Description

10.The invention relates to an electrical cable according to the preamble of patent claim 1 and to a method and a device for producing an electrical cable according to claims 6 and 10, respectively.

Such an electrical cable comprises an inner conductor arrangement having one or more elongated electrical conductors and an (insulating) outer sheath which encloses the inner conductor arrangement, and an electrical shield of the cable, which surrounds the conductor arrangement in cross-section annularly and which, in the radial direction. ie perpendicular to the direction of extension of the inner conductor arrangement - viewed between the inner conductor arrangement and the outer sheath of the cable. The individual electrical line (s) of the inner conductor arrangement are advantageously provided in each case with an electrically insulating jacket in order to avoid electrical contact between the individual conductors of the inner conductor arrangement with each other and with the electrical shield of the cable.

In such shielded electrical cables, it is known, the electric screen at one end portion of the cable, on which, for example, an electrical connector is to be provided to flip out or turn over that an outer portion of the screen on the (the inner conductor assembly facing away ) Extends outside the outer sheath of the cable so as to be spaced along the radial direction from the main portion of the electric screen extending between the inner conductor assembly and the outer sheath. The outer sheath of the cable can in this end portion, in which the electrical shield of the cable is folded outwards, have a support sleeve, along which a part of the outwardly folded portion of the screen extends and to which in the axial direction, ie in Extension direction of the conductor arrangement, a conventional, consisting of a soft elastic or flexible material insulating jacket of the outer sheath of the cable connects.

It can be used to fix the arrangement on those end portion of the outer shell of the cable, on which extends the outwardly folded portion of the electric screen of the cable, a fixing sleeve, for. B. in the form of a crimp sleeve, which encloses the outer portion of the electric screen and holds on the outside of the shell of the cable. Such an electrical cable is for example in the EP 0 694 989 A2 described.

EP 1246300 discloses an electrical cable according to the preamble of claim 1, the corresponding method of claim 6 and a device to the manufacturer of the cable.

If the electric shield of the cable is made of a mesh of a plurality of individual strands in a known manner, it may turn outwards after a portion of the electric shield has been folded over, so that this portion acts as an outer portion of the shield on the outside (outer surface) of the outer shell the cable runs, come to an undefined setting up individual strands of the screen, resulting in further processing steps, such. As the application of an outer fixing sleeve, difficult and can lead to optical defects or malfunction as a result. Furthermore, there is a risk of injury to undefined laid strands of a braided shield from the point of view of occupational safety.

The invention is based on the problem to provide an electrical cable of the type mentioned that is characterized by a defined positioning of an outwardly folded portion of the electric screen of the cable. Furthermore, a method and an apparatus are to be specified in order to produce such an improved electrical cable.

This problem is solved with respect to the electric cable by the features of claim 1.

Danach ist der nach außen umgelegte Teilbereich des elektrischen Schirmes des Kabels derart in die äußere Hülle des Kabels eingearbeitet, dass der nach außen umgelegte Teilbereich des elektrischen Schirmes zumindest abschnittsweise in der äußeren Hülle des elektrischen Kabels verläuft (dabei aber von dem innen liegenden Hauptbereich des elektrischen Schirmes möglichst in radialer Richtung beabstandet ist).Thereafter, the outwardly folded portion of the electric screen of the cable is incorporated in such a way in the outer shell of the cable that the outwardly folded portion of the electric screen extends at least partially in the outer shell of the electric cable (However, it is spaced as far as possible from the inner main region of the electric screen in the radial direction).

Thereby, a defined positioning of the outwardly folded portion of the electric screen of the cable to the outer shell of that cable can be achieved, so that there are no undefined outwardly projecting individual strands of the screen in a braided electrical screen.

For this purpose, it can be provided, in particular, that the electrical screen of the cable has been pressed under pressure into a section of the outer sheath of the cable, which has previously been melted by heating. In other words, the outer sheath of the cable in a section is brought into a (viscous) state by heating, which allows the outwardly folded portion of the electrical shield of the cable to be pushed into that section of the sheath.

