Claims (15)

  1.   2. The apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the event is a malfunction whose elimination requires an intervention of the operator, in particular a malfunction of a strapping device, of a bundling device, of a sensor, of a light barrier or a transport malfunction, for example a bank note jam, or that the event is the finding of a need for consumables of the apparatus (1).
  3. The apparatus according to any of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the cover (6) can be closed automatically, in particular by the operator activating a switch and/or as soon as the apparatus (1) has detected a certain event which was triggered through the intervention of the operator.

  7. The apparatus according to any of claims 1 to 6, characterized by at least one actuator (15) per cover (6), which acts upon the respective cover (6) and serves to automatically open the cover (6), in particular at least one actuating cylinder (15) per cover (6).
  8. The apparatus according to claim 7, characterized by a valve connected with the actuating cylinder (15), which valve is set up to slow down an opening movement of the cover (6) or a closing movement of the cover (6) by temporarily at least partly closing the valve.
  9. The apparatus according to any of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that in addition to the at least one actuator (15) per cover (6), there is present at least one gas pressure spring (22) per cover (6), which supports the opening movement of the cover (6) and holds the cover (6) in fully opened position.
  10. A method for operating an apparatus for processing documents of value, in particular bank notes, which has several processing zones (2, 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 13) each having at least one cover (6), comprising the following steps:
    - detecting events in the processing zones (2, 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 13), which require an intervention of an operator, and
    - opening at least one cover (6) of at least one of the processing zones (2, 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 13),
    characterized in that if one of the events is detected, a cover (6) associated to the event is opened automatically without intervention of the operator, whereby by the right cover (6) opening automatically, the operator is led directly to the processing zone (2, 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 13) in which the intervention of the operator is required.
  11. The method according to claim 10, characterized in that the opening of the cover (6) is effected by means of at least one actuator (15) per cover (6), which acts upon the respective cover (6), in particular by means of at least one actuating cylinder (15).
  12. The method according to claim 10 or 11, characterized in that by means of one gas pressure spring (22) per cover (6) there is supported the opening movement of the respective cover (6), and after the opening the cover (6) is held in fully opened position by means of the gas pressure spring (22).
  13. The method according to any of claims 10 to 12, characterized by the step of automatically closing the cover (6) by activating a switch and/or as soon as the apparatus (1) has detected a certain event which was triggered through the intervention of the operator.
  14. The method according to any of claims 10 to 13, characterized by the step of detecting the completely opened and/or the completely closed position of the covers (6).
  15. The method according to any of claims 10 to 14, characterized by the step that by temporarily closing a valve connected with the actuating cylinder (15), a closing movement of the opened cover (6) or an opening movement of the cover (6) is slowed down.
