Abstract

The present invention relates to an oven (1) that comprises a depression (9) formed on the rear wall (4) having suction holes (7) thereon, sized to include the portion corresponding to the sweeping area of the fan (6) and extending to at least above the uppermost and below the lowermost positions wherein the tray (T) can be placed for cooking the food effectively and evenly by maintaining a homogeneous circulation of air in the cooking chamber (3).

Description
AN OVEN
[0001] The present invention relates to an oven that enables the food placed therein to be cooked more homogeneously and effectively.
[0002] One or more heaters are provided in ovens wherein the cooking process is performed by means of convection, and the food is cooked by the heat transfer created between the air heated by the said heater and the foods to be cooked. However, the temperature of the cooking chamber is relatively higher near the heater and is lower in the distant parts. Therefore, the cooking process cannot be performed homogeneously. In order to find a solution for this problem encountered during the cooking process, a fan is disposed on the rear wall of the cooking chamber, providing the air heated by the heater to be distributed in the cooking chamber homogeneously by the actuation of the fan and to increase the heat transfer between the hot air to the food to be cooked.
[0003] In ovens, a rear wall is utilized that divides the cooking chamber volume into two such that a compartment containing the fan and the heater is formed for directing the air activated by the fan and maintain a homogeneous air distribution in the cooking chamber.
[0004] In the oven explained in the state of the art United States of America
Patent No US4357522, guiding means are provided on the rear wall for directing the air activated by the fan.
[0005] In the state of the art Great Britain Patent Application No GB2105459, an oven is explained comprising a rear wall having air suction holes at the center with holes arranged vertically on both sides thereof.
[0006] In the state of the art Great Britain Patent No GB2226400, an oven is explained wherein the rear wall is configured to be multi-pieced, having apertures at the sides.
[0007] In another state of the art document, the German Patent No DE4007198, in the oven explained, the portion of the rear wall corresponding to the fan is configured like a funnel with the mouth widening towards the cooking chamber. Moreover, in this patent, baffles of various shapes and sizes between the fan protection plate and the cooking chamber are explained. [0008] However, in these implementations known in the technique, homogeneous air circulation cannot be maintained since the air around the upper and lower trays cannot be effectively directed to the suction holes when particularly the trays are placed to bear against the rear wall. This results in some of the food placed at different positions in the cooking chamber to be burned while the others to be undercooked.
[0009] The aim of the present invention is the realization of an oven wherein the foods (to be cooked) are cooked effectively and evenly by maintaining a homogeneous air circulation in the cooking chamber.
[0010] The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a depression containing suction holes thereon, the base of which projects out of the uppermost and lowermost positions wherein the trays can be placed, including the portion of the rear wall corresponding to the area swept by the fan.
[0011] Consequently, the air can be more effectively aspirated from the surfaces of the uppermost and lowermost trays placed in the cooking chamber and thus homogeneous air circulation is maintained.
[0012] In an embodiment of the present invention, the base of the depression is shaped elliptically. The ellipse shape is advantageous since configuration of the depression can be thin, long and with curved sides, with a width that does not project to the side portions of the rear wall containing the blowing holes thereon. By means of the curved sides, a more effective air flow can be maintained towards the suction holes.
[0013] In a version of this embodiment, a fan is disposed at the level of both focuses of the ellipse and the suction holes on the depression are positioned to be opposite the fans.
[0014] In another embodiment of the present invention, channels are formed such that the air blown from the blowing holes on the rear wall are directed towards the suction holes. The channels are preferably arranged symmetrically around the depression and configured to be curvedly compatible to the rotational direction of the fan. Thus, the air blown from the blowing holes, after maintaining heat transfer with the food to be cooked, proceeds from the channels by suction effect of the fan, reaching the depression and the suction holes from there. [0023] The oven (1) comprises
