Description
Lifting transportation device
The invention relates to a lifting transportation device, the purpose of which is particularly handling of load preferably by load platforms, such as RoRo, terminal, industrial cassettes and/or the like, and, which comprises a pulling device, equipped with an essentially built-in lifting transportation rear part or that is to be coupled with a separate lifting transportation carriage, and power transmission means for power transmission for driving and for power transmission for lifting of the lifting transportation rear part or carriage. The lifting power transmission is achieved by means of a first actuator arrangement, being in connection with a support surface of a lifting transportation rear part or carriage and/or in connection with at least one wheel assembly existing essentially underneath the above, by means of which a ground clearance of the lifting transportation rear part or carriage can be changed by altering the position of the support surface and/or the wheel assembly in respect with the frame of the lifting transportation device in a direction of height. The lifting transportation device is equipped with a cabin in order to enable its manual steering, which cabin is arranged moveable essentially in a crosswise direction of the lifting transportation device in order to improve the operator's visibility.
In the purpose described above e.g. in ports or industrial environments it is nowadays known to use pulling devices, either being equipped with a built-in lifting transportation rear part, the devices being steerable manually or automatically like so called AGV (Automatic Guided Vehicle) -devices, or devices to be coupled with separate lifting transportation carriages by a so called fifth wheel arrangement. This kind of lifting transportation devices have typically
hydrostatically operated actuators for the lifting of load existing on the lifting transportation rear part or carriage. The actuators being used typically comprise actuator organs in connection with wheel assemblies of the lifting transportation rear part or carriage and/or in connection with an articulation assembly in the fifth wheel arrangement of a separate pulling device, such as hydraulic cylinder arrangements in order to change the ground clearance of the lifting transportation rear part or carriage.
The load platforms being used usually in this context for their part have so called lower tunnels, in which the lifting transportation rear part or carriage can be driven when being lowered. The height of the tunnel in the load platform depends on the type of the cassette being used at any given time, whereby the tunnel height of cassettes being used particularly in maritime operations, is minimized. In figure 2 is shown a typical load platform, the dimensions of which vary depending of its operational purpose typically within the following limits:
- Ll: 2133 mm - 2700 mm, - L2: 2359 mm - 3000 mm,
- a: 50° - 60° and
- h: 703 mm - 1000 mm.
It is also possible to use as load platforms, instead of structures of so called cassette type being described above, separate or fixed trestle assemblies of the type shown in figure 2.
It is nowadays known to use a partly moveable cabin in connection with the type of lifting transportation devices described above particularly in order to improve the operator's visibility. At present this kind of solutions have, however, being carried out
nonsymmetrically, by moving the cabin to one side of the lifting transportation device only. This kind of arrangements do not either enable a direct visibility of the operator by the side of the lifting transportation device on both sides thereof that means e.g. according to figures Ia, Ib, Id, 3b and 3c backwards by the outer sides u of a lifting transportation device or by a container K existing on a lifting transportation rear part or carriage thereof.
It is an aim of the lifting transportation device according to the present invention to achieve a decisive improvement in the problems described and thus to raise essentially the level of prior art. In order to carry out this aim, the lifting transportation device according to the invention is mainly characterized by what has been defined in the characterizing part of the independent claim related thereto .
As the most important advantages of the lifting transportation device according to the invention may be mentioned simplicity and efficiency of constructions enabled by the same as well as of its use, in addition to which by virtue thereof controllability e.g. of a sidewardly bending lifting transportation device combination or an integrated lifting transportation device can be significantly improved e.g. in load handling in port or terminal use etc. By enabling the operator's direct visibility e.g. backwards by side or
"externally" on both sides of the lifting transportation device significant improvement of steerability and safety is furthermore made possible by making the cabin rotateable around its vertical axis. This kind of implementation enables thus e.g. the operator's direct visibility backwards without the need for mirrors, which always give a twisted impression of the reality in practice. It is furthermore possible to
utilize approach detectors in the lifting transportation device according to the invention, thanks to which the operator is enable to get information also of obstacles existing close by the cabin behind the operator during a steering situation.
Other advantageous embodiments of the lifting transportation device according to the invention have been presented in the dependent claims related thereto.
In the following description the invention is being illustrated in detail with reference to the appended drawings, in which
in figures Ia - Id is shown an advantageous embodiment of the lifting transportation device according to the invention as a front view, as a view from above, as perspective view and as a series of figures,
in figure 2 is shown a typical load platform to be used in connection with the lifting transportation device according to the invention and a frame assembly, being an alternative to the above, and
in figures 3a, 3b and 3c are shown some advantageous implementations being exploited in the lifting transportation device according to the invention as a perspective view, as a view from above and as a side view.
