The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawings.

Fig. 1 shows a switching device, which has a housing 1 and a preferably pivotally hinged to the housing 1 cover 2. The in Fig. 1 embodiment shown is in the DE 10 2006 022 374 described. The lid 2 serves to accommodate one or more fuse units. The fuse units have contact blades for contacting the contacts described below in the housing 1. Such a fuse unit is designated 3, the contact blades are indicated at 4 and 5.

How out FIG. 1 it can be seen, the cover 2 is pivotally mounted on pivoting means 7 on holding means 8, wherein the holding means 8 are preferably provided in the form of receiving pin or the like. On the inside of the housing 1 are two pairs of such holding devices 8, 8 ', which serve to cover either to attach to the pair of retainers 8 or to the pair of retainers 8 ', depending on how the housing is attached to the associated adapter 18 to be described later. The housing 1 is usually located in the vertical direction, so that the lid 2 is pivotally arranged hinged to "top".

In the housing 1 are in a three-pole switching device, three pairs of contacts 10, 11 which are provided opposite each other and serve to receive the contact blades 4, 5 of the respective fuse unit 3, when the cover 2 is displaced in the direction of the housing 1 and is closed.

At the in Fig. 1 Shown embodiment, a feeder contact in the form of the contact 10 is provided and an access contact 11 in the form of a plug contact, as will be explained in more detail below. The plug-in contact 11 has a foot portion 12 which is carried out of the housing 1 down through an opening 17 in the housing base 1b and protrudes from the housing bottom 1a over a predetermined distance. The outgoing contact 10 has in the illustrated embodiment substantially and preferably L-shape and is fixed relative to the housing bottom 1b by screw means 13 and further carries on the parallel to the housing plane legs 10a a clamping screw 14 for clamping a line end or the like. The plug-in contact 11 is fastened by means of a leg 11a projecting perpendicular to the foot section 12 and screw means 15 on the housing bottom of the housing 1. The contacts 10 and 11 can oppose Fig. 1 be provided reversed.

At the in Fig. 1 1, the plug contact 11 is designed such that the foot section 12 is offset parallel to its receiving section 11b for the blade contact of the associated securing unit 3 by forming a shoulder section 11c between the section 11b and the contact section 12. Specifically, expressly Fig. 1 directed.

The shoulder portion 11c rests on the housing bottom 1b of the housing 1. In the housing bottom 1b is an opening 17 through which the plug contact 11 with his Foot section 12 is guided. In the housing base 1b screwing means 16 are further provided, which serve to attach the housing 1 to the underlying adapter 18 can.

As it turned out Fig. 1 results in the contact blades 4, 5 after closing the cover 2 in the receiving areas 10b, 11b associated contacts 10, 11, whereby an electrical connection between the access contact in the form of the plug contact 11 and the outgoing contact 10 is provided.
The switching device is placed on the adapter 18, wherein the foot portion 12 of the plug contact 11 via one of a pair of openings 18a, 18b with predetermined areas 21, 22 of a contact rail 20 engages and thus the electrical contact between the foot portion 12 and Contact rail 20 is made. This takes place when placing the housing 1 on the adapter 18. The openings 18a, 18b are located in a base plate 18d of the adapter 18th

Stromschiene. At the in Fig. 1 In the embodiment shown, the contact rail 20 is provided with two defined contact areas 21, 22, as will be explained in more detail below. When the housing 1 is mounted on the adapter 18, the foot portion 12 comes into contact with the portion 22 of the contact rail 20, which in turn can be brought into electrical connection with one of the busbar 24, 28, 29 designated.

The adapter 18 further comprises feet 25, 26, 27 which serve to partially engage under the respective busbars 24, 28, 29 in order to allow the adapter 18 to be placed on the busbars 24, 28, 29, as such is known.

36 hintergriffen. Fig. 2a shows a first embodiment of the used contacts 10, 11 and the contact rail 20 of the adapter 18. Each contact 10, 11 is provided with contact legs 30, 31 and 32, 33, the z. B. are biased by a spring ring 35 and 36 in a clamping position. The contact legs 30, 31 and 32, 33 are substantially parallel to each other and carry upwardly expanding insertion areas. The legs 30, 31 and 32, 33 are z. B. by a respective spring ring 35 and 36 engaged behind.

