Claims (15)

  1. Method for production of a waterproof, breathable shoe structure, said shoe structure having an exterior upper (1) with a lower end, an inside and an outside, and an interior upper (2, 3) with a lower end, an insole (4) with a surrounding outer edge and an outsole (5),
    characterised in that a band (6) made from a thermoplastic material is placed around the end of the exterior upper (1) along the lower end of the exterior upper (1) so that the band (6) made from a thermoplastic material extends from the outside of the exterior upper (1) over the lower end of the exterior upper (1) to the inside of the exterior upper (1), that the band (6) made from a thermoplastic material is fixed to the exterior upper (1) before the interior upper (2, 3) is joined to the band (6) made from a thermoplastic material by a seam (T), and that after sewing the band (6) made from a thermoplastic material is caused to melt at least in the area of the seam (T).
  2. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that the interior upper has a waterproof and water vapour-permeable functional layer on the side facing towards the exterior upper.
  3. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that the exterior upper has a waterproof and water vapour-permeable functional layer on the inside, i.e. on the side facing towards the interior upper.
  4. Method according to one or more of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the band made from a thermoplastic material is fixed to the exterior upper by a seam such that the seam passes through the band on the outside of the exterior upper, the exterior upper, the band on the inside of the exterior upper.
  5. Method according to one or more of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the seam joining the lining to the band made from a thermoplastic material passes through the band on the outside of the exterior upper, the exterior upper and the band on the inside of the exterior upper and the lining.
  6. Method according to one or more of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the seam joining the lining to the band made from a thermoplastic material passes only through the band and the lining.
  7. Method according to one or more of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the band has a melting temperature in the range from 65°C to 75°C.
  8. Method according to one or more of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the band has a layer on at least one side that is tacky at room temperature.
  9. Method according to one or more of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the lower end of the interior upper extends beyond the lower end of the exterior upper, and interior upper and insole are joined by a seam, said seam passing through the interior upper and insole.
  10. Method according to claim 9, characterised in that the seam passes through the band made from a thermoplastic material, the interior upper and the insole.
  11. Method according to one or more of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the lower end of the exterior upper, the interior upper and the insole are joined by a seam, said seam passing through the band on the outside of the exterior upper, the exterior upper, the band on the inside of the exterior upper, the interior upper and the insole.
  12. Method for production of a waterproof, breathable shoe structure, said shoe structure having an exterior upper (1) with a lower end, an inside and an outside, and an interior upper (2, 3) with a lower end, an insole (4) with a surrounding outer edge and an outsole (5), wherein the lower end of the exterior upper extends beyond the lower end of the interior upper, characterised in that a band (6) made from a thermoplastic material is placed around the end of the exterior upper (1) along the lower end of the exterior upper (1) so that the band (6) made from a thermoplastic material extends from the outside of the exterior upper (1) over the lower end of the exterior upper (1) to the inside of the exterior upper (1), whereby the band (6) on the inside of the exterior upper (1) extends at least to the lower end of the interior upper, that the band (6) made from a thermoplastic material is fixed to the exterior upper (1) before the exterior upper (1) and the interior upper (2, 3) is placed around the outer edge of the insole so that the lower end of the exterior upper and the lower end of the interior upper arrive at the underside of the insole, and that the band (6) made from a thermoplastic material is caused to melt.
  13. Method according to claim 12, characterised in that the interior upper has a waterproof and water vapour-permeable functional layer on the side facing towards the exterior upper, or that the exterior upper has a waterproof and water vapour-permeable functional layer on the inside, i.e. on the side facing towards the interior upper.
  14. Waterproof, breathable shoe structure comprising an exterior upper (1) with a lower end, an interior upper (2, 3) with a lower end, an insole (4) with a surrounding outer edge and an outsole (5), wherein the interior upper (2, 3) has a waterproof and water vapour-permeable functional layer (3) on the side facing towards the exterior upper (1),
    characterised in that a band (6) made from a thermoplastic material is located along the lower end of the exterior upper (1) that is fixed to the exterior upper (1) and extends from the outside of the exterior upper (1) along the lower end of the exterior upper (1) to the inside of the exterior upper (1).
  15. Waterproof, breathable shoe structure according to claim 14, characterised in that the band extends into the seam holes of the functional layer and fills the space between thread and seam hole.
