Definitions

  • the invention relates to a ski, in particular an alpine ski, comprising means for damping vibrations.
  • skis In snow behavior, skis are subjected to impacts or bending stresses more or less prolonged causing vibrations of the ski. These vibrations are for the most part harmful parasitic effects which cause a loss of ski / snow adhesion which is detrimental to the driving and stability of the ski.
  • a damping device consisting of a flexion blade whose first part is fixed longitudinally with respect to the ski and a second part of which is movably connected to it by friction means.
  • the flexion blade is either disposed on the upper surface of the ski, or in the structure of the ski.
  • the present invention therefore aims to provide a ski comprising an improved vibration damping means which at least partially solves the aforementioned drawbacks by allowing relative movement between the gliding board and the blade, while improving the mechanical strength of the blade. skiing and remaining simple to manufacture.
  • the invention relates to a ski comprising a gliding board and a blade disposed on the gliding board, a first portion of which is fixed to the gliding board in a central mounting area of the ski bindings and extends towards one end of the gliding board by a second part having a means of damping vibrations, characterized in that that the second part is received in a corresponding housing formed in said end of the gliding board and in that said damping means provides at least two damping contact zones between said second part and the corresponding housing to damp the vibrations of the gliding board.
  • the arrangement allows better mechanical shock protection, the second part of the blade thus being sealed relative to the outside.
  • the blade can be inserted and assembled after the manufacture of the gliding board.
  • the vibrations are thus damped by a damping means whose height space on the ski is reduced to a minimum and the static stiffness of the ski is not affected by the damping means.
  • a ski 1 in particular an alpine ski, comprising a central mounting area 2 ski bindings 3, 4, for retaining the ski boot.
  • the Central mounting area 2 is thus delimited by a front attachment 3, commonly called abutment, and a rear attachment 4 or heel.
  • the ski comprises a gliding board 5 whose front end 6 is raised to form the spatula 7, while the rear end 8 is also to form the heel 9 of the ski.
  • the gliding board 5 also comprises a lower sliding surface 10 and an upper surface 11. It should be noted that the contact of the lower surface 10 with the snow is between the point of contact before 12 and the point of rear contact 13 corresponding to the locations of said lower surface 10 beginning to rise.
  • the gliding board 5 comprises a core layer 14 of cellular material on the faces of which are arranged reinforcing layers 15, 16.
  • the lower sliding surface of the ski 10 comprises a gliding sole 17, for example made of polyethylene, framed by two metal edges 18, a lower reinforcing layer 15, the core layer 14, a top reinforcing layer 16 and a layer of decor and protection 19 in upper surface 11.
  • Core layer 14 may be of cellular material and / or wood-based material.
  • the cellular material is for example chosen from rigid foams of plastic material, such as polyurethane foam, expanded polystyrene, extruded polystyrene, PVC or polyamides.
  • the reinforcing layers 15, 16 are advantageously layers of composite material such as fibers (glass, carbon, aramid, or mixtures thereof) impregnated or embedded in a resin (thermoplastic or thermosetting, for example of the polyester or epoxy type).
  • the fibers are for example chosen from long woven fibers, with the possibility of superimposing several fabrics (identical or different, with different fiber orientations) within the same reinforcing layer.
  • Other reinforcing materials such as metals (especially aluminum), wood, or plastics with good mechanical properties, can also be envisaged.
  • This laminated sandwich structure allows a very good ratio between the weight and the mechanical strength of the ski, particularly from the point of view of its stiffness in bending.
  • the ski 1 further comprises a blade disposed on the gliding board 5, on which a corresponding ski binding is intended to be fixed.
  • a first part of the blade is fixed on the upper surface 11 of the gliding board 5, outside its actual structure, in the central mounting area 2 of the ski bindings 3, 4.
  • the first portion extends towards one end 6, 8 of the gliding board 5, for example to the point of contact with the front 12, by a second portion having a vibration damping means.
  • the second part is received in a corresponding housing formed in the end of the gliding board.
  • the damping means provides for at least two areas of contact damping between the second part of the blade and the corresponding housing to dampen the vibrations of the gliding board.
  • the ski may comprise a front blade and / or a rear blade.
  • the Figures 1a, 1b , 1c, 1d , 1e and 1f represent a first embodiment of the damping means for which the ski comprises a front blade 20a and a rear blade 20b.