If, in addition to a jacket which can be converted into a (viscous) melt state by heating, the outer sheath of the cable has a support sleeve adjoining thereon in the axial direction, which serves to support the portion of the electric screen folded outwards, then the outwardly directed portion of the sheath extends electric screen in the axial direction, d. H. along the direction of extension of the electric cable, advantageously so far that it extends beyond that support sleeve to the elastic sheath of the outer sheath into which the outer portion of the electric shield is preferably to be incorporated.

Outwardly, the (end) portion of the electrical cable, which is provided with the folded-out and incorporated into the outer shell of the cable portion of the electric screen, in turn, by a fixing sleeve, for. B. in the form of a crimp sleeve, be enclosed.

A method for producing an electrical conductor with a defined positioned outwardly folded portion of the electric screen is characterized by the features of claim 6.

Thereafter, provision is made, in particular, to incorporate the portion of the electric shield of the cable which has been turned outwards at least in sections into the outer sheath of the cable, preferably by pressing in, after the outer sheath of the cable has been brought into a (viscous) melted state by heating.

Advantageous embodiments of the method are specified in the dependent of claim 6 claims.

An apparatus for carrying out the aforementioned method for producing an electrical cable, in which an outwardly folded portion of the electric screen is incorporated in the outer sheath of the cable, comprises one or more movable tools, which form an opening in a first position a (end) portion of the electric cable provided with an outwardly folded portion of the electric screen is insertable, and after insertion of said (end) portion of the cable are movable to a second position in which they outwardly Push folded portion of the electrical shield of the cable in the outer jacket of the cable.

Concretely, in a first position, the movable tool or tools can define an aperture having a first cross-section into which the (end) portion of the cable provided with the portion of the electric screen folded outwards can be inserted and according to the method of FIG the second position forming an opening with a second, smaller cross section, namely a cross section which is smaller than the cross section of the cable measured to the outside of the outer sheath of the cable, so that in the transfer of the tool or tools from the first in the second position of the outward folded portion of the electric screen is pressed into the outer shell of the cable.

The second cross section of the opening should at the same time be larger than the cross section of the space enclosed by the inside of the outer sheath of the cable, so that the outwardly folded portion of the electric screen of the cable is not pressed into the interior of the cable enclosed by the outer sheath but rather runs in that outer shell.

Furthermore, a heating device is advantageously provided, with which the outer shell of the cable is heated at that (end) section and converted into a (viscous) melt state into which the outwardly folded portion of the electric screen is to be incorporated.

Figures 1 and 1A shows a schematic representation of an electrical cable with an (along an extension direction E) elongated inner conductor assembly 1, comprising a plurality of longitudinally extending electrical conductors 11, 12, 13, 14, each provided in known manner with an electrically insulating jacket, so that the individual conductors 11, 12, 13, 14 of the conductor arrangement 1 are electrically insulated from one another.

The inner conductor arrangement 1 is surrounded by an electrical screen 2, formed by a screen braid of a plurality of electrically conductive strands, which (with a main area 20) the inner conductor arrangement 1 surrounds annularly in cross-section. To the electrical screen 2 of the cable or more precisely to the main region 20 connects to the outside an (insulating) outer shell 3, which encloses both the inner conductor assembly 1 and the electric screen 2 and its main region 20. Thus, the electrical screen 2 extends with its main portion 20 between the inner conductor assembly 1 and the outer shell 3 of the cable. In other words, follow in the electrical cable, in the radial direction R from the inside to the outside, a conductor assembly 1, a main portion 20 of an electric umbrella 2 and an outer shell 3 to each other.

The outer sheath 3 of the cable is predominantly formed by a (soft) elastic or flexible sheath 30 (eg made of PVC or PUR), to which at an axial end portion of the cable a dimensionally stable support sleeve 35 connects, for example, as a crimp sleeve may be applied by crimping on the inner conductor assembly 1.

An in Figure 1A right side end portion of the cable is to be provided with a connector, via which the electrical cable can be connected to an associated electrical assembly. For this purpose, there are the electrical conductors 11, 12, 13, 14 of the inner conductor assembly 1 (beyond the support sleeve 35) freed from the outer shell 3, to make electrical contact with the conductors 11, 12, 13, 14 with connector elements provided for this purpose of a connector enable.

