Description

  • Die Erfindung betrifft eine Legierung mit Zink als Hauptbestandteil sowie Aluminium und Kupfer, sowie Titan und Bor oder Stickstoff, insbesondere zum Einsatz als Knetlegierung, deren Verwendung und Formkörper daraus sowie ein Verfahren zur Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Legierung.
  • Zinklegierungen gemäß dem Stand der Technik umfassen Aluminium, Kupfer, Magnesium und Silizium, sowie unvermeidliche Bestandteile an Cadmium, Blei und Eisen. Solche handelsübliche Zinklegierungen werden z. B. unter der Marke ZAMAK® vertrieben. Ferner ist aus DE 101 31 344 C1 bekannt, Zinklegierungen zur Herstellung von Zinkguss oder Zinkdruckguss mit geringen Mengen an Titan und Bor zu versehen. Es werden dort höchstens 0,05 Gew.-% Titan sowie höchstens 0,005 Gew.-% Bor zugesetzt, um eine Erhöhung der Zugfestigkeit sowie Verbesserung der Fließeigenschaften der Zinkguss- oder Zinkdruckgussprodukte zu erreichen.
  • Es hat sich jedoch gezeigt, dass diese Legierungszusammensetzungen für Knetlegierungen, insbesondere für den Einsatz im Bauwesen, weniger geeignet sind. Um die erforderlichen Festigkeitseigenschaften, vor allem die Zeitstandfestigkeit, bei gleichzeitigem günstigen Korrosionsverhalten zu erhalten, sind z.B. für Bauzinklegierungen nach EN 988 Zusätze von 0,08 - 1,0% Kupfer, 0,06 - 0,2% Titan erforderlich, aber nur bis zu 0,015% Aluminium erlaubt. Weitere Legierungszusätze, wie z.B. Magnesium und Silizium, sind in dieser Legierung wegen nachteiliger Effekte nicht erwünscht.
  • Für Bauzink ist die Gefügeausbildung im Umformprozess eine entscheidende Größe für die mechanisch- technologischen Eigenschaften, insbesondere für die Festigkeit und die Zeitstandfestigkeit, die Umformeigenschaften sowie die Oberflächenqualität.
  • JP-A-02274851 offenbart Zinklegierungen mit einem relativ hohen Aluminiumgehalt von 3 - 10 %.
  • DE-A-4446771 offenbart Bänder und Tafeln aus legiertem Zink, wobei als Legierungsbestandteile Titan, Kupfer, Aluminium, Magnesium und Lithium hinzugefügt werden. Lithium liegt in einer Menge von 0,01 - 0,1 Gew.-% und Magnesium in Mengen von 0,005 - 0,004 Gew.-% vor.
  • DE-C-10131344 offenbart Zinklegierungen für den Zink-Guss oder Zink-Druck-Guss, wobei neben Legierungsbestandteilen Aluminium, Kupfer, Magnesium, Titan, Bor und gegebenenfalls Chrom auch Silizium beigemischt worden ist.
  • Skenazi AF et al. in Metallwissenschaft und Technik, 37. Jahrgang, Heft 19, Seiten 898 - 902 offenbart Untersuchungen der Zusammenhänge zwischen Gefüge und mechanischen Eigenschaften von bestimmten Zink-Guss-Legierungen. Dort werden die Einflüsse der thermischen Behandlung der Abkühlungsgeschwindigkeit und insbesondere der Kornfeinung durch Zusätze beschrieben. Als Kornfeinungszusätze werden Bor, Titan, Zirkonium, Lanthan und Cer in "master alloys" von beispielsweise 5 % Aluminium, 1 % Titan beschrieben.
  • Es stellt sich die Aufgabe, eine verbesserte Legierung zur Verfügung zu stellen, die bei mindestens gleichwertigen mechanisch- technologischen Eigenschaften, insbesondere Zeitstandfestigkeit, sowie gleichwertigem Korrosionsverhalten wie die Legierungen nach dem Stand der Technik ein feineres Gefüge mit verbesserter Duktilität, verbesserter Verformbarkeit bei niedrigen Temperaturen und qualitativ besserer, von Charge zu Charge reproduzierbarerer Oberflächenstruktur aufweist. Dabei soll die Legierung als Knetlegierung verwendbar sein.
