Definitions
- the present invention relates to a trapped with a person to be secured fall arrester, which is arranged inhibited against an automatic downward movement on a substantially vertical safety rail or on a substantially vertical safety rope and connectable via a brake actuator with a worn by the person to be secured harness, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a fall arrester For cleaning and maintenance climbing aids are often arranged on higher structures, in particular ladders, with a safety rail, on which a fall arrester is guided displaceably or can be attached accordingly.
- the fall arrester can be connected to a harness worn by the person to be secured, so that it is secured against falling. When ascending or descending on the ladder, the fall arrester practically inevitably follows the person to be secured.
- the worn by the person to be secured harness is connected either directly or indirectly via a safety line with a brake actuator for actuating a brake or a locking device of the fall arrester. If the brake actuator is subjected to a greater force in the downward direction, which is the case for example in the event of a fall of the person to be secured, the fall arrester is necessarily locked to the rail.
- the present invention deals with the problem for a fall arrester of the generic type to provide an improved or at least another embodiment, which offers a particularly high level of functionality and thus high security.
- the invention is based on the general idea to provide in a, with a person to be secured along a safety rail or along a safety rope trapping fall arrester, two independently operable brake actuators, which the fall arrester at a downward movement along the safety rail or along the safety rope both at reliably prevent a downwardly directed force on the first brake actuator, as well as a substantially horizontal force on a second, separate brake actuator.
- the first brake actuator is held by a substantially horizontal force in its free state, in which the fall arrester in a substantially vertical direction along the safety rail or along the safety rope can be moved.
- the first and the second brake actuator are formed as a brake lever with a brake nose.
- the person to be secured is usually connected via a harness worn by it with the first brake actuator and this can only then in its free state, ie in its non-braking state, convict, provided that it exerts a substantially horizontal force on the first brake actuator.
- the person to be secured in this state may lead to a tilting of the upper body, wherein the force acting substantially horizontally on the first brake actuator force is maintained and thereby can not be excluded with certainty after moving down the fall arrester.
- This circumstance carries the second, separate brake actuator bill, which is usually connected via a normal state of dead connection with the person to be secured in the upper body region. In the dead state just mentioned, the second brake actuator is in its free state, whereby a vertical movement of the fall arrester along the safety rail or along the safety rope is not affected.
- the person to be secured is thus secured both in the event of slipping by the first brake actuation member, as well as in an only unconscious condition, by the second brake actuation member activated in this case.
- the second brake actuator also prevents unwanted tilting of the (upper) body of the secured person, for example, via a Chest or harness is connected to the fall arrester.
- the injured person thus remains thanks to the fall arrester according to the invention in an upright position.
- the second brake actuator acts as a redundant backup, which is needed only in the case when the person to be injured accidentally and still exerts a substantially horizontal force on the first brake actuator in this accident situation and thereby keeps this in its exemption.
- the second brake actuator serves only as a redundant backup and is usually not operated under normal conditions and not needed.
- the second brake member locked in a loading of the same with a downwardly directed force, the fall arrester on the safety rail or the safety rope.
- the second brake actuator supports the first brake actuator and thus a locking or braking operation, unless the injured person is not only hanging unconscious and pulling with horizontal holding force on the first brake actuator, but slipped and thereby a downwardly directed force on the first and the second Brake actuator exerts.
- the second brake operating member acts in this case brake support for the first brake actuator, whereby the braking effect achieved thereby can be strengthened.
- the first brake operating member has a first spring device, which biases this in its braking state
- the second brake actuator has a second spring means which biases this in its free state.
- the first brake operating member In the fully unloaded state, the first brake operating member is therefore in a locking position due to the first spring device, while the second brake operating member remains in an open position due to the second spring device.
- a substantially horizontal force has to be exerted by the person to be secured on the first brake operating member which overcomes the spring force of the first spring device and thus transfers the first brake operating member into its free state. Due to the biased in its braking state first brake actuator, the fall arrester is locked in a completely unloaded state with respect to its position to the safety rail or safety rope and can not accidentally slip off.
- the first brake actuator and the second brake actuator are adjacent to each other within a housing of the fall arrester, whereby on the one hand a very compact design can be achieved and on the other hand, a previously common safety rail or a previously used safety rope can be used without them (s ) would have to be modified.
- the two brake actuators can be positioned together in a slot-like recess of the housing of the fall arrester and mounted on a common pin pivotally mounted on the housing of the fall arrester.
- a separate assembly or a separate storage of the two brake actuators this can be avoided, which on the one hand, the variety of parts and the associated storage and logistics costs can be reduced and on the other hand, a rational assembly of the fall arrester according to the invention is made possible.
