1 of a first embodiment is designed as a coolant radiator for the internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle.
The heat exchanger comprises a plurality of flat tubes 1 stacked in a width direction of the heat exchanger, between each of which a layer of ribs 2 is arranged. The flat tubes 1 are received with their end portions in each case in a bottom 3 of the heat exchanger, each received in a bottom 3 of the heat exchanger, wherein the bottom 3 and a seal 4 sealingly arranged on the collector box 5 together form a collector of the heat exchanger. The collector box 5 in the present case has a connection 5a for the supply or discharge of a fluid. At the opposite end of the heat exchanger, not shown, a second bottom and a second header box are arranged in the same construction. The collector boxes can be made of plastic or metal depending on requirements.
The base 3 is presently not listed as a one-piece component, but is formed from a plurality of separate sections or segments 3a, 3b. The segments 3a, 3b are alternately stacked alternately in alternation with the flat tubes in the manner of a package construction, so that side surfaces of the segments 3a, 3b are each soldered in a planar manner to the end regions of the broad sides of the flat tubes 1.
All of the segments 3a, 3b are sections of extruded profile parts, which may be reworked if necessary. Segments of a first type 3a are each arranged between two flat tubes, wherein a total of two segments of a second type 3b are arranged on the end side of the stack. All of the segments 3a, 3b have at one in the depth direction and air flow direction front and rear end each one above the plane of the bottom 3 towering holding tine 6. The Haltezin- NEN 6 are formed sufficiently thin to after placing the collector box 5 for positive fit holder to be bent. The bent retaining tongues (not shown) are then clamped or crimped over an edge-side collar 5b of the collector box 5, so that the collector box is fixed in a form-fitting manner. The pinnacles 6 of the segments 3 a, 3 b thus form a total of an edge-holding structure of the bottom 3.
The segments 3a, 3b differ from each other only in that the middle segments 3b have a shoulder 7 spaced from the pinnacles 6, so that the edge of the collector box 5 is supported inwardly. The terminal segments 3b do not have these paragraphs 7, since they would be the circulation of Sammlerkastenrandes in the way. Depending on the rigidity of the collector box 5 can be dispensed paragraphs 7. The terminal segments 3b can also be produced by reworking the middle segments 3a, so that overall only one type of extruded profile or extruded profile is required, from which the segments 3 are sawed off. The peripheral gasket 4 is not formed as a prefabricated O-ring gasket, but as a fixed-molded gasket (FIPG) Due to the stacked construction of the bottom 3, parts of the tops of the flat tubes 1 form parts the surface overlaid by the gasket 4. In order to form a sufficient sealing surface, the flat tubes 1 have a region of solid cross-section 1 a which has a width b of about 3 mm in the depth direction of the heat exchanger, the thickness d of the flat tubes in their narrow direction is about 2 mm.
The flat tubes are each formed as extruded profiles or extruded profiles. In the present case, they are designed as multi-chamber tubes with webs between adjacent passages. Suitably, the broad sides of the flat tubes 1 are solder-plated, so that both a soldering with the ribs 2 and with the segments 3 a, 3 b of the bottom 3 can be done in a brazing furnace. Alternative or supplementary solder cladding of the individual components is also conceivable. The heat exchanger is closed in the stacking direction at the end by two end plates 8, which also have bendable holding structures 8a with crenels 6 'at their ends for positive retention of the collector box 5. Depending on the design and depth of the heat exchanger, the holding structures 8a may also be formed as a continuous tab or it may be dispensed with a narrow-side determination of Sammlerkastens. In a second embodiment of the invention (not shown), unlike the first exemplary embodiment, the base 3 is not produced in packaged fashion, but essentially in one piece or as a single bottom section. For this purpose, with otherwise the same shape connecting webs between the segments 3 are left or instead of a complete sawing formed only passages for the flat tubes. These passages can be formed by punching, milling, sawing or other processing measures.
