Claims (20)
- Roller tappet (1), in particular for a highpressure fuel pump or for a valve drive of in each case an internal combustion engine with quality or quantity regulation, having a housing (2) which has intrinsic therein, at its drive-input-side face (3), a slidingly mounted roller (4) for a cam or eccentric to run against, wherein the housing (2) has a bridge piece (5) between its drive-output-side face (6) and the roller (4), which bridge piece (5) has, on its first face side (7) facing toward the drive-output-side face (6) of the housing (2), an abutment (8) for a tappet follower part, characterized in that, in a depression (9) of a drive-input-side further face side (10) of the bridge piece (5), there is seated a shell piece (11), such as a half shell or onethird shell, in which the roller (4) runs directly in slidingly mounted fashion and which has been cut off from a rolling ring provided as a finished, fine-machined standard component.
- Roller tappet according to Claim 1, characterized in that, on an inner surface (12) of the housing (2) at the drive-input-side face (3), there are arranged two diametrically opposite flattened portions (13) on which the roller (4) runs by way of its face surfaces (14).
- Roller tappet according to Claim 2, characterized in that the flattened portions (13) are provided in the form of "impressions" proceeding from the outer surface (21) of the housing (2).
- Roller tappet according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that, in the section of the drive-input-side face (3) of the housing (2), there are formed captive retention regions (15) which engage over the roller (4) in sections.
- Roller tappet according to Claim 4 where referred back to Claim 2 or 3, characterized in that the captive retention regions (15) are provided in the form of projections (16) which extend in integral form from the flattened portions (13).
- Roller tappet according to Claim 5, characterized in that, in the case of each flattened portion (13), the projections (16) are formed from two stud-like integrally moulded portions (17) which point in the axial direction of the roller (4) and under which the roller (4) is held (figures 1, 2).
- Roller tappet according to Claim 5, characterized in that, in the case of each flattened portion (13), the projections (16) are formed by a roofshaped region (18) of a shell-like depression (19) in the flattened portion (13) (figures 3, 4).
- Roller tappet according to Claim 4, characterized in that the captive retention regions (15) are provided in the form of at least two mutually opposite finger-like extensions (20) which extend from the inner surface (12) of the housing (2) at the drive-input-side face (3) thereof or directly from the latter and which run orthogonally with respect to the axial line of the roller (4) (figures 5, 6).
- Roller tappet according to Claim 4 where referred back to Claim 1, characterized in that, in the outer surface (21) of the housing (2) at the drive-input-side face (3) thereof, for each face surface (14) of the roller (4), there are implemented two circumferentially spaced-apart, notch-like depressions (25) for forming internal roof segments (26) for the captive retention regions (15), under which roof segments (26) the roller (4) is held (figures 7 and 8).
- Roller tappet according to Claim 9, characterized in that the roller (4), by way of its face surfaces (14), is laterally guided on inner surface sections (27), which are left at least substantially cylindrical (non-flattened), of the housing (2) between the roof segments (26).
- Roller tappet according to Claim 1, characterized in that the bridge piece (5) is formed as a separate sheet steel part.
- Roller tappet according to Claim 1 or 11, characterized in that the abutment (8) for the tappet follower part in the bridge piece (5) is implemented as an embossment, or locally pushedthrough material portion, proceeding from the further face side (10) of said bridge piece.
- Roller tappet according to Claim 1, characterized in that a rotation prevention means (22) projects beyond an outer surface (21) of the housing (2).
- Roller tappet according to Claim 13, characterized in that, for the implementation of the rotation prevention means (22), an integral, lug-like extension (23) of the bridge piece (5) projects through a respective opening (24) of the housing.
- Roller tappet according to Claim 2, characterized in that the flattened portions (13) are of closed design.
- Roller tappet according to Claim 2, characterized in that the flattened portions (13) are provided with in each case one opening such as a bore.
- Roller tappet according to Claim 1, characterized in that the housing (2) is composed of sheet steel.
- Roller tappet according to Claim 1, characterized in that the respective shell piece (11) is obtained from the rolling ring by means of a separation process a) such as cracking or b) such as grinding/milling/sawing.
- Roller tappet according to Claim 1, characterized in that the roller (4) is in the form of either a solid cylinder or a ring.
- Roller tappet according to Claim 1, characterized in that either a) an outer surface (28) of the shell piece (11) is spherical or formed with an end profiling or in that b) the roller (4) is spherical or formed with an end profiling or in that c) the outer surface (28) of the shell piece (11) is spherical or formed with an end profiling and at the same time the roller (4) is spherical or formed with an end profiling.
