Von dieser Rolle ist das Verpackungsmaterial im wesentlichen senkrecht zur Förderrichtung der Fördereinrichtung aufgespannt, wobei die Fördereinrichtung die zu verpackenden Gegenstände gegen das aufgespannte Verpackungsmaterial transportiert, so dass die im wesentlichen rechteckige Gegenstände das Verpackungsmaterial durch Mitnahme abwickeln und sich das Verpackungsmaterial um die im wesentlichen rechteckigen Gegenstände legt für anschließende Trennung des um die im wesentlichen rechteckigen Gegenstände gezogenen Verpackungsmaterials von dem auf der Rolle zur Abwicklung vorrätig gehaltenen Verpackungsmaterial von Verschweißung in mindestens einem in Förderrichtung hinter dem aufgespannten Verpackungsmaterial vorgesehenen Schweißportal. Eine mechanische Zugvorrichtung ist relativ zur Fördereinrichtung gegenüber der über oder unter der Fördereinrichtung angeordneten Rolle angeordnet und mit Greifmitteln versehen zum Erfassen eines nach der Trennung freien Randes des auf der Rolle zur Abwicklung vorrätig gehaltenen Verpackungsmaterial, wobei das Verpackungsmaterial bevorzugt einfach von einer unterhalb der Fördereinrichtung liegenden Rolle hochgezogen wird und die oben angeordnete mechanische Zugvorrichtung mit Greifmitteln synchron zur Bewegung wieder abgelassen wird, wenn die Unterfolie lang genug ausgezogen ist, dass ein Trennschnitt erfolgen kann.