- an exterior cabin (2),
- an exterior cabin (2), a cooking chamber (3) positioned inside the said exterior cabin (2),
- at least one fan (6) for activating the air, situated in the cooking chamber (3),
- at least one heater (5) for heating the air, again situated in the cooking chamber (3), and
- a rear wall (4) that divides the cooking chamber (3) into two such that an enclosure is formed containing the fan (6) and the heater (5) (Figure 1)- [0024] The rear wall (4) is a plate configured to comprise suction holes (7) for aspirating air from the cooking chamber (3) and blowing holes (8), for the air activated by the fan (6) to be blown into the cooking chamber (3) (Figure 2).
[0025] The rear wall (4) furthermore comprises a depression (9) sized to also include the portion corresponding to the sweeping area of the fan (6) and extending to at least above the uppermost and below the lowermost positions wherein the tray (T) can be placed, having suction holes (7) thereon (Figure 2 and Figure 3).
[0026] In an embodiment of the present invention, the base of the depression (9) is shaped elliptically. Thus, the flow is more effectively directed towards the suction holes (7) by means of the ellipse shaped curved configuration of the depression (9) base.
[0027] In a version of this embodiment, a fan (6) each is disposed at the level of the focuses of the ellipse shaped base of the depression (9) and the suction holes (7) are distributed on the depression (9) to correspond to the areas swept by both of the fans (6).
[0028] When the oven (1) is operated, the air heated by the heater (5) is activated by the fan (6) and delivered to the front side of the cooking chamber (3) from the blowing holes (8). Here, the air contacting with the food to be baked and contributing to the cooking process is aspirated later on from the suction holes (7) to behind the rear wall (4). During aspiration, the air particularly in the upper and lower regions of the cooking chamber (3) can be aspirated more effectively due to the depression (9) extending to those regions also. During the cooking process, if a tray (T) is placed at the uppermost or the lowermost positions, these trays (T) function almost like a separator, forming a barrier between the air and the suction holes (7) above the upper tray (T) and below the lower tray (T). Since the depression (9) extends above the upper tray (T) and below the lower tray (T), a passage is formed at these points between the rear wall (4) and the tray (T) and air is activated from here towards the suction holes (7). Consequently, a homogeneous air distribution is provided in the cooking chamber (3). [0029] In another embodiment of the present invention, the rear wall (4) comprises channels (10) at the sides of the blowing holes (8) that direct the air towards the suction holes (7). The channels (10) are preferably positioned symmetrically around the depression (9) and have a curved configuration compatible to the rotational direction of the fan (6). Thus, the air passing from the blowing holes (8) to the front side of the cooking chamber (3), upon coming to the rear wall (4) after circulating inside the cooking chamber (3) such that heat transfer with the food to be cooked is maintained, proceeds from the channels (10) to reach the depression (9). And from here, the air proceeding to the suction holes (7) is again aspirated to the enclosure behind the rear wall (4).
[0030] Homogeneous air circulation is maintained in the cooking chamber (3) by means of the depression (9) disposed on the rear wall (4) utilized in the oven (1) of the present invention, thereby providing a more effective and homogeneous cooking.

Claims
1. An oven (1) that comprises - an exterior cabin (2), - a cooking chamber (3) positioned inside the said exterior cabin (2), - at least one fan (6) for activating the air, situated in the cooking chamber (3), - at least one heater (5) for heating the air, again situated in the cooking chamber (3), and - a rear wall (4) that divides the cooking chamber (3) into two, such that an enclosure is formed containing the fan (6) and the heater (5), having thereon suction holes (7) for aspirating air from the cooking chamber (3) and blowing holes (8) for the air activated by the fan (6) to be blown into the cooking chamber (3), - and characterized by a rear wall (4) comprising a depression (9) having suction holes (7) thereon, sized to include the portion corresponding to the sweeping area of the fan (6) and extending to at least above the uppermost and below the lowermost positions wherein the tray (T) can be placed.
2. An oven (1) as in Claim 1 , characterized by the depression (9) having an ellipse shaped base.
3. An oven (1) as in Claim 2, characterized by the fan (6) being disposed at each focus of the ellipse and suction holes (7) on the depression (9) distributed to correspond to the areas swept by both of the fans (6).
