  • the invention relates to a data carrier, in particular a document of value such as a bank note, identity card and the like, with a see-through area and a method for producing such a data carrier.
  • Data carriers such as security documents, documents of value or identity documents, but also other valuables are often equipped with security features for protection that allow the authenticity of the data carrier to be checked and at the same time serve as protection against unauthorized reproduction.
  • see-through security features such as see-through windows in banknotes, are becoming increasingly attractive.
  • a film provided with an adhesive layer on one side is applied to a bank note in order to close a previously created through opening of the bank note.
  • the present invention is based on the object of further improving data carriers of the type mentioned at the beginning with regard to their security against imitation and their visual appearance.
  • a generic data carrier in particular a document of value such as a bank note, identity card and the like, contains a carrier in which a see-through area is formed by a grid of a plurality of parallel cutting lines.
  • a motif area with a reflected light and / or transmitted-light changed visual impression arranged, which is in the form of a pattern, characters or coding.