Somit erstreckt sich jener außen liegende Teilbereich 25 des elektrischen Schirmes 2 bis zu dem elastischen bzw. flexiblen isolierenden Mantel 30 der äußeren Hülle 3.Furthermore, at each end portion of the cable, a portion 25 (end portion) of the electric screen 2 of the cable (180 °) folded out or turned over, so that he - in contrast to the main area 20 of the electric screen 2 - no longer between the Inner conductor assembly 1 and the outer shell 3 of the cable extends, but rather on the (the inner conductor assembly 1 facing away) outside 31 of the outer shell 3. In this case, the outer portion 25 of the electric screen 2 extends with a first portion 25a on the outside the support sleeve 35 and with an adjoining second portion 25b on the outer side 31 of the jacket 30 of the outer shell 3. In other words, the electric screen 2 of the cable, with a main portion 20 between the inner conductor assembly 1 and the outer Shell 3 of the cable along its extension direction E extends with its one end portion of the screen 2 forming portion 25 at the right end portion of the cable so folded out or turned over that that portion 25 along the direction of extension E of the cable runs a bit back, and indeed beyond the support sleeve 35 of the outer shell 3 addition. In this case, the screen 2 surrounds the inner conductor arrangement 1 in cross-section annular. Thus, that outer portion 25 of the electric screen 2 extends to the elastic or flexible insulating jacket 30 of the outer shell. 3

About that with the outside, folded portion 25 of the electric screen 2 provided end portion of the cable can in the usual way an outer fixing, z. B. in the form of another crimping sleeve can be arranged.

In order to prevent the individual strands of the braiding 2 forming the electric screen 2 from protruding undetached after folding over or turning over a partial area 25 of the electric screen 2, it is provided that those outer partial area 25 of the electric screen 2 are partially inserted into the outer shell 3, more accurately incorporate into the elastic or flexible jacket 30 of the shell 3 that that portion 25 of the electric screen 2 sections within that shell 30 runs. In particular, the free ends 25b extend within the jacket 30. Accordingly, the individual strands of the braid forming the electrical shield 2 extend in the wall of the jacket 30, as in FIG Figure 1 B shown schematically in a cross section through the electrical cable.

The folded, outer portion 25 of the electric screen 2 or more precisely the corresponding braid forming strands are only so far incorporated into the shell 30 of the outer shell 3, that the portion 25 of the electric screen 2 as possible not in the outer shell 3 enclosed interior I of the cable protrudes, in which yes the main area 20 of the electric screen 2 and continue to run the inner conductor assembly 1. D. h., The incorporated in the shell 30 of the outer shell 3 portion 25 of the electric screen 2 extends within the annular peripheral wall of the shell 30 but not through this or the inside 32 through to the interior I of the cable, the is surrounded by just that jacket 30. As a result, the partial region 25 of the electric screen 2 incorporated in the casing 30 of the outer casing 3 is spaced, in particular in the radial direction, from the inner main region 20 of the electric screen 2.

As with a synopsis of Figures 1A and 2A becomes clear, comprises the tool with which the outwardly folded portion 25 of the electric screen 2 in the outer shell 3 and the jacket 30 of the cable is einarbeitbar, two tool parts W1, W2, which along a travel direction V relative to each other are movable ( FIG. 2A ). Each of the two tool parts W1, W2 has a receptacle A1, A2 on a front side facing the respective other tool part W2, W1; and the two recordings A1, A2 together form an opening O for the electrical cable to be processed.

A.In the in FIG. 2A In the first state in which the two tool parts W1, W2 assume a first relative position to one another along the travel direction V, the opening O formed by the two receiving regions A1, A2 has such a large cross-section that the electrical cable can be inserted therein until it End portion provided with the folded portion 25 of the electric screen 2 is located in that opening O between the receiving portions A1, A2 of the two tools W1, W2. In other words, that is Cross-section of the opening O in the first state of the tool, in which the receiving areas A1, A2 of the two tools W1, W2 have a first relative position to each other along the travel axis V, greater than the provided with the outwardly folded portion 25 of the electric screen 2 end portion of the electric cable, compare in particular Figure 1 A ,