  • Diese Aufgabe wird durch eine Legierung mit den Merkmalen des Anspruchs 1 gelöst. Der Legierung werden mehr als 0,0005, insbesondere 0,001 bis 0,5 Gew.-% Bor oder mehr als 0,0005, insbesondere 0,001 bis 0,5 Gew.-% Stickstoff, zugesetzt wird. Der Zusatz von Stickstoff kann beispielsweise als Gas über eine Lanze der Schmelze zugegeben werden. Die erfindungsgemäße Legierung enthält keine Beimengungen an Silizium und Magnesium. Dem Fachmann ist aber klar, dass geringste Mengen dieser Elemente in der erfindungsgemäßen Legierung, eingebracht durch Verunreinigungen in den anderen Bestandteilen, nicht ausgeschlossen werden können.
  • Überraschenderweise zeigt die erfindungsgemäße Legierung nicht nur eine Verbesserung der mechanisch- technologischen Eigenschaften, insbesondere der Festigkeit, sondern auch eine verbesserte Verformbarkeit bei niedrigen Temperaturen sowie eine gleichmäßigere Oberflächenstruktur, ohne dass die Korrosionseigenschaften und die Zeitstandfestigkeit sich verschlechtern.
  • Nachfolgend sind die erfindungsgemäßen Legierungen näher beschrieben:
  • Ein Gegenstand der Erfindung ist eine Zinklegierung mit Zink als Hauptbestandteil sowie Aluminium, Kupfer, und Titan und gegebenenfalls Bor oder Stickstoff als weitere Legierungsbestandteile, enthaltend:
    • 0,005 bis weniger als 3, insbesondere 0,005 bis 2 oder 0,005 bis 0,015 Gew.-% Aluminium,
    • 0,01 bis 1,5, insbesondere 0,1 bis 1,0 oder 0,1 bis 0,2 Gew.-% Kupfer, mehr als 0,05, insbesondere 0,06 bis 0,25 oder 0,08 bis 0,12 Gew.-% Titan und
    • mehr als 0,0005, insbesondere 0,001 bis 0,5 Gew.-% Bor, oder mehr als 0,0005, insbesondere 0,001 bis 0,5 Gew.-% Stickstoff.
  • Ein weiterer Gegenstand der Erfindung betrifft die Verwendung einer Zinklegierung mit Zink als Hauptbestandteil sowie Aluminium, Kupfer, und Titan und gegebenenfalls Bor oder Stickstoff als weitere Legierungsbestandteile, enthaltend :
    • 0,005 bis weniger als 3, insbesondere 0,005 bis 2 oder 0,005 bis 0,015 Gew.-% Aluminium,
    • 0,01 bis 1,5, insbesondere 0,1 bis 1,0 oder 0,1 bis 0,2 Gew.-% Kupfer, mehr als 0,05, insbesondere 0,06 bis 0,25 oder 0,08 bis 0,12 Gew.-% Titan und
    • mehr als 0,0005, insbesondere 0,001 bis 0,5 Gew.-% Bor oder mehr als 0,0005, insbesondere 0,001 bis 0,5 Gew.-% Stickstoff.
  • In einer Ausgestaltung der Erfindung wird die Knetlegierung in Form von Tafeln, Bändern, Folien oder Drähten hergestellt. Diese Knetlegierung wird insbesondere in der Bauindustrie verwendet.
  • Die erfindungsgemäße Legierung kann auch zu Formkörpern verarbeitet werden, beispielsweise als Dachrinnen, Traufenbleche, Regenfallrohre, Rohrbögen, Rinnenwinkel, Rinneneinhangstutzen, Rinnenböden, Paneele, Kassetten, Falzprofile
  • Ein weiterer Gegenstand der Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Zinklegierungen, wobei
    1. a) Zink, Aluminium und Kupfer in ein Behältnis gegeben und erschmolzen werden, oder alternativ aus Zink, Titan und Kupfer eine Vorlegierung erschmolzen wird und diese mit Aluminium und Zink in ein Behältnis gegeben und aufgeschmolzen wird,
    2. b) diese Schmelze für mindestens 12 h bei mindestens 500°C homogenisiert wird,
    3. c) anschließend Titan und Bor oder Stickstoff oder alternativ eine borhaltige Vorlegierung zugegeben wird,
    4. d) diese Legierung für mindestens 10 min homogenisiert wird und
    5. e) abgekühlt wird.
