Description

  • Mounting set for mounting a finishing section at an angle onto a wall section or a wall, comprising
    • a wall section for mounting onto a wall or a wall;
    • a finishing section;
    • and brackets which can be mounted onto the wall section or the wall and onto which the finishing section can be mounted for mounting the finishing section onto the wall section or the wall.
  • Relevant mounting sets are known from, e.g. DE 3 207 535 A1 , DE 3 207 399 A1 and EP 0 002 220 A1 .
  • After mounting the finishing section onto the wall section or the wall, said sections are at an angle with respect to one another. This means that the plane in which the finishing section essentially extends, extends at this angle with respect to the plane in which the wall section or the wall essentially extends.
  • A wall section of this type and a finishing section of this type can, for example, form part of a screen casing for a screen roller for a terrace covering which can be covered by means of a screen which can be rolled up onto and unrolled from said screen roller. Equally, these may, for example, form part of a lighting fixture or of a cupboard or of a heating installation, etc. Below, the invention will be described primarily with reference to the specific use with a terrace covering. However, it will immediately be clear to those skilled in the art that the invention can, mutatis mutandis, be used with a plurality of other devices without additional problems, such as, for example, a lighting fixture or a heating installation, etc.
  • Usually, an external wall serves as the wall to which the wall section of a screen casing of a terrace covering is fitted. This wall section has to be mounted very evenly onto this external wall in this case, so that the finishing section can then be mounted at an angle with respect to this wall section, with both sections adjoining one another as closely as possible along their entire length. In practice, such an external wall is rarely completely flat, as a result of which the process of mounting or aligning this wall section very evenly on an external wall is often regarded as being too time-consuming. However, in those cases where such a wall section is just simply screwed onto this wall, this finishing section will be mounted onto this wall anything but evenly, as a result of which it becomes very difficult to mount the finishing section onto this wall section using brackets which, on the one hand, can be mounted onto the wall section or the wall and onto which, on the other hand, the finishing section can be mounted.
  • Also in those cases where brackets are directly mounted onto such an external wall as a wall without the use of such a wall section, it is very difficult to mount the finishing section onto these brackets. If such an external wall as a wall is not even, the brackets have to be aligned with respect to one another in practice.
  • It is the object of the present invention to provide a mounting set by means of which a finishing section can be mounted in a simple manner onto a wall section or a wall at an angle using such brackets, without the wall section to this end having to be mounted onto the wall very evenly or without the wall itself having to be very even, or without the brackets which are mounted directly onto the wall having to be aligned with respect to one another.
  • This object of the invention is achieved by providing a mounting set for mounting a finishing section at an angle onto a wall section or a wall, comprising a wall section for mounting onto a wall or a wall, a finishing section and brackets which can be mounted onto the wall section or the wall and onto which the finishing section can be mounted for mounting the finishing section onto the wall section or the wall, with said mounting set furthermore comprising at least one positioning element which can be mounted onto a bracket in such a manner that, after the positioning element has been mounted onto the bracket, said positioning element is initially displaceable in a direction which, viewed after the bracket has been mounted onto the wall section or the wall, extends at virtually said angle with respect to the plane in which the wall section or the wall substantially extends, in which the mounting set comprises mounting means for mounting the finishing section onto said positioning element, in which the finishing section or the positioning element comprises at least one positioning set consisting of two upright position locating elements which mutually diverge further with respect to the plane in which the positioning element substantially extends, and in which the positioning element or the finishing section, respectively, comprises a positioning rib which can be fitted between the position locating elements of the positioning set in such a manner that, after the positioning element has been mounted onto the bracket, when mounting the finishing section to the positioning element, upon fitting said positioning rib between said position locating elements, a position of the positioning element with respect to the bracket is determined in which the finishing section is mounted onto or can be mounted onto the wall section or the wall.
