Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to the field of waste collection, more particularly the storage of waste in a container.
It is known that the storage of household waste generates inconveniences such as unpleasant odors.
The present invention is intended to overcome these disadvantages.
To this end, the invention relates to a container for the collection of household waste, comprising a storage tank for household waste and ventilation means of the storage tank.
Thus, paradoxically with the idea that it is better to make the closure of the container as tight as possible so as not to let the odors escape, or so that it is necessary to seek to mask or neutralize odors, it is proposed here to encourage the movement of air between the inside and the outside of the container.
Thanks to the ventilation of the storage space of the container, the air is recycled so as to limit the anaerobic fermentation that promotes the production of bad odors. In fact, the ventilation makes it possible to renew the oxygen contained in the storage space, and thus to promote aerobic degradation of the waste, which is less odorous than anaerobic fermentation. Ventilation can also decrease the growth of bacteria or insects.
In addition, by regularly venting the interior of the tank, the bad odors are considerably diluted and thus limits the release of odors occurring at the time of opening of the container, which is more pleasant when a user brings additional waste. The ventilation means also limit the release of odors during a bad closure or damage to the container.
Note that it is interesting to provide a ventilation of the interior of the tank. Indeed, the latter generally has a single opening for the introduction of waste, which is not conducive to the generation of drafts.
They include putrescible organic materials, sources of bad odors. The container can be disposed of in individuals or at a voluntary point of waste.
- The ventilation means comprise means for extracting air, in particular a movable air extraction ball, evacuating the polluted air contained in the container, the air extraction ball being activated preferably by the air currents around the container and more particularly the ball. The advantage of this air extraction ball is that it does not require additional energy input, because it is activated only by the movements of the air. This air extraction ball may take the form of a member pivotally mounted about an axis and provided with fins angularly distributed about the axis. We have a kind of wind extractor.
- The ventilation means comprise a propeller.
- The ventilation means are activated by a motor, which ensures a more efficient ventilation.
- The engine is powered by a dynamo-electric machine, called a dynamo. This dynamo is activated preferably by the opening and closing of a lid or a drum formed on the container, or by the rolling of the wheels of the container when it is mounted on wheels.
- The engine is powered by photovoltaic means, including a photovoltaic cell transforming solar energy into electrical energy. We understand that this renewable energy supply is particularly interesting.
- The motor is powered by a battery.
- The waste container is a buried or semi-buried container, or an overhead column.
- The container is a garbage bin mounted on wheels.
- The ventilation means are reported on the lid of the container. This embodiment is interesting because it is thus possible to provide the optional ventilation system on a tray, proposing either a standard cover or the cover with the ventilation means.
- The ventilation means are arranged to be disposed above the waste, for better efficiency, the air stirred is then in greater proportion of the polluted air. They are for example reported on the top or the side of a waste introduction terminal disposed above a buried container.
- The container comprises a ventilation opening, arranged in the vicinity of the ventilation means, the opening being protected by a filter. Thus, the ventilation means force the air through the filter. The filter is preferably an odor capture filter, for example a filter comprising active carbon, replaceable or self-regenerating by photo-catalysis. It will be noted that it is particularly advantageous to use an active carbon filter comprising a photocatalyst, for example titanium dioxide. Indeed, thanks to the photo-catalyst, ultraviolet rays come demolish odor molecules captured by activated carbon, to transform them into water and carbon dioxide, and thus regenerate the filter.
- The container comprises a ventilation opening, arranged in the vicinity of the ventilation means, this opening being protected by a grill. The toasting avoids the unwanted introduction of unwanted objects into the container through the opening and protects the users, bystanders and animals from the extraction ball.
- The container comprises a ventilation opening, arranged in the vicinity of the ventilation means, this opening being formed in a perforated wall of the container. Optionally, the wall comprises means for directing the incoming or outgoing air in a predetermined direction, away from the height at which could be the head of an individual in the vicinity of the container. For example, the guide means guide the air towards the ground, or in the vertical direction, towards the top of the container. It should be noted that it is particularly advantageous to use orientation means guiding the air towards the ground, such as flaps inclined downwards, because they thus prevent rainwater or urine from dogs being able to to get inside the container. Furthermore, it should be noted that the perforated wall may be directly constituted by one of the side walls of the container or may be attached to one of the side walls of the container, for example by being made on a hatch. According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the perforated wall is a wall made (possibly being attached to it) on a hatch called "inspection hatch", the hatch can be opened by means of a key, this hatch being it - even reported on one of the side walls of the container. This embodiment is advantageous in that it is not necessary to modify the entire side wall of the container to add the odor management function, this function can be added, optionally, to the inspection hatch only, keeping a side wall of standard shape.
- The ventilation means are capable of stirring a volume of air per hour greater than 5 times, and preferably greater than 10 times the volume of the empty container. This ensures a sufficient dilution of odors so that they do not cause inconvenience. For example, for a container of 5 m3 (cubic meters), the amount of air passing through the ventilation means is close to 50 m3 per hour.

The
The terminal 16 comprises a front wall, provided with a

The opening and the propeller are also covered with
The
Note that the invention is not limited to the previously described embodiments.
For example, the wall and / or the protective equipment may be configured so that the openings form means for directing the outgoing air in a predetermined direction, especially towards the ground.
In addition, in the case where the ventilation means are activated by a motor, this motor can be powered by a dynamo, activated for example by the opening and closing of the
In these examples, the ventilation means 22, 32 are able to mix a volume of air per hour close to ten times the volume of the empty container.
It is understood that the containers described above allow such a dilution of bad odors in the air that these odors are almost not perceptible by passersby.
