- the handle follower 16 activates the oscillating lever 18 which commands the retraction of the latch 10.
- the first and second drawing pin 28 and 29 are arranged specularly to the third and fourth drawing pin 30 and 38 with respect to the halfway plane 25 of the case 2.
- the bolt 8 is activatable with a turn of a key in the rotor of the cylinder 75 following which the cam 76 exerts, on the bolt 8, a translation force, at the same time exerting, on the oscillating sector 54, a rotation force necessary for displacing it from the angular reference position thereof in order for it to assume a blocking position of the retraction of the bolt 8 starting from a blocking position of the extraction of the bolt 8 or vice versa in order for it to assume a blocking position of the extraction of the bolt 8 starting from a blocking position of the retraction of the bolt 8.
- the bolt 8 when extracted from the case 2, is blocked in position by effect of the engaging of the rear wall of the tooth 73 against the front wall of the stop 74 and vice versa, when retracted into the case 2, it is blocked in position by effect of the engagement of the front wall of the tooth 73 against the rear wall of the stop 74.
- the spring arm 66 is maintained resting on the relative rest wall 71 while the other spring arm 68 flexes and detaches from the relative rest wall 72 when it is intercepted by the corresponding stop tooth 69.
- the flexed spring arm 68 relaxes and goes to rest against the corresponding rest wall 72 and the sector 54 returns to the angular reference position thereof.
- the activating of the latch 10 is achieved by means of a further half-rotation of the key in the cylinder 75 rotor following which the cam 76 operates on the latch 10 in the way that has already been described herein above.
- the handle can be used to command the blocking rods 11 and 12 and the latch 10, while the cylinder 75 can be used to command the bolt 8 and the latch 10. and 12 are in the protracted closing position.
- the pin defining the axis 60 of the bolt 8 inserts in a recess of the rod 11, preventing retraction thereof (thus also the retraction of the rod 12) when subjected to a force tending to retract it in the direction of the axis 27.
- the spring 44 therefore, guarantees that the rods 11 and 12 are maintained reversibly in the closing and opening position reached at end run while the bolt 8 extension automatically blocks the rods 11, 12 irreversibly.
- the door lock of the present invention enables changing the side the door opens with a small number of constitutive elements of the activating mechanism of the blocking rods, and is particularly simple, secure, reliable, long-lasting and relatively inexpensive.

organ 21 comprises asmall plate 35 superposed on therods rods fourth drawing pin 38 are located (which drawingpin 38 is inactive in the specific embodiment illustrated), apin 36 for receiving motion from acam 37 of thesecond follower 20. - The first oscillating
organ 17 has a like structure and comprises a small plate 77 superposed on therods rods second drawing pin pin 39 for receiving movement from acam 40 of thesecond follower 16. - The first
oscillating lever 18 exhibits a hinge axis to the case 2 that is common to thehinge axis 23 of the first oscillatingorgan 17, and likewise the secondoscillating lever 22 exhibits a hinge axis to the case 2 that is common to thehinge axis 24 of the second oscillatingorgan 21. - More precisely, the
hinge axis 23 lies in ahorizontal plane 78 containing the oscillating axis of thefirst handle follower 16, just as thehinge axis 24 lies in ahorizontal plane 79 containing the oscillating axis of thesecond handle follower 20. - At least one from between the first oscillating
organ 17 and the second oscillatingorgan 21, for example, though not necessarily, the second oscillatingorgan 21, oscillates in contrast to and by action of an elastic linear actuator 41 suitable for automatically releasably blocking the blocked position of the door assumed by therods - The linear actuator 41 comprises a piston 42 that is slidable along a
guide 43 in contrast to and by action of aspring 44. - The piston head 42 is hinged at 45 to the second oscillating
organ 21. - The
guide 43 has arounded end 80 rested against an internal angle of said case 2 and in more detail against thecorner 46 between thefront demarcation wall 3 and thelower demarcation wall 6. - The
corner 46 acts as an oscillating fulcrum for the piston 42 which can assume a variable line of action from one side to the other with respect to the radial direction to thehinge axis 24 in order to invert the rotation momentum on the second oscillatingorgan 21. - The
