Definitions
- the invention relates to a method and a device for applying a structure to a wood-based panel.
- the surface coating ensures that the wood-based panel receives a wear-resistant, light and moisture-resistant surface.
- the surface coating also includes a decor that meets aesthetic requirements.
- the decor wants to achieve the reproduction of a natural substance such as wood or stone, a structure is introduced into the surface coating in addition to the decor. In the production of printing decors today is required that the structure that is applied in subsequent process steps, as closely as possible to match the decor. The structure should therefore be decorsynchronous for optimal aesthetic effect.
- the paint or resin is usually applied.
- the structure is usually produced after the application of the paint or synthetic resin. This can be done by embossing the paint or synthetic resin with press plates in short-cycle presses or in continuous processes with rollers. Alternatively, raised structures can also be produced by applying highly filled, highly viscous paints one after the other. Finally, agents can be applied that affect the flow of paint.
- the DE 10 2004 032 058 A1 describes the creation of a color decoration with different wettable inks.
- the EP 1 645 339 summarizes the known methods for producing decorsynchronous structures on wood-based panels. As a rule, however, pore structures, ie depressions, are to be simulated, but the application of raised structures is not regarded as optimal in the aesthetic effect.
- the DE 10 2004 056 584 A1 teaches the application of a pore ink to a gelled lacquer layer and the application of a further lacquer layer, the course of which is affected by the pore ink.
- This document discloses a method and an apparatus according to the preamble of claims 1 and 5, respectively.
- the invention relates to wood-based material surfaces which are sealed with at least one lacquer layer.
- several layers of paint are applied, including z. B.
- one or more paint layers contain the corundum or paint layers of different gloss levels.
- a lacquer layer often also contains other functional component, the z. B. affect the acoustic properties, the feel or the conductivity of the surface.
- the decor is first applied to the surface of the wood-based panel, then at least one coat of paint and finally the structure is created.
- means for generating a structure so z. B. applied means for influencing the course of paints before applying a paint layer.
- the application of the decor and the creation of a structure for. B. by applying a means that affects the course of the paint, but always takes place temporally and spatially separated.
- the structures to be produced are often very small dimensions and sometimes color-backed, z. B. as a reproduction of fine, black-ground pores in wood decors, so that in the vote small areas of color that are consistent with structures in accordance, particularly fast and often pass inaccuracies arise. Creating decorsynchronous structures with optimal aesthetic effect is therefore difficult.
- the decoration is first applied.
- This usually includes a primer that creates a uniform color surface.
- the primer is the decor.
- two or more layers of paint or pigments are applied, usually in sections, so punctiform, stripe or strip-shaped.
- the primer is already matched to the other layers of the decor.
- the primer is already matched to the other layers of the decor.
- the primer comes to the primer as a pattern elements more layers of color added, which are usually applied in sections and then a natural decor, z. B. form a wood or stone sur face or a fantasy decor.
- the decor is produced by one or more layers, spots, or dots, stripes or strokes of colors or pigments.
- Inks and pigments are usually applied as a UV-curable or aqueous ink.
- the layers do not always follow each other directly, the color layers of the decoration can be separated from each other, for example, by layers of paint.
- the application of a decor or the color layers of a decor is carried out according to the invention by a digital printer.
- Digital printers are e.g. Ink-jet printers that use nozzles that produce the finest droplets of paint and spray or spray onto the surface of the wood-based panel.
- the decor is followed by one or more layers of paint or varnish.
- the desired sealing can be achieved with a lacquer layer.
- a high degree of transparency of the seal or a uniform as possible curing usually several layers of paint are applied.
- Individual lacquer layers can have different compositions.
- at least one lacquer layer has corundum in order to achieve increased abrasion resistance. They can also contain conductive particles to achieve a given conductivity.
- the agents are applied, which influence the flow of paint, hereinafter also called disturbance-disturbing agent.
- these are agents whose surface tension differs from that of the paint, usually being lower.
- paint can not wet the surface provided with anti-wiping agents in the same way as the adjacent paint-coated surface.
- An agent that affects the flow of paint is usually worse or not wetted by paint.
- agents which have a surface tension of less than 33 mN / m, preferably in the range from 20 mN / M to 25 mN / m, are suitable for influencing the flow of paint.
- the course-disturbing means are liquid. Often liquids containing the silicone compounds are used to create flow defects of paints; the flow disturbing liquids may also contain dyes. Silicone compounds are suitable because they have a good adhesion despite a worse in comparison to paint or color surfaces usability. So they do not interfere with the structure of a multi-layer surface coating because of reduced adhesion behavior. These liquids, which cause a disturbance in the course of paints, cause the coating layer to form only partially and often in the environment of the flow-disturbing agent. In rare cases, it is also completely missing. So there is a depression in the surface coating or mirroring. This depression is called a structure. The structure is thus a depression in the sealing of the wood-based panel. The structure is detectable as a portion of the seal having a reduced strength to the environment. The Structure is perceived as a pore.