  • In einer weiteren Ausführungsform wird in Schritt a) zunächst aus Zink, Kupfer und Titan eine Vorlegierung hergestellt und diese dann mit Zink und Aluminium gemäß Schritt b) erschmolzen. In Schritt c) wird dann nur noch eine borhaltige Vorlegierung oder Stickstoff zugegeben. Schritte d) und e) bleiben gleich.
  • Die erfindungsgemäße Legierung wird nachstehend durch ein Ausführungsbeispiel erläutert:
  • Zunächst wurde aus Zink, Kupfer und Titan eine Vorlegierung hergestellt. Diese wurde mit Aluminium und Zink zu einer Bauzinklegierung nach EN 988 erschmolzen. Nach der Homogenisierung für ca. 12 h bei ca. 550°C wurde eine borhaltige Vorlegierung zugegeben und die Legierung für weitere ca. 60 min. bei 550°C homogenisiert. Die resultierende Legierung enthält:
    • 0,08 - 0,12 % Titan, 0,1 - 0,2 % Kupfer, < 0,015 % Aluminium, 0,001-0,01 % Bor, Rest Zink 99,995%.
  • Die Legierung wurde danach im kontinuierlichen Gieß-Walz- Verfahren in einer 5-gerüstigen Duo- Tandenstraße auf eine Enddicke von 0,8 mm ausgewalzt.
  • Im Vergleich zu einer nach dem gleichen Verfahren gefertigten Standard-Bauzinklegierung nach EN 988 (ohne Bor) derselben Materialstärke weist die erfindungsgemäße Legierung folgende Eigenschaften auf:

  • Die erfindungsgemäße Legierung wurde in einem Säurebad vorbewittert, um den Farbton der natürlichen Bewitterung vorweg zu nehmen. Bei diesem Prozess tritt die Oberflächen-struktur verstärkt hervor. Es zeigte sich, dass die Oberfläche der erfindungsgemäßen Legierung (Fig. 1)eine feinere, gleichmäßigere Struktur aufwies als die Oberfläche einer gleichermaßen behandelten Standard- Bauzinklegierung nach EN 988 (Fig.2).

Claims (5)

  1. Zinklegierung bestehend aus Zink als Hauptbestandteil sowie Aluminium, Kupfer, und Titan und gegebenenfalls Bor oder Stickstoff als weitere Legierungsbestandteile, enthaltend:
    0,005 bis weniger als 3, insbesondere 0,005 bis 2 oder 0,005 bis 0,015 Gew.-% Aluminium,
    0,0 1 bis 1,5, insbesondere 0,1 bis 1,0 oder 0,1 bis 0,2 Gew.-% Kupfer,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Zinklegierung umfasst:
    mehr als 0,05, insbesondere 0,06 bis 0,25 oder 0,08 bis 0,12 Gew.-% Titan und
    mehr als 0,0005, insbesondere 0,001 bis 0,5 Gew.-% Bor, oder mehr als 0,0005, insbesondere 0,001 bis 0,5 Gew.-% Stickstoff, mit der Maßgabe, dass die Zinklegierung keine Beimengungen an Silizium und Magnesium enthält.
  2. Verwendung der Zinklegierung gemäß Anspruch 1 als Knetlegierung, insbesondere für die Bauindustrie.
  3. Verwendung gemäß Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Knetlegierung in Form von Tafeln, Bändern, Folien oder Drähten vorliegt.
  4. Formkörper aus einer Zinklegierung gemäß Anspruch 1.
  5. Verfahren zur Herstellung der Zinklegierung gemäß Anspruch 1, wobei
    a) Zink, Aluminium und Kupfer in ein Behältnis gegeben und erschmolzen werden, oder alternativ aus Zink, Titan und Kupfer eine Vorlegierung erschmolzen wird und diese mit Aluminium und Zink in ein Behältnis gegeben und aufgeschmolzen wird,
    b) diese Schmelze für mindestens 12 h bei mindestens 500°C homogenisiert wird,
    c) anschließend Titan und Bor oder Stickstoff oder alternativ eine borhaltige Vorlegierung zugegeben wird,
    d) diese Legierung für mindestens 10 min homogenisiert wird und
    e) abgekühlt wird.