first follower 16 oscillates in contrast to and by action of one or more elastic reset elements suitable for returning it into a neutral position both after from the neutral position it is rotated in a direction for extraction of therods rods latch 10. - The elastic elements comprise two helix springs 47 and 48, perpendicular to one another, the first orientated with a horizontal axis parallel to the
lower demarcation wall 6 and another orientated with a vertical axis parallel to the rear demarcation wall 4. - The two helix springs 47 and 48 exhibit a first end resting on a
common block 49 located at the corner between the upper demarcation wall 5 and the rear demarcation wall 4, and a second end engageable with a respective activatingcam first follower 16. - The case 2 exhibits a first end run (not illustrated) in which the second end of the
spring 47 is engageable at the neutral position of thefirst follower 16 and asecond end run 53 in which the second end of thesecond spring 48 is engageable at the neutral position of thefirst follower 16. - The two springs 47 and 48 are selectively activatable by the
respective cam first handle follower 16 starting from the neutral position thereof. - Likewise the
second follower 20 oscillates in contrast to and by action of one or more elastic reset elements suitable for returning it into a neutral position both after from the neutral position it is rotated in a direction for extraction of therods rods latch 10. - The elastic elements are entirely alike the ones described herein above with reference to the
first handle follower 16 and for this reason they will not be further described. - A
sector 54 that is oscillatable to block thebolt 8 is pivoted to thebolt 8, which is incorporated in thelatch 10. - A
further lever 55, oscillatable for retraction of thelatch 10, is further pivoted to thebolt 8. - The
lever 55 exhibits a first tab 56 destined to take movement from the cam 76 of thefirst cylinder 75, asecond tab 57 destined to take movement from the cam of the second cylinder, afirst tooth 58 for moving theoperative latch 10 on afirst abutment 61 of thelatch 10 when the first tab 56 is activated by the cam of the first cylinder, and asecond tooth 59 for moving theoperative latch 10 onto a second abutment 62 of thelatch 10 when thesecond tab 57 is activated by the cam of the second cylinder. - The oscillating
lever 55 and the blockingsector 54 exhibit acommon hinge axis 60 to thebolt 8. - The blocking
sector 54 exhibits a first zone 63 for taking the oscillating movement in a direction from the cam 76 of thefirst cylinder 75 and asecond zone 64 for taking the oscillating movement in an opposite direction from the cam of the second cylinder, and oscillates in contrast to and by action of an automatic-return torsion spring 65 to a reference angular position. - The torsion spring 65 exhibits a V-shaped configuration with a
first spring arm 66 subjected to flexion by a first stop tooth 67 present on thebolt 8 during the oscillation in a direction of the blockingsector 54, and asecond spring arm 68 subjected to flexion by asecond stop tooth 69 present on thebolt 8 during the oscillation in the opposite direction of the blockingsector 54. - The torsion spring 65 is housed in a lowering 70 of the
bolt 8 exhibiting afirst rest wall 71 for thefirst spring arm 66 and asecond rest wall 72 for thesecond spring arm 68. - The
arms sector 54 and selectively out of the reference corner position of the blockingsector 54, inrespective drawing tabs sector 54. - The
sector 54 further exhibits atooth 73 which, when thesector 54 assumes the reference corner position, is engageable in two different operating positions against astop 74 exhibited by alateral demarcation wall 7 of the case 2. - The functioning of the lock is described by way of example with reference to the door with a left opening, as illustrated, wherein a handle is applied to the
first handle follower 16 and acylinder 75 of the lock is applied to thefirst hole 15, the functioning of the lock being alike for right-opening doors wherein a handle is applied to thesecond handle follower 20 and a cylinder of the lock is applied to thesecond hole 19. - The kinematic chain comprising the
rods oscillating organ - The user activates the handle upwards and consequently the
handle follower 16 rotates starting from the initial neutral position; thecam 40 of thehandle follower 16 activates, via the holdingpin 39, theoscillating organ 17 thedrawing pin 28 of which activates therod 11. - Via the
drawing pin 29, theoscillating organ 17 in turn activates therod 12 in a synchronised translation in an opposite direction to therod 11. - When the
rod 11 translates it transmits movement to theoscillating organ 21 which performs an equal rotation but in the opposite direction with respect to theoscillating organ 17. - The rods I 1 and 12 protract towards the outside of the case 2 up to reaching the door-blocking position.