At the bottom of the plug contact 11 is the foot portion 12 which is formed in this embodiment according to the upper contact portion with the parts 32, 33, 36 and z. B. also has a spring ring 38.

The contact rail 20 has in the width shortened portion 21, 22, which are preferably conical or bevelled or round, to allow easy placement of the plug contact 11 with its foot portion 12. For this purpose, the legs 39, 40 of the foot portion 12 are also bent laterally, whereby the attachment of the legs 39, 40 is facilitated on the section 21 and 22 respectively.
The contact rail 20 has a downwardly bent tab 42 which terminates in a downwardly arcuate arc 43. The bow 43 serves for contacting the associated busbar.

Fig. 2b shows one Fig. 2a corresponding view, wherein the plug contact 11 is placed on the contact rail 20 and the downwardly flared guide legs 39, 40 of the plug contact 11 are pushed over the portion 22. Thus, the plug contact 11 is in electrical connection with the contact rail 20th

In other switching devices, in contrast to the after Fig. 1 illustrated switching device no access and outgoing plug contacts 10, 11 include, by means of which the switching device 1 can be placed on the adapter 18 and connected to the adapter 18, it is when using modules 18 of in Fig. 1 shown kind necessary to accomplish another technical solution. Such a differently designed switching device is exemplary in Fig. 3 shown. Same parts opposite Fig. 1 are provided with the same reference numbers. In this switching device 1 after Fig. 3 3 cables 70 are provided in a three-pole switching device, which are electrically connected via a terminal 70a with the fuse unit 3 and further with one of three terminals 71, as soon as the fuse unit in question 3 in the Fig. 3 shown current-carrying state occupies and thus the electrical connection between the input and output is closed. From the terminal 71 is via a piece of pipe or sleeve 72, the electrical connection led down. When using such a switching device 1, the use of an adapter 18 according to Fig. 1 obviously not possible, and it is therefore not possible to change the switching device 1 with respect to its direction of connection.

According to the invention, it is desirable to use the adapter 18 in conjunction with a variety of switching devices, for example, the switching device according to Fig. 3 , This is achieved by using a connection module as described in US Pat Fig. 4 and 5 is shown in detail.

In order to mount such a switching device with different connection direction on the adapter 18, a connection module is provided, of which in Fig. 4 a first alternative and in Fig. 5 a second alternative are shown. Fig. 6 shows in perspective view and exploded a switching device 1 with details not shown, including the connection module 76, which is here attached to the underside of the switching device 1, and this also removed in perspective the adapter 18th Fig. 7 illustrates a perspective view in which the switching device 1, the connection module 76 and the adapter 18 are joined together.

Below is the in Fig. 4 shown variant of a connection module 76 explained in more detail.

The connecting module 76 consists of a base plate 80 with laterally at least downwardly abstrebenden legs 81, 82, which are preferably provided at an angle of 90 ° to the base plate 80. The base plate 80 is provided with slits or openings 84, 85, 86 preferably mirror-symmetrical to a transverse axis 83, which are formed near the legs 82, 83 and serve to form passage openings through which contacts are made. In the embodiment according to Fig. 4 the individual contacts consist of approximately Z-shaped contacts 87, 88, 89. The ends of these electrical contacts in the form of copper conductor tracks or the like are structured fork-shaped. The upwardly facing ends of the contacts 87, 88, 89 are designated 87a, 88a, 89a and extend according to Fig. 8 parallel to the base plate 80, while in the connection module 76 downwardly projecting contact ends are designated 87b, 88b, 89b and project vertically downwards relative to the base plate 80. The contact ends 87a, 88a, 89a are the access portions and the contact ends 87b, 88b and 89b are the output portions of the connection module. Nevertheless Fig. 4 If the contacts 87, 88, 89 are visible, it is to be understood that the portions extending below the base plate 80 would not be recognizable due to the non-translucent material of the base plate 80.