  • By means of such a positioning element, it is possible to compensate for a slight tolerance at any location where the finishing section is to be mounted onto the bracket, by moving the positioning element with respect to the bracket and by mounting the finishing section onto this positioning element instead of directly onto the bracket itself. The wall section then no longer has to be mounted onto the wall very evenly, as small deviations from an even position of the wall section can be compensated for by means of such positioning elements. In cases where the brackets are mounted directly onto a wall without using a wall section, they no longer have to be aligned with respect to one another. In cases where a finishing section can be mounted sufficiently securely onto the wall section or the wall using two brackets, the use of one such positioning element suffices. However, using one positioning element for each bracket will result in even more tolerance to enable the finishing section to adjoin the wall section or the wall as closely as possible along its entire length. With relatively long wall sections and finishing sections, more than two brackets will be required, in which case at least one bracket will be provided with a positioning element. Preferably, one such positioning element is provided for each bracket again.
  • In this case, the positioning element preferably comprises first click-fit elements and the finishing section preferably comprises second click-fit elements, with the first click-fit elements and the second click-fit elements being arranged in such a manner that when the positioning rib is fitted between the position locating elements, the first and the second click-fit elements form a click connection. Such a click connection is a very simple connection with regard to installation.
  • In a specific embodiment of a mounting set according to the present invention, the positioning rib of the finishing section for this purpose comprises a thickening which forms part of the first and the second click-fit elements, respectively, and the positioning element comprises a fitting cavity which is delimited by means of at least one elastically deformable leg which forms part of the second and the first click-fit elements, respectively, in which it is possible to fit the thickening of the positioning rib in the fitting cavity by deforming this elastically deformable leg, in which the elastically deformable leg moves back into its original position at least partly after the thickening of the positioning rib has been fitted in said fitting cavity.
  • Still more specifically, the fitting cavity is delimited by means of a set of two elastically deformable legs which form part of the second and the first click-fit elements, respectively, in which the thickening of the positioning rib can be fitted in the fitting cavity by deforming said elastically deformable legs, in which the elastically deformable legs move back into their original position at least partly after the thickening of the positioning rib has been fitted in said fitting cavity.
  • In a preferred embodiment of a mounting set according to the present invention, the positioning element comprises two positioning sets of two upright position locating elements in which the first click-fit means or the second click-fit means of the positioning element are positioned between said positioning sets.
  • In a particular embodiment of a mounting set according to the present invention which comprises a wall section, the wall section comprises a groove which is partly delimited by a flange and the finishing section comprises a curved rib which can be fitted into said groove, hooked behind said flange.
  • In this case, the groove, the flange and the curved rib are preferably configured in such a manner that, after the curved rib in the groove has been hooked behind the flange, the finishing section can be hingedly moved with respect to the wall section, the finishing section being displaceable with respect to the wall section in a direction virtually at said angle with respect to the wall section.
  • In this way, it is possible for the finishing section to adjoin the wall section along its entire length, with the required tolerance at the edge being compensated for by said flange.
  • The bracket of a mounting set according to the invention furthermore preferably comprises a groove which is partly delimited on either side by flanges, it being possible to fit the positioning element in said groove in such a manner that the positioning element in said groove is displaceable in a direction virtually transversely to the direction in which the flanges substantially extend and in such a manner that the positioning element is always situated partly behind said flanges during sliding.
  • More specifically, the positioning element may comprise a substantially rectangular plate, in which the positioning rib or the position locating elements and the optional click-fit elements are upright elements with respect to said rectangular plate.
  • The substantially rectangular plate can then preferably be fitted in said groove in order to arrange the positioning element in said groove, in which said rectangular plate is partly situated behind the flanges.
  • The positioning element of such a mounting set furthermore preferably comprises an edge which is upright with respect to the rectangular plate and which extends next to the bracket after the rectangular plate has been fitted in the groove.
  • Such an upright edge may serve as a guide for the sliding movement of the positioning element and may ensure that the positioning element can only perform a translational movement with respect to the bracket which is guided by said edge, and no rotating movement which could possibly complicate mounting.
  • In order to render the positioning element initially displaceable with respect to the bracket, the positioning element may preferably comprise a slot, in which it is possible to attach said positioning element to the bracket by means of a screw in said slot, in such a manner that the positioning element is initially displaceable with respect to the bracket due to the fact that the screw is displaceable in said slot.
  • The optional wall section and/or the finishing section are preferably configured as an extruded aluminium section.
  • The positioning element is preferably made of plastic. This may, for example, be produced by means of injection-moulding. Obviously, such a positioning element can be produced from any other suitable material.
