Description

Description
Title of Invention: A VEHICLE RECORDING AND BILLING
SYSTEM
[ 1 ] Field of the Invention
[2] The present invention relates to a vehicle recording and billing system which is used in fuel stations during fuel delivery to vehicles and which enables automatic transfer of the vehicle information to the pump-cash register.
[3] Prior Art
[4] Payment recording devices (cash register) functioning in integration with the fuel pumps are used in order to control the sales carried out in the fuel stations. In the current applications, information (e.g. license plate number, registration information) related to the vehicle for which fuel will be purchased is input to the device by the employees of the station. After the information is entered, the cash register gives an authorization for the filling and filling is carried out. After filling is completed, the payment recording device gives an automatic slip related to the transaction. This way, a slip is provided for all fuel sales and sales are kept under control.
[5] Various problems arise in the case of manual entry (e.g. by means of the keypad) of vehicle information to the device. Entry of the information by the station employees leads to loss of time and labor. Additionally, the possibility of a faulty entry increases and in the case that the vehicle information is not entered correctly, errors occur in the sales records. As a result of this, sales control can not be performed effectively.
[6] The Chinese patent document No. CN 1590174, in the state of the art, discloses an application wherein filling fuel into the vehicle and payments are monitored by the help of mobile phones. The information related to the bank card with which the customer will make the payment is transferred to the station, then the payment information is sent from the station to the bank center, and finally the payment information is sent from the bank to the mobile phone of a responsible person. The transaction is completed upon confirming the information that arrives to the mobile phone.
[7] The United States patent document No. US2006282332, in the state of the art, discloses a method wherein a wireless sales receipt is transmitted from the cash register to a personal electronic device.
[8] In the state of the art applications, there are various solutions for monitoring the sales transactions and for providing the vehicle information at the fuel station. But the said applications do not provide practical solutions to the vehicle owners or fuel station employees. [9] Summary of the Invention
[10] The objective of the present invention is to provide a vehicle recording and billing system which enables the sales transaction at the fuel stations to be carried out fast and in a controlled manner.
[11] Another objective of the invention is to provide a vehicle recording and billing system which enables the sales recording and monitoring at the fuel stations to be performed free of errors.
[12] A further objective of the invention is to provide a vehicle recording and billing system which can function in harmony with the pump-cash register apparatuses.
[13] The vehicle recording and billing system, which is realized to fulfill the objective of the present invention and defined in Claim 1 and in its dependent claims, is developed to be used in fuel stations. By means of the said system, the identity cards including the vehicle information are read from the vehicles by the readers and a wireless data transmission is realized to the pump-cash register apparatuses which are developed specifically for fuel stations. Owing to the system of the invention which comprises pump-cash registers and vehicle recognition apparatuses all together, wireless data transfer is ensured and an effective solution is provided for the problems in the related technical field. The system comprises a tag, which includes the vehicle information and which is provided on the vehicle, a reader terminal, which reads the information provided in the tag and which transfers the said information to the pump-cash register apparatuses in a wireless manner; and a payment recording device (cash register), which automatically produces a sales document (slip, invoice, etc.) after the sales is confirmed by using the information coming from the reader. The wireless data transfer between the reader and the payment recording device is provided by Zigbee standard and the vehicle information transmitted by the reader is printed on the sales slips by the payment recording device. With the use of the vehicle recording and billing system, information related to the vehicle that comes to the fuel station is retrieved in a very short time period and faultlessly; vehicles into which are delivered fuel can be followed up easily; and all fuel sales are recorded.
[14] Detailed Description of the Invention
[15] The vehicle recording and billing system realized to fulfill the objective of the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying figures in which,
[16] Figure 1 is the representative view of the vehicle recording and billing system.
[17] Figure 2 is the schematic view of the vehicle recording and billing system.
[18] The components shown in the figures are numbered as follows:
[19] 1. System
[20] 2. Tag
[21] 3. Reader [22] 4. Cash register
[23] 5. Receiver module
[24] 6, 7. Zigbee module
[25] 8. Microprocessor
[26] 9. Printer
[27] The inventive system (1) comprises a tag (2) which is fixed on the vehicle (A) and includes information related to the vehicle (A); a reader (3) having a receiver module