After the arrangement of the outwardly folded portion 25 of the electric screen 2 provided end portion of the cable in the opening O between the two tool parts W1, W2 these along the direction of travel V, which coincides with the radial R of the electrical cable to be processed, to each other too moved. In this case, the cross section of the opening O formed between the two receiving areas A1, A2 decreases, cf. FIG. 2B , In this case, the receiving areas A1, A2 formed by forming jaws of the tool parts W1, W2 initially collect the shielding strands at the free end 25b of the electric screen 2 and position them parallel to the outside 31 of the mantle 30. In a further movement of the tool parts W1, W2 then the the outer side 31 of the outer shell 3 and the shell 30 extending portion 25 of the electric screen 2 in the shell 3 or more precisely the shell 30 incorporated.

However, this does not take place solely under the pressure of the tool parts W1, W2 moving towards one another, but in addition to transferring the section of the jacket 30 covered by the outwardly folded partial region 25 of the electric screen 2 into a melt state in which the receiving regions A1, A2 the tool parts W1, W2 are heated accordingly. For this purpose, corresponding heating wires or other heating means may be provided at the receiving areas A1, A2, e.g. are electrically operated.

After the folded-out portion 25 of the electric screen 2 or more precisely the jacket 30 of the outer shell 3 covering free end 25b by moving together of the tool parts W1, W2 in the in FIG. 2B shown second relative position with simultaneous heating of the jacket 30 has been pressed into this and the jacket 30 has then cooled again, the tool is opened again; ie, the tool parts W1, W2 are again in the in FIG. 2A transferred shown first state. In this, the two tool parts W1, W2 at such a distance from each other that the electrical cable can be easily removed from the tool.

The cable then has in cross-section in the region of its jacket 30, which was covered by the outwardly folded portion 25 of the electric screen 2, which in FIG. 1B shown configuration. D. h., In this section of the jacket 30 extend within the wall formed by those sheath 30, the individual strands of the braid, which form the free end 25 b of the electric screen 2.

Specifically, in the present embodiment, the receiving areas A1, A2 of the tool parts W1, W2 form in their second relative position, as in FIG FIG. 2B illustrated, a circular opening O, whose inner diameter is smaller than the outer diameter of the electrical cable to be processed on the outer side 31 of the jacket 30 and at the same time greater than the inner diameter of the electrical cable to be processed on the inner side facing the inner space 32 of the jacket 30th As a result, the individual strands of the free end 25b of the electric screen 2 according to Figure 1 B introduced into the wall of the viscous molten shell 30, but without being transferred to the interior I of the cable.

B. bei 0.6 mm.The exact ratio between the cross section (inner diameter) of the opening O in the second, closed state of the tool parts W1, W2 and the outer diameter of the cable on the outer side 31 of the jacket 30 is in each case based on the geometric configuration of the cable and on the basis of the used To identify materials. Typical wall thicknesses of the shell 30 are of the order of 1 mm, z. B. at 0.6 mm.

Preferably, the receiving areas A1, A2 of the tools W1, W2 can be heated separately from each other, in particular using a (thermally) controlled heating device. The amount of heat to be introduced by heating the receiving areas A1, A2 in the shell 3 of the cable to be processed is to be chosen so that the material of the shell 30 is melted and thereby advantageously merges into a viscous state, the pressing of the free end 25 of the electric Umbrella 2 in the jacket 30 of the cable allows. For this purpose, in addition to the temperature and the heating time to set suitable.

In this case, the tool parts W1, W2 remain with their receiving areas A1, A2 during a sufficiently long residence time in the in FIG. 2B shown closed position to form after pressing the free end 25b of the electric screen 2 in the jacket 30 of the cable a defined circular contour on the (fused) outer side 31 of the shell 30 and the depressed into the shell 30 portion 25b of the electric screen. 2 or to keep its individual strands within the jacket 30 until the jacket 30 has cooled sufficiently.

In the FIGS. 3A to 3C is a modification of the arrangement FIG. 2A shown in the open state, ie in the tool can in the in the FIGS. 3A to 3C In the first state shown, an electrical cable to be processed is introduced, in particular a (end) section of a cable provided with a folded outer section 25 of the electric screen 2.

