Claims (9)

  1. Method for manufacturing a tear line (1) in the rear side of an interior trim material for vehicles (2) which preferably in at least one section is made of plastic, using an apparatus, which apparatus comprises:

    a tool which is mounted at a distance thereabove and can be moved back and forth by motor in the direction of the support (3) and which can be sunk in the rear side of the covering material (2) and moved forwards, following the path (5) of the desired tear line (1),
    wherein the back and forth movement of the tool (4) is caused at a frequency from 16 to 70 kHz, preferably 18 to 40 kHz,
    characterised in that
    the tool is formed by a drill bit (4), which drill bit (4), seen parallel to the direction of the back and forth movement, has a point angle which becomes increasingly larger in the direction of the cutting edge (6).
  2. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that the drill bit (4) is defined at the point, measured in the direction of the path (5) of the tear line (1), by a cutting edge (6) which runs convexly in at least one section.
  3. Method according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the drill bit (4), measured transversely to the path (5) of the tear line (1), has a point angle from 20 to 45°.
  4. Method according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the drill bit (4) at least in the region of the tear line (1) to be produced, seen parallel to the direction of the path (5) of the tear line (1), is defined by convexly outwardly curved side walls.
  5. Method according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the drill bit (4) has a length from 0.2 to 3 mm at the point, measured in the direction of the path (5) of the tear line (1).
