Method according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that at least two transport cases (16) are removed from the rack (14), in that data containing information relating to the removed transport cases (16) are transmitted to the central control unit (11) via the first data transmission connection, in that the central control unit (11) assigns the transport cases (16) to the selected order and stores corresponding data, in that a plurality of transport bags (20, 22) are removed from the handling apparatus (18) and are inserted into the transport cases (16), in that the apparatus (18) for handling banknotes transmits data containing information relating to the inserted transport bags (20, 22) to the central control unit (11) via the second data transmission connection, in that the central control unit (11) assigns the inserted transport bags (20, 22) to the transport cases (16) and/or to the order, in that the transport bags (20, 22) are removed from the transport cases (16) in the cash centre (24) and are identified, and in that the central control unit (16) detects the presence of a manipulation attempt if not all transport bags (20, 22), which should be accommodated in the transport cases (16) according to the data transmitted by the apparatus (18) for handling banknotes to the central control unit (11), are accommodated in the transport cases (16) and/or if the stock of banknotes in at least one transport bag (20, 22) which has been removed in the cash centre (24) differs from the desired stock of banknotes which should be in this transport bag (20, 22) according to the data transmitted by the apparatus (18) for handling banknotes to the central control unit (11).