  • the vibrations are damped both at the front end 6 and the rear end 8 of the ski 1.
  • the front and rear blades 20a, 20b are easily assembled to the gliding board 5 after manufacture.
  • the blades 20a, 20b may be metal, aluminum or steel, or composite material.
  • the front blade 20a has a first portion 21a fixed by a rigid connection to the gliding board 5 in the central mounting area 2, for example, at the stop 3.
  • the first portion 21a comprises for example four through holes 23 disposed in a rectangle which allow the passage of the corresponding clamping screws 24 for fixing the blade 20a to the gliding board 5.
  • the through holes 23 are for example symmetrically distributed on either side of a longitudinal axis N of the ski 1.
  • at least two holes 23 may be oblong with the largest dimension in the longitudinal direction. The oblong holes thus make it possible to increase the tolerance of the dimensions between the holes 23 for the adjustment of the blade to the gliding board 5.
  • the front blade 20a has for example a length of the order of 80 cm.
  • the first part 21a has for example a length of the order of 30 cm, a width slightly less than the total width of the ski, for example, of the order of 4.5 cm and a thickness of about 5 cm. mm.
  • the first part 21a extends towards the front end 6 forming a second part 22a comprising a vibration damping means.
  • the second portion 22a is intended to be received in a housing 25 provided at the front end 6 of the gliding board 5.
  • the second portion 22a has for example a width of 2.5 cm.
  • the housing 25 has a hollow profile forming a tunnel or sheath (see Figure 1c and 1d ). It is for example formed under the upper reinforcing layer 16 and has equal dimensions, slightly smaller or slightly greater than the dimensions of the second portion 22a to allow its sliding during assembly.
  • the core layer 14 of the gliding board 5 has for example a central notch 26, above the neutral fiber, in which the housing 25 is arranged, so as to reduce the weight of the ski.
  • the grooves 27 provide a good rigidity of the ski and a good retention of the blade in the housing 25, while providing a certain flexibility of deformation.
  • the grooves 27 can lighten the gliding board 5.
  • the grooves 27 allow users to materialize housing 25 and thus to differentiate skis equipped with damping means.
  • the section of the blade 20a in a cross-section has for example a generally rectangular shape ( figure 1c ).
  • the section may be variable.
  • the first portion 21a has an enlarged shape with respect to the second portion 22a ( figure 1e ), which allows a better grip for the corresponding ski binding 3.
  • the junction between the first 21a and the second portion 22a may have a soft shape, for example trapezoidal, to facilitate the insertion of the blade 20a in its housing 35.
  • the blade 20a may also have a stop 37, for example formed by a blister of the blade, upstream of the second portion 22a to guide the insertion of the second portion 22a into the housing 35.
  • FIGS. 2 and 3 are views similar to the figure 1c , representing other embodiments of the gliding board 5.
  • the second portion 22a of the blade 20a is raised relative to the upper surface 11 of the gliding board 5.
  • the core layer 14 has the general trapezoidal shape and has no notch.
  • the gliding board 5 of the figure 3 has a similar structure to the figure 1c for which the core layer 14 has a central notch 26 but for which the upper surface 11 does not have a groove.
  • the damping means of the second portion 22a comprises three damping contact zones with the housing 25, along the longitudinal axis N of the ski 1, forming longitudinally spaced flexible connection means.
  • the damping means is formed by three damping inserts 28 housed in three corresponding insert holes 29 formed in the second portion 22a of the blade 20a.
  • the three inserts holes 29 are for example longitudinally spaced apart by a distance D1 of the order of 20 cm and spaced apart from the first portion 21a of the blade 20a by a distance D2 of the order of 10 cm ( figure 1e ).
  • each damping insert 28 is intended to cooperate with a fixing screw 31 to flexibly fix the blade 20a to the gliding board 5. It is also possible to provide washers 32 under the heads of the screws 31 at the level of the upper surface 11 of the gliding board 5, as visible in figure 1a .
  • the damping insert 28 comprises, for example, on the one hand, a central piece 33 in which the screw 31 is screwed, and on the other hand, a damping material 34 surrounding said piece 33.
  • the piece 33 is rigid, for example plastic material.