The invention relates to a lifting transportation device, the purpose of which is particularly handling of load advantageously by load platforms 1, such as
RoRo, terminal, industrial cassettes and/or the like, and, which comprises a pulling device 2, equipped with an essentially built-in lifting transportation rear part 2a or that is to be coupled with a separate lifting transportation carriage 2a, and power transmission means for power transmission for driving and for power transmission for lifting of the lifting transportation rear part or carriage, whereby the lifting power transmission is achieved by means of a first actuator arrangement 4, being in connection with a support surface of the lifting transportation rear part or carriage and/or in connection with at least one wheel assembly 3 existing essentially underneath the above, by means of which a ground clearance of the lifting transportation rear part or carriage can be changed by altering a position of the support surface and/or the wheel assembly in respect with a frame R of the lifting transportation device in a direction h of height. The lifting transportation device is equipped with a cabin 2b in order to enable its manual steering, which cabin is arranged moveable essentially in a crosswise direction p of the lifting transportation device. The lifting transportation device is provided with movement means 5 in order to move the cabin 2b to both sides in relation to the lifting transportation device's center line s particularly in order to improve operator's direct visibility by the sides of the lifting transportation device on both sides thereof.
As an advantageous embodiment of the lifting transportation device according to the invention, the movement means 5 are arranged e.g. with reference to figure 3a by a slide-roller rail assembly 5b or like, which enables advantageously a symmetrical movement of the cabin with respect to the center line s and in which the cabin 2b is coupled moveably.
As an alternative embodiment with respect to the one described above particularly with reference to figures Ib - Id, the movement means 5 are arranged by an articulated boom assembly 5a, connecting the cabin 2b to the frame R of the lifting transportation device.
Furthermore as an advantageous embodiment particularly with reference to figures Ic, Id, 3a and 3b, the lifting transportation device's cabin 2b and/or control units and a seat therein are arranged rotatable w around an axis x in its direction of height. The rotation w of the cabin 2b is arranged to take place e.g. in one rotation direction limited to 180° enabling the operator's frontal direction to be changed e.g. in the opposite passage directions, whereby hydraulical and electrical coupling between the cabin 2b and the rest of the lifting transportation device structures particularly with ordinary conductors, cables and pipings etc is enabled without a need for so called rotating couplings.
As a further advantageous embodiment , the movement means 5 comprise control means in order to enable sidewise movement p and/or rotation movement w of the cabin 2b by measures of the operator carried out by shortcut choices, whereby a shortcut choosing organs enable direct selection of positions of the cabin, being chosen e.g. beforehand or being separately adjusted by the operator.
Furthermore as an advantageous embodiment particularly with reference to figures 3a and 3b, in connection with the cabin 2b there is arranged a warning assembly 6, such as one or a multitude of approach detectors or like, which detectors are placed advantageously in upper and lower edges at each of the cabin's corner.
Furthermore as an advantageous embodiment particularly with reference to figure 3c, in a so called built-in lifting transportation device, being carried without so called main joint, one or several successive wheel assemblies 3 in a longitudinal direction s at an end of the frame R of the lifting transportation device adjacent to the pulling device 2, are coupled with the frame R of the lifting transportation device by support means, such as a spring, a swaged link arrangement and/or like, which enable vertical tilting z of the front end I of the frame R in relation to the back part II of the lifting transportation device. In this context a joint arrangement N has been exploited in the frame R of the lifting transportation device, which enables bending of the frame in an essentially longitudinal vertical plane in order to increase the ground clearance of the lifting transportation rear part 2a at its end by the front end I of the lifting transportation rear part, whereby lifting of its back part II takes place in an ordinary manner by means of lifting organs e.g. existing in connection with the wheel assemblies 3.
It is clear that the invention is not limited to the embodiments shown or described above, but instead it can be modified within the limits of the ground idea of the invention according to the operating purposes and embodiments at any given time within the limits defined by the enclosed claims. So, it is first of all clear that the lifting transportation device according to the invention can be exploited in environments concerning e.g. steel, paper or concrete industry for intermediate storing and further processing of products, whereby the lifting transportation devices being utilized can have e.g. a bigger or smaller amount of wheel assemblies than in the solutions presented in the enclosed drawings, because depending on the nature of the operation the load to be handled can vary typically
from about 30 tons up to 150 tons. On the other hand it is thus possible to carry out increment of the ground, clearance of the lifting transportation rear part instead of lifting mechanisms existing in connection with the wheel assemblies or in addition thereto by means of a lifting arrangement, being connected e.g. with the frame of the lifting transportation device, which moves a.- support surface on the lifting transportation rear part in a direction of height in relation to the frame.