The contacts 87, 88, 89 are in the connection module 76 on the in Fig. 4 provided visible left side, where appropriate, these contacts may be provided mirror-symmetrical to the transverse axis 83 on the right side, as far as this is structurally possible and desirable.

The fork-shaped contact ends 87a, 88a, 89a engage in the terminal area of a switching device or the like, while the lower contact ends 87b, 88b, 89b are dimensioned and positioned so that they can be inserted exactly into the openings indicated generally at 18a, 18b in the adapter 18 (FIG. Fig. 6 ) and in conjunction with Fig. 1 are described. Thus, as soon as the connection module 76 is attached to the respective switching device and the contact ends 87a, 88a, 89a have been brought into electrical connection with the respective connection contact 71 of the switching device 2 or the like, these two components, consisting of the switching device 1 and the connection module 76, put together on the adapter 18 in order to get in this way via the contacts 87, 88, 89 with the formed on the underside of the adapter 18 mating contacts or conductors in connection. After the adapter 18 is also symmetrically designed according to the transverse axis 83, according to the present invention, the switching device 1 together with the connection module 76 in two rotated by 180 ° to each other positions on the adapter, so that the connections of the switching device once "up" or "down" can lie. By "top" and "bottom" is meant that the switching device after Fig. 1 usually in one too Fig. 1 90 ° clockwise position on the busbars 24, 28, 29th is placed, which are provided parallel to each other in the vertical direction, or in a rotated by 180 ° position, if the connections should be "down".

Fig. 6 illustrates how the contact ends 87a, 88a, 89a, for example, with the sleeve-shaped connecting elements 72, also referred to above pipe sections are brought into electrical contact, ie the contact ends 87a, 88a, 89a are below each piece of pipe 72 or above the pipe section 72 under the Screw head 73 (see Fig. 3 ).

At the in Fig. 5 illustrated variant of a connection module 77, the contacts 87, 88, 89 designed substantially L-shaped with lower contact ends 87b, 88b, 89b, while instead of the contact ends 87a, 88a, 89a Fig. 4 Sleeves or pipe sections are attached to the contacts 87, 88, 89, which the pipe sections 72 in Fig. 3 correspond and in Fig. 5 are accordingly designated 72a, 72b, 72c.

The connection with the respective switching device is made by attaching the switching device 1 to the connection module 77, in which case the pipe sections 72a, 72b, 72c are brought into the position as shown in FIG Fig. 3 in relation to the switching device 1 shown there.

The contact ends 87b, 88b, 89b are configured in the same way as in connection with the connection module 76 (FIG. Fig. 4 ) are shown, and serve in the same way to contact the corresponding contacts of the adapter 18 as soon as this connection module 77 is placed on the adapter 18. Also in the connection module 75 after Fig. 5 For example, the contacts 87, 88, 89 may be mirror-symmetrical to the transverse axis 83, as desired or convenient.

For fastening the connection modules 76, 77 to the adapter part 18, each connection module in the region of the legs 81, 82 is provided with a respective flexible tongue 91, 92, which extends from the base plate 80 transversely to the base plate 80 within the legs 81, 82, opposite the thighs but is free to move and a pinching to the corresponding legs 93, 94 ( Fig. 6 and 7 ) of the adapter 18.

According to a preferred embodiment, the tongues 91, 92 are provided on their inner surface with elongate grooves or teeth 96, 97, 98, as is apparent from Fig. 8 showing a view of the leg 81 from the inside. These teeth 96, 97, 98, of which only a part is designated, are tapered downwards and have a width which corresponds approximately to the width of the slots, which are provided laterally in the adapter 18 and the reference number 99 in Fig. 6 are generally designated. The length of the slots 99 formed parallel to one another and the length of the teeth 96-98 are matched to permit locking of the teeth 96-98 in the slots 99 after fitting the connection module 76 or 77 to the adapter 18 ,

Furthermore, in the region of the legs 81, 82, the length of the tongue 91 or 92 is limited so that a slot 101 between the respective tongue 91 and 92 and the legs 81 and 82 is released, which serves by means of a tool the Tongue 91 or 92 to raise when the connection module 76 or 77 to be released from the adapter 18.

