Claims (11)

  1. Household appliance, in particular refrigerator, with
    a door (12), which can tilt about a tilt axis (14), and
    a braking device (20) for damping the tilt motion of the door (12),
    characterised in that
    a transferring unit (30) is provided, for transferring the rotation of the tilt axis (14) to a braking axis (22) during the tilt motion of the door (12), which is offset relative to the tilt axis (14), and the braking device (20) is in functional cooperation with the braking axis (22).
  2. Household appliance according to claim 1,
    characterised in that
    the tilt axis (14) comprises a pin (15) and
    the transferring unit (30) comprises a multiplicity of toothed wheels (34-37), the first toothed wheel (34) of which is connected to the pin (15) in a torque-free manner and the last toothed wheel (37) of which is connected to the braking device (20) in a torque-free manner.
  3. Household appliance according to claim 2,
    characterised in that
    the last toothed wheel (37) is stepped down relative to the first toothed wheel (34).
  4. Household appliance according to claim 1,
    characterised in that
    the tilt axis (14) comprises a pin (15) and
    the transferring unit (30) comprises a universal joint, one end of which is connected to the pin (15) in a torque-free manner and whose other end is connected to the braking device (20) in a torque-free manner.
  5. Household appliance according to claim 1,
    characterised in that
    the tilt axis (14) comprises a pin (15) and
    the transferring unit (30) comprises a belt drive with two belt pulleys and a belt, wherein a first belt pulley is connected to the pin (15) in a torque-free manner and a second belt pulley is connected to the braking device (20) in a torque-free manner.
  6. Household appliance according to one of the claims 2 to 5,
    characterised in that
    the door (12) is mounted on a frame (40) in a pivotable manner and
    the pin (15) is connected to the door (12) in a torque-free manner.
  7. Household appliance according to one of the claims 2 to 5,
    characterised in that
    the door (12) is mounted on a frame in a pivotable manner, and encloses a cavity (19),
    the pin is connected to the frame in a torque-free manner, and
    the transferring unit (30), the braking device (20) and the braking axis (22) are arranged within the cavity (19).
  8. Household appliance according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterised in that
    the door (12) is built into a larger door (50) of the household appliance, which can tilt about an essentially vertically arranged door tilt axis (54).
  9. Household appliance according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterised in that
    the tilt axis (14) is essentially horizontally arranged.
  10. Household appliance according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterised in that
    the transferring unit (30) acts on the tilt axis (14).
  11. Household appliance according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterised in that
    the braking device (20) is formed by a friction-braked piston (28) which can move within a cylinder (27).