- a vertical safety rail 1 fixed, which can be combined with a ladder, not shown or formed as a carrier for both sides of the safety rail 1 arranged ladder rungs.
- a housing 2 of a fall arrester 3 is captively guided, for example by means of guide rollers 4, which are supported on the inside and outside of the safety rail 1, thereby enabling a smooth process of the fall arrester 3 along the safety rail 1.
- the fall arrester 3 has a principle known inhibition, shown in the form of a first brake lever 5, which is biased by a first, associated spring means 6 in its braking state.
- the first brake actuator 5 For the transfer of the first brake actuator 5 in its free state, a substantially horizontal force 8 must be exercised on this person, not shown and to be secured, which the first brake actuator 5 as shown in FIG. 1 rotated counterclockwise about the axis 7 and thereby transferred to its free state.
- its brake nose 9 moves into an outer contour of the housing 2 and thereby allows the safety device 2 to slide along the safety device 1.
- the safety rail 1 can also be designed as a safety rope.
- the person to be secured is connected via a worn by this harness with a connecting device 10 of the fall arrester 3, the latter may be formed, for example, as a self-locking snap hooks with respect to the first brake actuator 5 about two orthogonal axes 7 'and 7 "pivotally mounted is.
- a second, separate brake actuator 11 which arrests the safety device 1 or the safety cable when subjected to a horizontal force 8, the fall arrester 3.
- the second brake actuator 11 is usually connected to an upper body of the person to be secured, so that in a loss of consciousness of the person to be secured, in which usually this kinks with the upper body, a horizontally acting force 8 is exerted on the second brake actuator 11 and thereby this is transferred to its braking position.
- a horizontally acting force 8 is exerted on the second brake actuator 11 and thereby this is transferred to its braking position.
- a connection between the person to be secured and the second brake actuator 11 is de-energized, wherein a second spring means 12 ensures that the second brake actuator 11 is biased in its free state. Only at a looming tilting of the upper body of the person to be secured, the second brake actuator 11 is adjusted on the then acting on this horizontal force 8 in the braking position and thus secures the person to be secured on the one hand reliably against an unwanted crash and on the other hand before unfavorable kinking.
- the second brake actuator 11 also by means of an obliquely downward or a vertically downward acting force 8 'in its braking state are transferred.
- the second brake actuator 11 forms a redundant backup to the first brake actuator 5, so that from today's perspective, no states are conceivable in which the person to be secured would not be reliably protected from falling.
- the first brake actuator 5 and the second brake actuator 11 is pivotally mounted about the axis 7 in the housing 2 of the fall arrester 3, wherein the two spring means 6 and 12 bias the first brake actuator 5 and the second brake actuator 11 in opposite directions about the common pivot axis 7.
- the safety rail 1 - as in the Fig. 3a to 3c is shown - engagement openings 14, into which the first and / or the second brake operating member 5,11 engages in the respective braking state via the respective brake lug 9.
- the fall arrester 3 is here as well as the connecting device 10 and further essential parts preferably formed of metal and thereby extremely robust or resilient.
- the guide rollers 4 in addition to metal rollers, it is also possible to use rollers made of elastic plastic, for example made of rubber, in order to permit a more smooth adjusting movement.

Description
The present invention relates to a trapped with a person to be secured fall arrester, which is arranged inhibited against an automatic downward movement on a substantially vertical safety rail or on a substantially vertical safety rope and connectable via a brake actuator with a worn by the person to be secured harness, according to the preamble of claim 1.
For cleaning and maintenance climbing aids are often arranged on higher structures, in particular ladders, with a safety rail, on which a fall arrester is guided displaceably or can be attached accordingly. The fall arrester can be connected to a harness worn by the person to be secured, so that it is secured against falling. When ascending or descending on the ladder, the fall arrester practically inevitably follows the person to be secured. The worn by the person to be secured harness is connected either directly or indirectly via a safety line with a brake actuator for actuating a brake or a locking device of the fall arrester. If the brake actuator is subjected to a greater force in the downward direction, which is the case for example in the event of a fall of the person to be secured, the fall arrester is necessarily locked to the rail.

In conventional fall arresters, however, dangerous situations can occur, for example in the case of unconscious persons who tip over with their upper bodies and in this tilted state hold the brake operating member in its free state.
The present invention deals with the problem for a fall arrester of the generic type to provide an improved or at least another embodiment, which offers a particularly high level of functionality and thus high security.