Unlike the arrangement FIG. 2A has that in the FIGS. 3A to 3C Tool shown three mutually movable tool parts W1, W2, W3, which are mounted on a common carrier T movable (movable). As in the case of in FIG. 2A However, the arrangement shown also have the tool parts W1, W2, W3 from the FIGS. 3A to 3C each have a receiving area A1, A2 and A3, wherein the receiving areas A1, A2, A3 in the in the FIGS. 3A to 3C shown opened state of the tool defining an opening O, whose cross-section is sufficiently large, to be able to introduce a provided with a folded, outer portion 25 of the electric screen 2 (end) portion of a cable to be machined in that opening.

To each of the tool parts W1, W2, W3 (in the form of slides), an electrical line L1, L2, L3 is also connected in order to be able to supply the respective tool part with electrical energy for operation of a heating device, which heats the receiving area A1, A2, A3 of the respective tool part W1, W2, W3 allows.

According to the transition from the FIGS. 3A and 3B to the FIGS. 4A and 4B the tool parts W1, W2, W3 can be moved along their respective travel direction V1, V2, V3 into a second, closed state in such a way that they define with their receiving regions A1, A2, A3 an opening O whose inner diameter is smaller than the outer diameter of the Sheath 30 of the cable to be processed herein, cf. Figure 1 A , The directions of movement V1, V2, V3 of the tool parts W1, W2, W3 coincide with the radial direction R of an intended in the opening O of the tool electrical cable together.

By moving the tool parts W1, W2, W3 in the in the FIGS. 4A and 4B shown second, closed position with simultaneous heating of the receiving areas A1, A2, A3 of the tool parts, the jacket 30 of the positioned in the opening O of the tool electric cable is melted and at the same time on the outside 31 of the jacket 30 extending portion 25b of the portion 25 of the electrical shield 2 incorporated in the fused portion of the shell 30 or pressed.

The tool parts W1, W2, W3 then dwell sufficiently long in the in the FIGS. 4A and 4B shown closed position to an annular To ensure outer contour of the previously fused portion of the shell 30 and to keep the depressed in that shell 30 portion 25 b of the folded portion 25 of the electric screen 2 within the defined by the shell 30 wall.

If the material of the shell 30 after a certain residence time of the tool in the in the FIGS. 4A and 4B As shown in the closed state is sufficiently far cool, the tool is opened by the tool parts W1, W2, W3 back into the in the FIGS. 3A and 3B shown open position to be transferred. The dwell time of the tool parts W1, W2, W3 in the closed state can on the one hand be adjusted in advance and thus predefinable or alternatively depending on a temperature measurement on the jacket 30 of the electrical conductor to be processed only during the processing itself.

In summary, the above-described method for producing an electric cable and the devices provided for carrying out this method are characterized in particular by the following:

The electrical cable to be processed is positioned with an (end) section, on which it is provided with an outwardly folded portion of its electric screen, in an opening provided therefor of a tool comprising mutually movable tool parts.

By moving the tool parts relative to one another, the cross-section of the opening is reduced, wherein first the strands of the turned over portion of the electric screen are collected and positioned on the outside of the jacket of the conductor to be processed.

At the same time, the tool parts are heated, so that upon impact of the tool parts on the jacket of the conductor to be machined a melting of the shell takes place and this merges into a viscous state. This allows an impression of the folded, outer portion of the electrical screen in the jacket, so that that portion of the electric screen or the strands of a shield braid forming this portion extend within the shell.

The tool parts are then held in the closed position for a certain period of time in order to impose a defined shape on the section of the jacket of the electrical conductor to be machined in the viscous melting region and to hold the braid braid pressed into the jacket inside the jacket. (Optionally, the tool may be slightly reopened before the viscous shell molding step, depending on the outer diameter of the cable in the previously fused section.)

After a sufficient cooling of the jacket, the tool is opened by moving the tool parts and the cable can be removed.

Finally, an outer fixing sleeve can also be applied to the end section of the cable in which the portion of the electric screen folded outwards has been pressed into the jacket of the cable.