In the present invention, it is advantageous that the connection module 76, 77 engages the adapter 18 in a force-locking manner, so that the plug-in contact between the switching device 2 and the connection module 76 or 77 is not loaded by the device weight of the switching device and is only used for power transmission. The respective switching devices can advantageously be prefabricated on the respective connection module 76 or 77 available. In case of damage, the failure of the entire unit is kept as low as possible due to the rapid conversion or replacement of a switching device 2.

Another advantage of the present invention results from the fact that the connection module is equipped with universally adjustable or displaceable threaded plates. This is based on Fig. 4 explained in more detail. In the base plate 80 are in the in Fig. 4 illustrated embodiment between the contacts 87, 88, 89 respectively receiving grooves 103, 104 are formed, in which slidably threaded plates 108, 109, are used. These threaded plates 108, 109 can thus be displaced within the guide grooves 103, 104 and allow adaptation to the screw of the respective switching device.

Respective guide grooves 105, 106 are formed on the opposite side of the base plate 80 of the connection module 76, 77, respectively, and receive threaded plates 110, 111 in a slidable manner. These threaded plates 110, 111 are used for receiving fastening means, which are introduced by the switching device, starting in the connection module.

As a result of the displaceably arranged threaded plates 108 to 111, different devices and / or switching devices can be mounted on the connection modules 76, 77.

The construction of the connection module 76 or 77 according to the invention, this is designed so that it can accommodate the associated connection contact elements of the respective switching device, which may have the form of one-piece connecting rails, which are provided prefabricated to the terminals of the switching devices or by flexible connections or through Pipe pieces are formed in the form of spacer tubes. Thus, the connection module according to the invention allows the universal use of various equipment and / or switching devices.

In the case of the connection module according to the invention, the accesses in the form of the contact ends 87a, 88a, 89a in the case of a three-phase device are provided adjacent to each other at the same height from the base plate 80. The contact ends on the output side, which are designated 87b, 88b, 89b, also have approximately the same length and are also adjacent to each other, wherein the contacts 87, 88, 89 are arranged parallel to each other on the base plate 80.

Hereinafter, yet another embodiment of a connection module will be described, which in Fig. 9 is shown and can serve to accommodate two switching devices. Here, the two switching devices are formed by smaller or shorter units, as in connection with Fig. 6 and 7 is shown. Accordingly, this connection module 78 has a base plate 80 with a series of slots 84, 85, 86 and 84 ', 85', 86 ', which are mirror-symmetrical to the transverse axis 83 and serve to the contacts 87, 88, 89 and 87 ', 88', 89 'record. The upper contact ends 87a, 88a, 89a are parallel to the plane of the base plate 80 and are fork-shaped and merge into a vertically extending portion, followed by a parallel to the base plate 80 extending portion which extends below the base plate 80 and to the then connect the lower contact ends, which are not shown for reasons of clarity and are preferably fork-shaped. In essence, these contacts 87, 88, etc. correspond to those in connection with FIG Fig. 4 explained contacts, they have a shorter section parallel to the base plate 80 opposite Fig. 4 and are mirror-symmetrical to the axis 83. In this way, each of in Fig. 9 on the left side as well as from the right side put on a switching device to in conjunction with Fig. 4 be described manner associated with the associated terminals of the switching device in connection. The contacts 87 ', 88', 89 'are mirror-symmetrical to the axis 83 with respect to the contacts 87, 88, 89 are provided. Furthermore, receiving grooves 103, 104, 103a, 104a and 105, 106, 105a, 106a with the threaded plates, which in Fig. 9 for the sake of clarity are not designated, compared to the variant Fig. 5 doubled.

Kontaktelementen hergestellt. The formed on the bottom of each connection module 76, 77, 78 contact ends 87b, 88b, 89b are formed as plug contacts and have the function to be plugged into mating contacts of the adapter 18 when the connection module 76, 77, 78 is placed on the adapter 18 , By placing the connecting module 76, 77, 78 on the adapter 18, the electrical connection to the conductor tracks or contact elements present in the adapter 18 is practically produced automatically.

As is apparent from the above description, the adapter 18 has a plate 18d which contains the passages or openings 18a, 18b for the plug contacts of the connection module.