- the structure produced according to the invention corresponds to the imitation natural decors.
- Wood decors in particular come close to the natural example, if the pores of the wood can be reproduced as naturally as possible.
- the pores are usually elongated, a few tenths of a millimeter wide and up to several millimeters long.
- a depth of a few thousandths or hundredths of a millimeter is sufficient to produce an optimal aesthetic effect.
- the anti-flow agents are applied according to the prior art with rollers.
- the lateral surface of the roller is designed in relief, the depressions on the lateral surface take on a course disturbing means and transfer it to the surface of the wood-based panel.
- a structure can be produced in each case with a roller.
- a slightly larger variety of designed wood-based surfaces can be achieved if different decors are tuned to this pore structure.
- a truly individual, natural template reproducing structure can be produced only very complex for a decor with a structure-giving roller. If the structure is then not completely accurately applied over the decor, creates a blurred, aesthetically unsatisfactory decor.
- the decor is also applied with a digital printer in order to reproduce the decoration in a particularly precise manner and with a differentiated color spectrum.
- the application of the decoration and the lacquer layer and of the agent which influences the course of the lacquer is controlled by a control device.
- the control device coordinates, in particular, the sequence and the positioning of individual color layers, the application of individual lacquer layers and their curing or setting, as well as the application and positioning of the course-disturbing means.
- This control or coordination ensures a wood-based panel whose surface has a decor and a matching, decorsynchronous structure, which develop an optimal aesthetic effect.
- the control device converts presets of a data record containing the information for the design of the decoration and for applying the agent, which influences the running of paint.
- the desired decor is laid down for the industrial production of decors in digital data records.
- the information contains in particular information about the position of sections, e.g. point, strip or line applied color, hues, the position of structures or the areas or areas are applied to the flow disturbing means.
- the time and / or the path is detected, which takes to be provided with a structure wood material board, z. B. from equipment for applying paint to equipment or means for applying paint to facilities for applying anti-flow agents.
- the control device controls the systems for applying paint, lacquer and anti-clogging agent in the light of this information, thus ensuring that the decor and the structure correspond in an aesthetically optimal manner.
- the means for detecting time and / or path are preferably arranged before equipment or means for applying the decoration or for applying the course disturbing means, so as to ensure the best possible fit accuracy.
- Wood-based panels with a non-planar surface may be those in which z. B. the bottom is flat, but the top is shaped like a relief, for example by embossing or by milling. Typically, this is a surface that mimics a weathered wood surface, with less pronounced erosion in areas of higher density are considered areas of lower density.
- a non-planar surface may also be created by deforming the plate as a whole.
- the structure to be applied according to the invention is preferably adapted to the non-planar surface of a wood-based panel in order to produce an optimal aesthetic impression,
- Apply agent that affects the running of paint are stored, where in the control device, a data set for controlling the means for applying the decoration and for applying the means that influences the flow of paint is stored, and that the means for applying pattern elements of the decor and the means for applying the agent, the bleeding of paint, are digital printers, and that the control device is adapted to convert presets of a data set containing the information to the design of the decor and to apply the agent that affects the flow of paint.
- Means, installations or elements of such a device have already been mentioned in part already.
- Means for applying a single or multi-layered decoration are z.
- rollers sprayers or, preferably, digitally controllable blasting devices.
- Digital printers are according to the invention required for pattern elements of the decor, which are not applied over the entire surface. While a primer that serves as the background of the decor can easily be applied with rollers, it is necessary that pattern elements of the decor, such as strokes or smaller color areas, be applied with digital printers.
- Means for applying paint are preferably rollers, in addition, all known systems with which paint are applied to the surface of wood materials can, also suitable for the eröndungsgczeße device.
- the means or systems for applying paint also include the systems with which paint can be cured in whole or in part.
- the agent that influences the running of paint is applied according to the invention with a digital printer. It can be arranged between and / or after the paint shops.
- the control device is connected to the aforementioned means or equipment for applying decoration and paint and with the digital printer for applying the course disturbing means and controls at which points the surface of the wood material plate color, paint or anti-flow agent is applied.
- the control device accesses records in which predetermined and fixed, at which point of the wood-based panel which color, how much paint and whether the course disturbing agent is applied.
- the control device can flexibly and accurately control the components of the decoration which are not applied surface-wide and which guide the deflection-disturbing means to a decoration and a structure to produce, which are exactly matched. Since both digital printers are to be controlled in the same way, a record is sufficient to produce fully matched surface coatings on painted wood-based surfaces.
- the devices or means are provided for detecting time and / or path, which accurately detect the position of the wood-based panel and transmit this position of the control device.
- the control device can then control the systems or means for applying decor, paint and course-disturbing agent on the wood-based panel according to the specifications of the record.