This object is solved by the subject matter of the independent claim, advantageous embodiments are the subject of the dependent claims.
The invention is based on the general idea to provide in a, with a person to be secured along a safety rail or along a safety rope trapping fall arrester, two independently operable brake actuators, which the fall arrester at a downward movement along the safety rail or along the safety rope both at reliably prevent a downwardly directed force on the first brake actuator, as well as a substantially horizontal force on a second, separate brake actuator. The first brake actuator is held by a substantially horizontal force in its free state, in which the fall arrester in a substantially vertical direction along the safety rail or along the safety rope can be moved. If the person to be secured now falls and causes a downward force on the first brake operating member, then this is moved with a brake nose against the safety rail or against the safety cable and jammed, which causes a further downward movement the fall arrester along the safety rail or along the rope can be reliably prevented. The first and the second brake actuator are formed as a brake lever with a brake nose. The person to be secured is usually connected via a harness worn by it with the first brake actuator and this can only then in its free state, ie in its non-braking state, convict, provided that it exerts a substantially horizontal force on the first brake actuator. If the person to be secured in this state, however, fainting, it may lead to a tilting of the upper body, wherein the force acting substantially horizontally on the first brake actuator force is maintained and thereby can not be excluded with certainty after moving down the fall arrester. This circumstance carries the second, separate brake actuator bill, which is usually connected via a normal state of dead connection with the person to be secured in the upper body region. In the dead state just mentioned, the second brake actuator is in its free state, whereby a vertical movement of the fall arrester along the safety rail or along the safety rope is not affected. But tilts the upper body of the person to be secured, for example, because this is unconscious, so learns the link between the person to be secured and the second brake actuator a tensile stress, which transfers the second brake actuator in its braking position and thereby prevents accidental slipping down of the fall arrester. With the fall arrester according to the invention, the person to be secured is thus secured both in the event of slipping by the first brake actuation member, as well as in an only unconscious condition, by the second brake actuation member activated in this case. In this case, the second brake actuator also prevents unwanted tilting of the (upper) body of the secured person, for example, via a Chest or harness is connected to the fall arrester. As a result, in particular a disadvantageous and dangerous Abknicklage is reliably avoided for the injured person. The injured person thus remains thanks to the fall arrester according to the invention in an upright position. The second brake actuator acts as a redundant backup, which is needed only in the case when the person to be injured accidentally and still exerts a substantially horizontal force on the first brake actuator in this accident situation and thereby keeps this in its exemption. With the fall arrester according to the invention, therefore, no situations are conceivable in which the person to be secured can not be effectively prevented from an unintentional rapid downward movement, that is to say from falling. The second brake actuator serves only as a redundant backup and is usually not operated under normal conditions and not needed.
In an advantageous development of the solution according to the invention, the second brake member locked in a loading of the same with a downwardly directed force, the fall arrester on the safety rail or the safety rope. Thus, the second brake actuator supports the first brake actuator and thus a locking or braking operation, unless the injured person is not only hanging unconscious and pulling with horizontal holding force on the first brake actuator, but slipped and thereby a downwardly directed force on the first and the second Brake actuator exerts. The second brake operating member acts in this case brake support for the first brake actuator, whereby the braking effect achieved thereby can be strengthened.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the solution according to the invention, the first brake operating member has a first spring device, which biases this in its braking state, while the second brake actuator has a second spring means which biases this in its free state. In the fully unloaded state, the first brake operating member is therefore in a locking position due to the first spring device, while the second brake operating member remains in an open position due to the second spring device. For moving the fall arrester along the safety rail or along the safety rope, a substantially horizontal force has to be exerted by the person to be secured on the first brake operating member which overcomes the spring force of the first spring device and thus transfers the first brake operating member into its free state. Due to the biased in its braking state first brake actuator, the fall arrester is locked in a completely unloaded state with respect to its position to the safety rail or safety rope and can not accidentally slip off.
Suitably, the first brake actuator and the second brake actuator are adjacent to each other within a housing of the fall arrester, whereby on the one hand a very compact design can be achieved and on the other hand, a previously common safety rail or a previously used safety rope can be used without them (s ) would have to be modified. At the same time simplifies the assembly of the fall arrester according to the invention, since the two brake actuators can be positioned together in a slot-like recess of the housing of the fall arrester and mounted on a common pin pivotally mounted on the housing of the fall arrester. A separate assembly or a separate storage of the two brake actuators, this can be avoided, which on the one hand, the variety of parts and the associated storage and logistics costs can be reduced and on the other hand, a rational assembly of the fall arrester according to the invention is made possible.

The