  • The object of the present invention is furthermore also achieved by providing a screen device, comprising a screen casing in which a screen roller can be fitted on which a screen can be rolled up and unrolled, comprising an above-described mounting set in which the finishing section and the optional wall section form part of the screen casing.
  • The present invention is now explained in more detail below by means of the following detailed description of a preferred mounting set according to the present invention. The sole purpose of this description is to give illustrative examples and to indicate further advantages and features of this mounting set and can therefore by no means be interpreted as a limitation of the area of application of the invention or of the patent rights defined in the claims.

    • Fig. 7 shows the positioning element from Fig. 6 in perspective, with its position locating elements and its click-fit elements being directed downwards;
    • Fig. 8 shows the finishing section of the mounting set from Fig. 1 in perspective, with its positioning rib facing upwards;
    • Fig. 9 shows a side view of an alternative arrangement and embodiment of the positioning rib, the position locating elements and the click-fit elements for a mounting set according to the present invention;
    • Fig. 10 shows a side view of a second alternative arrangement and embodiment of the positioning rib, the position locating elements and the click-fit elements for a mounting set according to the present invention;
    • Fig. 11 shows a side view of a mounting set according to the invention which forms part of a heating module;
    • Fig. 12 shows a side view of a mounting set according to the invention which forms part of a lighting module.
  • The illustrated mounting set (1) from Figs. 1 to 8 comprises a wall section (2) and a finishing section (3) which form part of a screen casing for a screen roller for a terrace covering which can be covered by means of a screen which can be rolled up onto and unrolled from said screen roller. Figs. 11 and 12 show similar mounting sets (1) which form part of a heating module (Fig. 11) and a lighting module (Fig. 12), respectively. The heating module comprises a heating plate (19). In this case, the finishing section (3) makes easy access possible to the space (21) which accommodates the cables for said heating plate (19). The lighting module comprises LED strips (20) for lighting. In this case as well, the finishing section (3) makes easy access possible to the space (21) which accommodates the cables for the LED strips and the transformer.
  • With such a terrace covering, heating module or lighting module, etc., the wall section (2) is attached to a wall. Said wall is usually an external wall of a building. The finishing section (3) is mounted on this wall section (2) at virtually right angles by means of brackets (4) and positioning elements (5), as is illustrated in Figs. 1, 11 and 12. Both the wall section (2) and the finishing section (3) are configured as extruded aluminium sections.
  • The brackets (4) are also configured as extruded aluminium sections, but their length is much shorter than the length of the wall section (2) and the finishing section (3), so that several brackets (4) are attached thereto at a certain distance from one another and spread over the length of these sections (2, 3) in order to attach these sections (2, 3) to one another. The brackets (4) comprise a wall part (16) and a finishing part (17) which extend at a virtually straight angle to one another, as can be seen in Figs. 2 to 5. As can be seen in Figs. 1, 11 and 12, the brackets (4) are attached to the wall section (2) in a known manner by means of this wall part (16) using one or more screws (18) which are not fitted in the wall. The finishing section (3) is attached to the finishing part (17) of the brackets (4) by means of the positioning elements (5).
  • A groove (14) is provided in the finishing part (17) of each bracket (4) and extends along the length of the bracket (4), as can be seen in Figs. 2 to 5. This groove (14) is partly delimited by flanges (15) on either side.
  • Each positioning element (5) comprises a substantially rectangular plate and position locating elements (6) and click-fit elements (8) which are elements which are upright with respect to this substantially rectangular plate, as can be seen in Fig. 6.
  • The positioning element (5) is fitted in the groove (14) of the corresponding bracket (4) by means of this rectangular plate, in such a manner that this rectangular plate extends partly behind said flanges (15) and in such a manner that the positioning element (5) is initially displaceable in this groove (14) in a direction essentially transversely to the direction in which the flanges (15) substantially extend. This sliding movement is, on the one hand, guided by an edge (13) of the positioning element (5) which is upright with respect to the rectangular plate and which extends next to, but virtually against the bracket (4) after the rectangular plate has been fitted in the groove (14). On the other side, this sliding movement is guided by slots (11) which are provided in the positioning element (5). The positioning element (5) is attached to the bracket (4) by means of screws (12), said screws (12) being provided in said slots (11) so as to be displaceable.