- the devices for detecting time and / or path determine the position of the wood-based panel based on identifiers or markings on the wood-based panel, advantageously on the surface of the wood-based panel. They are preferably mounted in front of the means for applying the decoration and the devices for applying the flow disturbing means.
- means for guiding the wood-based panel are provided by the vibration of the wood-based panel is limited to a minimum. It has proven to be very helpful to guide the wood-based panel to be provided with a structure not only as usual in the conveying direction, but additionally to limit the extent of the oscillation into which a moving panel of wood material is displaced without this measure. Vibrations are movements in a direction that is not the direction of conveyance.
- the inventive guiding or fixing the wood-based panel contributes significantly to the fact that very detailed, small-scale decors or pattern elements and coordinated structures can be applied to the wood-based panel in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
- a vacuum table is used to guide the wood-based panel.
- Fig. 1 shows a high-density fiberboard 1 (HDF plate) with profiled, when laying panel to panel interlocking edges 2.
- the plate 1 may, for. B. be used as a floor panel or as a wall or ceiling panel.
- a decor 3 is applied, that is composed of the decorative area 3 a, here a continuous, full-surface primer, and the decorative area 3 b.
- the decor area 3b is a decor applied in sections, here from point, line-shaped and strip-shaped pattern elements composite decor, with a real wood surface is imitated.
- a decorsynchronous structure 4 is applied, which will be discussed in more detail below.
- Fig. 1b shows the fiberboard 1 in section.
- the profiled edges 2 and provided with a decor 3 and a structure 4 surface 5 of the fiberboard 1 are visible.
- the in Fig. 1b Circular marked section is in Fig. 1c shown enlarged.
- a decor 3 is applied on the flat surface 5 of the fiberboard 1 .
- the decor 3 consists of a primer, which is applied continuously as a decorative area 3 a.
- the decor 3 consists of a decorative area 3 b, which consists of darker dots, lines and stripes, so from partially applied colors.
- the lines of the decorative area 3 b highlight among other pores which the viewer perceives as dark lines.
- Over the decor 3 two layers of paint 6 are arranged, which ensure a seal of the surface of the wood material.
- the two layers of varnish 6 flow into each other and are no longer separated from each other after curing.
- structures 4 are arranged over at least some of the lines of the decoration area 3 b.
- the structures 4 are points at which the layers of lacquer 6 are thinner than over the decoration area 3 a.
- the structures 4 are perceived by the viewer of the surface as a pore, and that because the pore is felt as a depression.
- the viewer becomes a "real" wooden pore perceive pore.
- the decor and the structure are aesthetically optimal because they are designed to fit perfectly or decorsynchronously.
- Fig. 2 a also shows a high density fiberboard 1 '(HDF board) with an embossed non-planar surface 5' provided with a decor 3a 'and 3b' (primer and pattern elements).
- the Fig. 2 b shows a partial enlargement of the Fig. 2 a.
- the surface 5 'of the fiberboard 1' is embossed so as to reflect the surface of a weathered board in which wood of lower density is more eroded than wood of higher density.
- On the surface 5 'of this fiberboard 1' are a decor 3 'and lacquer layers 6' and structures 4'aufmony.
- the decor 3 'kit the decorative areas 3a' and 3b 'and the structure 4' on the embossed, non-planar surface 5 'of the fiberboard i tuned so that an optimal aesthetic impression of the decorated and textured surface 5' of the fiberboard 1 'results.
- the Fig. 1 and 2 are schematic, non-scale representations.
- the decorative area 3b, 3b ' is embedded in the layers of lacquer 6, 6'.
- the layers of lacquer 6, 6 ' are shown as a uniform layer.
- the fiberboard is fixed on a conveyor belt 8 on a support 9, here a vacuum table, which minimizes the swinging of the fiberboard 1 during conveyance from one surface-coating plant to the next.
- the control device accelerates the conveyor belt 8 by means of conventional drives to a predetermined speed.
- a first, not according to the invention concerned with the so accelerated, but fixed guided fiber board 1, 1 'now successively passes a roller 10, the entire surface of a primer on the surface of the fiber board 1, 1' applies.
- the primer is identical to the decoration area 3a.
- the spring 2a (see Fig. 2a ), which engages when laying in a groove 2b, is provided with an identifier 7, which is detected by a first measuring optics 13.
- the first measuring optics 13 transmit the position of the identifier 7 to a control device (not shown).
- the fiberboard is further promoted and passes a first digital printer 11, an inkjet printer.
- the control device actuates two consecutively arranged, digitally controllable inkjet printers 11, 11 '. , which now apply a colored pattern of lines and stripes, the decoration area 3b, to the primer in differently toned, UV-curable ink.
- the pattern reflects a flader of an oak veneer surface.
