Description

LUNETTES A BRANCHES ARTICULEES ELASTIQUEMENT  ELASTICALLY ARTICULATED BRACELET GLASSES
The present invention relates to glasses of the type constituted by an optical or solar facade and two branches, each of which is connected to a frame or directly to the front, in the case of so-called pierced glasses, by means of a tenon and an associated elastic joint. This type of joint is, in a known manner, generally composed of a transverse axis disposed at the end of the post, opposite the branch, and on which a piston is attached to this branch and sliding freely in the latter by means of an elastic return member, according to a predetermined stroke, to an open or closed position.
This type of articulation provides a bistable effect of the branch, having the effect of maintaining it in the open or closed position, without oscillating freely from one to the other as is the case with a conventional articulation. This system also makes it possible to compensate for excessive opening of the branches, and thus to prevent them from breaking or plastic deformation. Nevertheless, a disadvantage encountered in this type of joint lies in the fact that a relatively large force must be exerted on the branches to move from the open position to the closed position, and vice versa, because the tipping point between one and the other of the positions is located between two support zones, of relatively large surfaces, constituting the plane of joint between the end of the tenon and the corresponding part of the branch, in one or the other positions.
In order to reduce the effort to be exerted on the branches, mentioned above, it was therefore sought, according to a first phase of the inventive step, to reduce the support zones, and therefore the tipping point constituting the bistable, while reducing the spring force.
But it has been necessary to compensate for this loss of strength in order to avoid oscillations of the branch when it arrives in the open position, and to secure it in this position.
In order to achieve these objectives, the invention relates to glasses of the type constituted by an optical or solar facade and two branches, each of which is connected to a frame or directly to the facade by means of a tenon and an associated elastic articulation, of the type comprising a transverse axis disposed at the end of the tenon, opposite the branch, and on which is articulated a piston which is fastened to the branch and slides freely in it, via an elastic return member, in a predetermined stroke to stable positions of opening or closing defined by the pin having two bearing zones substantially perpendicular to each other, constituting with the end the branch a closure plane at the closing and opening thereof, to define two corresponding stable positions, characterized in that said joint plane at the opening comprises additional assistance means, acting at the beyond a point of equilibrium or tilting of the branch situated between the two bearing zones defining the stable positions and contributing to reinforcing the stable position in opening, said means being constituted by at least one magnetic element integrated in the one or other of the support zones of the tenon or the branch forming the joint plane in opening, close to the axis of articulation. The invention also relates to the features which will emerge during the following description, which should be considered in isolation or in all their possible technical combinations.
This description given by way of nonlimiting example, will better understand how the invention can be made with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Figure 5 is a view of the joint, after total opening of the branch, in stable open position.
FIG. 6 is a view of the articulation, in overtravel position during opening.
FIG. 7 is a view of the articulation, after return to the stable position of opening of the branch, according to FIG.
The glasses 1 generally designated in the figures are of the type constituted by an optical or solar façade 2 and two branches 3, each of which is connected to a frame or directly to the front 2 by means of a pin 5 and an associated elastic joint 6.
The elastic articulation 6 is of the type comprising a transverse axis 7 disposed at the end of the post 5, opposite the branch 3, and on which is articulated a piston 8 secured to the branch 3 and sliding freely in the latter, via an elastic return member 9, in a predetermined path to stable opening positions "PSO" or closing "PSF".
These stable positions are defined by the pin 5 having two bearing zones 10, 11 substantially perpendicular to each other, constituting with the end 12 of the branch 3 a joint plane at the closure J1 and the opening J2 of the latter. ci, in order to define two corresponding stable positions, respectively "PSO", "PSF".
According to the invention, the joint plane J2 at the opening comprises additional assistance means, acting beyond a point of equilibrium or latch 13 of the branch 3 located between the two bearing zones 10 , 11 defining stable positions "PSO", "PSF" and contributing to enhance the stable position in opening "PSO", said means being constituted by at least one magnetic element 14,15 integrated in one or other of the zones 11 of the stud 5 or 12 of the branch 3 forming the joint plane in opening J2, close to the hinge axis 7.
According to the present exemplary embodiment, the bearing zones 11, 12 constituting the joint plane in opening J2 of the tenon 5 with the branch 3 have two magnetic elements 14, 15 integrated on either side of these zones. support. Of course, a single magnetic element 14,15 could be mounted only on one of the support zones 11,12, facing another magnetizable metal zone located opposite, constituted by the branch 3 or the post 5.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the "WW" and "XX '" axes of the transverse articulation 7 of the tenon 5 and the piston 8 of the branch 3 which is secured thereto, via the organ of elastic return 9, are arranged asymmetrically with respect to the theoretical symmetrical longitudinal axes "ZZ" and "YY" respectively of the post 5 and the branch 3, so as to be shifted towards the inside of the branch 3, and consequently the tenon 5, to allow on the one hand the physical placement of the magnetic element 14,15 in the joint plane J2 to the outside, and on the other hand to obtain a stability zone formed by the joint plane Jl , of reduced surface, in the closed position "PSF" of the branch 3.
Such a design has been developed so that the restoring force of the elastic member 9 is sufficient to call the branch 3 in opening, after the user has exerted a manual pressure "Fl" on it, to involve him a overtravel closure at an angle α1 (see Figure 2), having the effect of overcompressing the elastic member 9, then releasing said pressure "Fl", which will have the effect of releasing said supercharged elastic member 9, thereby causing not only the opening of the branch 3 by the force "F2" (see Figure 3), but also the easy crossing of the point of equilibrium or flip-flop 13 (see Figure 4), because of the stability zone "Jl", of reduced surface, in closing position of the branch, and the "F3" overcompression released from the elastic member 9.
The opening is therefore automatic and it is also facilitated by the presence of magnetic elements 14,15 which exert reciprocally their power of attraction.
The branch 3 is then stabilized in opening (see Figure 5).
As already mentioned, in the case of overtravel at an angle 2 (see FIG. 6) of the opening branch 3, caused by an occasional force "F4", the magnetic elements 14, 15 have the role of reducing, according to the force "F5 », The branch 3 in its fixed opening position according to the angle a (see Figure 7).
According to another characteristic of the invention, the point of equilibrium or flip-flop 13 of the branch 3, situated between the two bearing zones 10, 11 defining the stable positions "PSO", "PSF", is rounded in such a way as to to facilitate its passage.
In this way, the inertia delivered by the elastic member 9 to the opening and attraction of the magnetic elements 14,15 can develop more freely and therefore more effectively. The presence of the magnetic elements 14,15 thus makes it possible to obtain an automatic opening of the branches 3, but this without any risk of reclosing thereof, because of the bistable effect of the articulation 6, which has just been described. .
Note also that the elastic member may be constituted by a compression spring or any other elastomeric member or elastic wire extension or by an assembly of magnetic elements.