- Initially the line of action of the linear actuator 41 is orientated in such a way as to generate a rotation momentum which opposes the rotation of the
oscillating organ 21 in the direction of extraction of therods - The
oscillating organ 21, when oscillating, also causes the oscillation of the piston 42, the line of action of which displaces from one side to the other with respect to the radial direction to thehinge axis 24 up to determining the inversion of the rotation momentum exertable on theoscillating organ 21. - In this new situation the rotation momentum exertable on the
oscillating organ 21 opposes the rotation thereof in the direction of retraction of therods handle follower 16 returns automatically into its neutral position by effect of thespring 48. - To unblock and retract the
rods handle follower 16, starting from its neutral position, rotates in the opposite direction to the preceding description and via thecam 40 thereof activates theoscillating organ 17, causing the kinematic chain to perform a contrary movement to the one described above. - Moreover, during this rotation the
handle follower 16 activates theoscillating lever 18 which commands the retraction of thelatch 10. - When the user releases the handle the
handle follower 16 is brought automatically into the neutral position thereof by effect of thespring 47, while the rods I 1 and 12 are maintained stably in the position reached of unblocking the door. - It should be noted that in any position assumed by the
oscillating organs second drawing pin fourth drawing pin 30 and 38 with respect to thehalfway plane 25 of the case 2. - The
bolt 8 is activatable with a turn of a key in the rotor of thecylinder 75 following which the cam 76 exerts, on thebolt 8, a translation force, at the same time exerting, on theoscillating sector 54, a rotation force necessary for displacing it from the angular reference position thereof in order for it to assume a blocking position of the retraction of thebolt 8 starting from a blocking position of the extraction of thebolt 8 or vice versa in order for it to assume a blocking position of the extraction of thebolt 8 starting from a blocking position of the retraction of thebolt 8. - In practice the
bolt 8, when extracted from the case 2, is blocked in position by effect of the engaging of the rear wall of thetooth 73 against the front wall of thestop 74 and vice versa, when retracted into the case 2, it is blocked in position by effect of the engagement of the front wall of thetooth 73 against the rear wall of thestop 74. - The oscillation of the
sector 54 from the angular reference position thereof when thebolt 8 is translated enables thetooth 73 to pass over thestop 74 and achieve the blocking position of the extraction or retraction of thebolt 8. - In the illustrated case, during oscillation of the
sector 54 thespring arm 66 is maintained resting on therelative rest wall 71 while theother spring arm 68 flexes and detaches from therelative rest wall 72 when it is intercepted by thecorresponding stop tooth 69. When the rotation force exerted by the cam 76 of thecylinder rotor 75 ceases, the flexedspring arm 68 relaxes and goes to rest against the correspondingrest wall 72 and thesector 54 returns to the angular reference position thereof. - The activating of the
latch 10 is achieved by means of a further half-rotation of the key in thecylinder 75 rotor following which the cam 76 operates on thelatch 10 in the way that has already been described herein above. - In substance, the handle can be used to command the blocking
rods latch 10, while thecylinder 75 can be used to command thebolt 8 and thelatch 10. and 12 are in the protracted closing position. The pin defining theaxis 60 of thebolt 8 inserts in a recess of therod 11, preventing retraction thereof (thus also the retraction of the rod 12) when subjected to a force tending to retract it in the direction of the axis 27. - The
spring 44, therefore, guarantees that therods bolt 8 extension automatically blocks therods - The door lock of the present invention enables changing the side the door opens with a small number of constitutive elements of the activating mechanism of the blocking rods, and is particularly simple, secure, reliable, long-lasting and relatively inexpensive.
- The door lock thus conceived is susceptible to numerous modifications and variants, all falling within the scope of the inventive concept, as defined by the appended claims.
- In practice the materials used, as well as the dimensions, can be any according to needs and the state of the art.