- the fiberboard 1 now passes through a dryer 12 equipped with UV light, which hardens the primer 3a and the pattern 3b by the action of UV light.
- water based ink is used, which is then dried with a temperature controlled dryer. The temperature of the dryer 12 and the conveying speed of the fiberboard 1 when passing through the dryer 12 are predetermined by the control device.
- the fiberboard 1 is now passed under a second digital printer 14 which transfers strokes, narrow stripes and small dots of low viscosity silicone dispersion (surface tension: 25 mN / m) to the surface of the fiberboard.
- the digital printer is an inkjet printer whose nozzles are adapted for spraying silicone dispersions.
- a second measuring optics 13 'detects the position of the fiber board 1, reports these to the control device and the control device from this information and the conveying speed when the second digital printer 14 transfers silicon dispersion to the surface of the fiber board 1.
- the control device accesses a single data record which contains all the information relating both to the decor with decoration area 3 a and 3 b and to the structure 4.
- the dataset was created from a photo of an original veneer.
- the record may contain edits, e.g. B. in terms of a unified color.
- edits e.g. B. in terms of a unified color.
- information on the sequence, composition and order quantity of the paint are included in the record.
- the fiberboard 1, 1 ' is brought to paint applicator rolls 15, 15', which apply the electron beam-curing lacquer to the surface 5 of the fiberboard 1.
- a first paint application roller 15 applies corundum paint.
- the corundum-containing paint flows on the surface of the fiberboard to a uniform position. However, he can not evenly wet or completely wet the surfaces provided with the silicone dispersion.
- the corundum-containing paint is not fully cured by brief action of an electron beam source 16, but gelled.
- a second latatentragswalze 15' may further radiation-curing paint. This varnish can not cover these silicone-containing surfaces so well that a seal with varnish of low thickness is produced here.
- Above the primer (decor area 3a) the two layers of paint flow to full strength. After passing through the second paint application roller 15 ', the two layers of paint are completely cured by the action of an electron beam line 16'.
- the first, corundum lacquer layer is applied over the entire surface and annealed, so partially hardened.
- a highly viscous silicone dispersion is applied, which does not flow on the non-planar surface of the fiber board 1'.
- the second layer of UV varnish which is applied by the second varnish application roller 15 'to the surface 5' of the fibreboard can not wet the highly viscous silicone dispersion, so that after the entire varnish has cured, the surface 5 "of the fiberboard 1 'is penetrated by a continuous, corundum lacquer layer and of a nearly continuous, but line, strip and dot-shaped recesses forming second lacquer layer 6 is coated.
- Primer applied as a decorative area 3a On the primer 3a, a layer of corundum-containing paint is applied with a roller 15, which is then cured with UV light 16. On the cured lacquer by means of the digital printer 11 ', a pattern of stripes, dots and lines, the decorative area 3b, applied to the paint. Here, colors are used that create pearlescent or afterglow effects. Subsequently, a further layer of varnish is applied by means of roller 15 'without corundum. On the non-cured lacquer, a pattern of a means interfering with the course of the lacquer is applied by means of the second digital printer 14, synchronous with the decor area 3b. The not yet cured paint gives way to the course disturbing agent. Thereafter, the paint is cured by means of a UV light source 16 '. All the information used to control the first digital printer 11, 11 'and the second digital printer 14, 14' is taken from a single data set.
- the fourth embodiment of the invention describes another typical embodiment of the method according to the invention in relation to an HDF board whose edges are provided with connecting profiles.
- a colored decoration of lines and stripes is applied by means of an inkjet printer to small, irregularly shaped surface sections.
- the colored ink is cured by means of UV light.
- a layer of corundum varnish is applied to this colored décor.
- the rolled paint is cured by means of UV light.
- a silicone dispersion having a surface tension of 30 mN / m is applied by a second ink jet printer digitally controlled by the controller and dried or cured.
- the second digital printer is controlled by the control device, which resorts to the same data set which it used to apply the decoration. Furthermore, the control device takes into account the path and the time that have passed from the application of the structure to the application of the decoration. In this way, structure and decor are exactly associated with each other.
- the structure is applied in the surface coating.
- the following lacquer layers can not wet the areas of the surface of the panel to which the silicone dispersion is applied in the same way as the primer.
- On the course disturbing means a sanding ground is born, which forms the substrate for a scratch-resistant topcoat applied in several layers (here: three layers).
- the four exemplary embodiments show that the device with which the agent which disturbs the course of the varnish is applied can be attached to different points of the production device. It is also possible to arrange a plurality of devices for the application of disturbance-preventing means, which are individually controlled by the control device.
- the information required to generate both the decoration 3, 3 'and the structure 4, 4' is summarized in a single dataset.
- the information for applying the lacquer layer may optionally also be contained in this data record; However, this is not absolutely necessary to produce a surface with aesthetically optimally appealing structure.