  • The position locating elements (6) of the positioning element (5) of the embodiments as illustrated in Figs. 1 to 8, 11 and 12 are divided into two positioning sets of two upright position locating elements (6) which mutually diverge further with respect to the substantially rectangular plate. The click-fit elements (8) are positioned in between these positioning sets (6). These click-fit elements (8) comprise two elastically deformable legs (8) which delimit a fitting cavity.
  • The finishing section (3) comprises a positioning rib (7) which comprises a thickening at its end which can be positioned between the position locating elements (6) and which can be introduced into the fitting cavity of the click-fit elements (8) by deforming the elastically deformable legs (8), after which these elastically deformable legs (8) return to their original position.
  • The wall section (2) and the finishing section (3) comprise hook elements (9, 10) by means of which they can be interhooked on the side on which they adjoin one another in the fitted state. The wall section (2) comprises a groove which is partly delimited by a flange (9). The finishing section (3) comprises a curved rib (10) which can be fitted in said groove of the wall section (2), hooked behind said flange (9). Once the curved rib (10) has been hooked into this groove, behind the flange (9), the finishing section (3) can initially be hingedly displaced (before it is attached to the positioning elements) with respect to the wall section (2). In this case, the finishing section (3) is also displaceable in a direction virtually at said angle with respect to the wall section (2).
  • The various parts of the mounting set (1) are designed in such a manner that when the brackets (4) are attached to the wall section (2), when the positioning elements (5) are fitted in the corresponding brackets (4) and when the curved rib (10) of the finishing section (3) is hooked into the groove of the wall section (3) behind the flange (9) and then hingedly moved towards the brackets (4), the positioning rib (7) of the finishing section (3) engages between the position locating elements (6) and guides any sliding movement of the positioning elements (5). In this case, the positioning elements (5) are positioned in such a manner that, at the end of the movement of the finishing section (3) towards the brackets (4), the positioning rib (7) is click-fitted in the fitting cavities between the elastically deformable legs (8) of the positioning elements (5).
  • In the mounting sets (1) as illustrated in Figs. 1 to 8, 11 and 12, the position locating elements (6) and the elastically deformable legs (8) which delimit a fitting cavity are on the positioning element (5), while the positioning rib (7) which also serves as click-fit element is provided on the finishing section (3). However, there are many conceivable alternative arrangements and embodiments for said position locating elements (6), positioning rib (7) and click-fit elements (7, 8), only some of which will be discussed below.
  • In a first alternative arrangement, the position locating elements (6) and the positioning rib (7) and the click-fit elements (7, 8) from the embodiment illustrated in Figs. 1 to 8, 11 and 12 swap positions between the positioning element (5) and the finishing section (3).
  • Figs. 9 and 10 illustrate some other alternative arrangements of the position locating elements (6), the positioning rib (7) and the click-fit elements (7, 8) of a mounting set according to the invention.
  • In Figs. 9 and 10, the click-fit elements (7, 8) are not positioned between the position locating elements (6). The position locating elements (6) may extend along the entire length of the finishing section (3). In Fig. 9, both the position locating elements (6) and the click-fit elements (7, 8) may extend along the entire length of the finishing section (3).
  • In the alternative embodiment from Fig. 9, the position locating elements (6) are designed as elastically deformable legs (8) which delimit a fitting cavity, into which the thickening of the positioning rib (7) which also serves as click-fit element can be fitted. Only the ends of these elastically deformable legs (8) mutually diverge further and assume the actual locating function of the position locating elements (6).
  • In the embodiment as illustrated in Fig. 10, the positioning rib (7) is split into two elastically deformable legs (7a, 7b) which will elastically deform when the thickening of the positioning rib (7) is fitted in the fitting cavity and which assume their original shape again after the thickening has been arranged in this fitting cavity.
  • With the illustrated alternative embodiments from Figs. 9 and 10, the positioning rib (7) can either form part of the finishing section or of the positioning element (5). Then, the position locating elements (6) (elastically deformable legs (8)) form part of either the positioning element or the finishing section, respectively.
