Abstract

The load-bearing frame (1) of the balcony in top view has square "C" shape with the side arms ended with connecting joints. The joints have footing plates (4) with holes for anchors (5) mounted by adhesive- bonded joint with chemical hardening agent to the floor ring beam (7) of the building. The floor panel (3) is founded on the standing out to the inside along the three sides of the load-bearing frame (1) horizontal support (8). It is represented by the composite panel with the core of insulating material and with sheet metal plating. Side ends of the railing upper arms have vertical plates (9) with the hole for the anchor (10) mounted by adhesive-bonded joint with chemical hardening agent to vertical element that is joined with floor ring beams (7) or floor slabs of the adjacent floors, in particular in the inner pillar (11) or the division wall (12). Balcony solution according to the present utility model minimizes dead weight, and the construction works being launched only from the outside of the building are easy and not labor- absorbing.

Description

BALCONY FOR FIXING ON THE EXISTING BUILDINGS, ESPECIALLY LARGE-PANEL BUILDINGS
The subject of the utility model is the balcony to be mounted to the existing building, erected especially in large-panel buildings housing system.
The existing buildings without balconies do not meet the peoples' growing requirements concerning the comfort of living. Such a need resulted in creating number of solutions of attached balconies mounted to external walls of the existing building. In previously known solutions, load-bearing capacity and the required fixing of the balcony in the building structure is provided by external columns supporting the load- bearing frame of the balcony or by additional elements integrating the balcony with load-bearing structure of the building - that requires conversion and construction works launched from the inside of the living quarters. For example, a solution known from European patent application EP 0939172 allows mounting the balcony without the need to perform construction works inside the building but with the need to support the balcony floor panel with external columns. The floor panel is mounted to the side adjacent to the wall, on cantilevers anchored in a concrete floor slab. Anchors run via a coat of plaster, insulation coat and a concrete external wall; their corrugated edges with extension bolt are mounted to floor slab by means of adhesive -bonded joint with chemical hardening agent. In another solution - described in a Polish patent application no. P-288183 - that requires construction works inside the building, the dead- and live load of the balcony is transferred by vertical girders on the external wall which are mounted on inner belts on the inside wall on the uppermost floor of the building.
Balconies of metal framed structure with a square load-bearing frame and railing rigidly attached thereto are hung on girders. Exterior columns and girders usually lower the aesthetic qualities of the building and launching construction works inside the living quarters is uncomfortable for the dwellers.
The essence of the solution according to present utility model is that the load-bearing frame on which the floor panel is placed in its the top view has a rectangular "C" shape with connecting joints at the ends of the side arms. The connecting joints have footing plates with holes for anchors to be mounted by adhesive -bonded joint with chemical hardening agent to floor ring beam. The floor panel lis placed on the horizontal support which stands out to the inside along the three sides of the load-bearing frame. The composite panel adhered to the support constitutes the floor panel. The composite panel has a core of insulating material and aluminium sheet metal plating. Side ends of the railing arms have vertical plates with holes for the anchor to be mounted by adhesive- bonded joint with chemical hardening agent to vertical element joined with floor ring beams or floor slabs of the adjacent floors, especially in inner pillar or division wall. Such a solution (balcony) minimizes dead weight, mounting on construction elements of high capacity to transfer a vertical bending moment meets structural strength requirements, the mounting works performed only on the outside of the building are easy and not labor-absorbing.
It is advantageous when floor panel has a core from polystyrene balls joined together by synthetic adhesive, which fill completely the plate's inside, encased by aluminium sheet metal plating. The panel is of isolation properties, is very light, not absorbable and its high structural strength allows to cover extensive area and space without central supports but by adhesive-bonded joint along the edges.
The issue of heat leakage bridges on the frame attached to the wall by two connecting joints is additionally minimized by the implementation of thermal brakes between footings and floor ring beam of the building. Additionally, it is advantageous to make a load-bearing frame of closed rectangular section and to use in connecting joints gusset plates welded to the footing plates and to the profile after the plate has been slotted into the gap made along profile's vertical symmetry axis. The footing plate has four holes for anchors, symmetrically placed towards the vertical axis, two at the top and two at the bottom part of the footing plate.
Anti-sliding coating of the upper surface of the floor plate is advisable.
The balcony according to utility model is shown on the picture in its embodiment to be mounted to the wall of the block of flats erected in large-panel buildings - prefabricated - housing system. Figure 1 shows the balcony front view, fig. 2 shows the balcony top view, fig. 3 shows the balcony sectional view along the A-A line marked at fig.2, and fig.4 and 5 shows the balcony sectional views respectively along the Ei-B and C-C lines marked at fig.3.
The balcony consist of: load-bearing frame 1, railing 2 and floor panel 3. The load -bearing frame 1 is made of closed rectangular section. Top view shows its square "C" shape with the side arms ended with connecting joints. The connecting joints have butt welded footing plates 4 with holes for anchors 5, symmetrically placed towards the vertical axis of the closed rectangular section, two at the top and two at the bottom part of the footing plate 4. The joint is reinforced by gusset plate 6 being welded in, slotted into the gap in the top and the bottom arm of the closed rectangular section. The anchors 5 are mounted by adhesive-bonded joint with chemical hardening agent to the openings in the floor ring beam 7 of the building. Along three vertical , inner sides of the load-bearing frame 1 there is an angle welded on. arm of which constitutes a horizontal support 8 to which a floor panel 3 is adhered along three edges. The floor panel 3 constitutes the composite panel with a core made of polystyrene balls joined together by synthetic adhesive. which fill completely the plate's inside encased by aluminium sheet metal plating. The upper surface of the floor panel 3 have anti-sliding coating. The railing 2 is rigidly attached to the load-bearing frame 1 , side ends of the railing upper arms have vertical plates with holes 9 for the anchor 10. The anchor 10 is mounted by adhesive-bonded joint with chemical hardening agent to vertical element joined with floor ring beams 7 or floor slabs of the adjacent floors, which in this particular building constitute - to the left: the inner pillar 11 and to the right: the division wall 12. Thermal brakes 13 are implemented between footings 4 and the floor ring beam 7 to eliminate heat leaking bridges.