  • the damping material 34 is a flexible material of the elastic type, such as an elastomer. It has a thickness substantially equal to the thickness of the blade 20a so as to pass through the insert hole 29 and has a width of between 2 and 6 millimeters for example.
  • the damping material 34 is for example glued around the central piece 33 to then be inserted into the corresponding insert hole 29.
  • the insert 28 and the corresponding insert hole 29 may have an elongate shape, preferably oblong, with a length for example of the order of 2.5 cm in the longitudinal direction of the ski and a width of the order of 3.5 cm.
  • Two orifices 30 can then be arranged to cooperate with two fastening screws 31 in each insert 28 ( figure 1e ).
  • Other embodiments could also be provided for the insert and the corresponding insert hole.
  • the rear blade 20b has a first portion 21b fixed to the gliding board 5 in the central mounting area 2, for example, at the heel piece 4 ( figure 1e ).
  • the first part 21b extends towards the rear end 8, for example up to the rear contact point 13, by a second part 22b intended to be received in a housing 25 provided at the rear end 8 of the gliding board. 5.
  • the damping means comprises two damping contact zones between the second portion 22b and the housing 25, formed by two damping inserts 28, for example identical to those arranged in the front blade 20a.
  • the transverse edges 35a, 35b of the respective first portions 21a, 21b of the front and rear blades 20a, 20b may be shaped to cooperate with a seal 36 of the ski 1 of complementary shape interposed between said transverse edges 35a, 35b.
  • the connection by the seal 36 is made in the central mounting zone 2, between the stop 3 and the heel piece 4.
  • the seal 36 is for example made of elastomeric material. Such a connection makes it possible in particular to achieve a good longitudinal alignment of the front and rear blades 20a, 20b and reduces the positioning tolerances of the two blades.
  • first first portions 21a, 21b are shown whose transverse edges 35a, 35b have a wavelet shape and cooperate with a seal 36 of complementary shape.
  • Other complementary shapes of the joint and transverse edges could also be envisaged.
  • the shape of the seal may be provided to retain the front and rear blades 20a, 20b, one to another and prevent their spacing.
  • the transverse edges of the first portions 21a, 21b have protuberances or recesses for cooperating with complementary forms of the joint, such as pieces of a puzzle or dovetail shape (not shown).
  • the front blade 20a and the rear blade 20b are formed in one piece.
  • the blade is assembled to the gliding board 5 during the ski manufacturing process.
  • the vibrations of the gliding board 5 are damped at several points of contact by the damping inserts 28.
  • the fastening screws 31 and the central piece 33 move relatively to the corresponding inserts holes 29, the elasticity being produced by the damping material 34.
  • the blade thus opposes the deformation of the gliding board 5 in compression and in tension, the damping inserts 28 forming stops resilient, allowing the movement of the gliding board 5 relative to the blade to attenuate the vibrations of the ski 1 at the fasteners.
  • the damping means is formed by the friction of the outer surfaces of the second portion 22a at least partially along the inner walls of the corresponding housing 25. The friction thus forms a continuous damping contact zone between the second part of the blade 22a and the corresponding housing 25 for damping the vibrations of the gliding board 5.
  • the ski 1 may comprise a front blade 20a and / or a rear blade 20b.
  • the front blade 20a and the rear blade 20b can be assembled by a seal 36 of the ski 1 ( Figures 5a and 5c ) or form a single piece ( Figures 5b and 5d ).
  • the cross section of the blade can be constant ( Figures 5c and 5d ) or variable ( Figures 5a and 5b ).
  • the blade moves in the housing relative to the end of the ski 6, 8 and is braked by the friction of the blade in the corresponding housing 25, damping vibrations.
  • the friction can also be accentuated in zones of damping contact, by increasing the clamping force of the blade to the gliding board 5, by at least one means of accentuation of the friction.
  • the housing has a sinuosity, to increase the friction of the blade at the location of the corrugation of the housing.
  • the blade is made of steel and the housing comprises at least one magnet located at a specific point, to accentuate the friction of the blade where a magnetic field is formed.
  • a ski is thus obtained whose damping means has several points of recovery of the bending forces, making it possible to distribute the damping over the length of the ski, in a continuous or discontinuous manner, while allowing better mechanical protection against impacts and remaining simple to assemble.
