Brand- oder Rauchschutzvorhang (10) zum Verschließen einer Gebäudeöffnung (12), mit einem flexiblen Brandschutzelement (14), das ein Brandschutztextil (16) umfasst, und einer das Brandschutzelement (14) abschließenden Abschlussleiste (18), wobei das Brandschutzelement (14) benachbart zur Abschlussleiste (18) eine sich entlang der Abschlussleiste (18) erstreckende Elastizitätszone (30) aufweist, in der eine Innerzonen-Elastizität (ε30) des Brandschutzelements (14) größer ist als eine Außerzonen-Elastizität (ε31) außerhalb der Elastizitätszone (30).
